  1. I was on that train, nightmare trip and yes I think you are right about Gillingham.
  2. Seen a "In Pearson we trust" sticker at baggage collection at Palma airport in September and back in 2003 I was visiting family in western Australia for new year, we were staying in a small town about 2 hours from Perth and went to a house party and some lad walked In wearing the famous blue and white quarters, he was a good lad and came from Kingswood.
  3. That would be great, not much dearer than a pint in London.
  4. I don't think we would sell 9k whatever day or time it was, yes it's a new ground but West Ham are a team we have played in the league since our top flight days. Spurs, Arsenal or Chelsea I think we would take those sort of numbers but not West Ham. 5 to 6 thousand I recon.
  5. I seen AC/DC there so not a new ground for me either.
  6. They always bring a few, early start for them today tho, wouldn't be surprised at 1500 odd.
  7. No but I worked on the 2 lead domes on the building on the side of Station approach in about 1983. We completely re-leaded them, spent about 2 months up there.
  8. Spent this afternoon feet up on the sofa sipping a Henry Westons listening to Rainbow...Live On Stage and very enjoyable it was too.
  9. I'm going to the Bath v Yeovil game early December, Yeovil been given and sold i believe 1200 tickets, apparently its close to a sell out although I'm not sure what a sell out is these days at Twerton. Only the 2nd time they have had segregation for a league game at TP apparently.
  10. Sell out everywhere they go mind !!. They took about 3k up there last year as they hadn't been there for years, funny how the novelty wears off. What game is their cup final this season? Probably already had it at Reading.
  11. It does obviously but to be fair we did take over 400 to Hull and Rotherham for night games this season, the latter also on Sky and with a trip to Leeds a few days later. I've known us take less to those sort of places on a Saturday.
  12. Giving it a miss tomorrow, feel totally deflated by the sacking of Pearson as others have said a new manager/coach generally comes in after a really bad run etc but not the case this time. I wish LM all the best obviously but struggling for enthusiasm at the moment. I would probably take a draw tomorrow but don't see us getting anything at Southampton and Norwich home could be tricky. Nothing about Pearsons sacking and appointment of LM feels right to me. Time will tell I suppose.
  13. Most of the Alan Dicks promotion team enjoyed a couple of pints after training and afternoons in the bookies, footballers life back then.
  14. Just done a bit of research 170 books of greenshield stamps got you a silver cloud motorboat unfortunately the outboard motor didn't come with it, think it was on a trailer tho
  15. Wasn't it a Polish or Hungarian goalkeeper that Clough called a clown who then played a blinder against England to stop us qualifying for the World Cup in 1974 I think.
  16. Not sure if this is true...but heard a story that some members of Pink Floyd booked a PF tribute act for a party and Nick Mason said "they are better than us"
  17. They have loads in the Fleece and yes Keynsham has a fake festival, hoping to see the Pink Floyd tribute sometime.
  18. Following on from my fav gig thread, what are peoples thoughts on tribute acts ? I've only seen 3, Live Wire...AC/DC, very good, Bootleg Beatles they were also very good and an ABBA tribute( not through choice) and they were very good aswell. A mate of mine is in a Depeche Mode and Human League tribute band and they are incredibly busy.
  19. I was chatting to a mate today re our favourite gigs etc, probably a bit childish but it's a international break and a bit boring so here are my favourite 10 Led Zeppelin...Knebworth Oasis...Knebworth U2...Colston Hall (probably not allowed to call it that now) U2...Wembley(Joshua Tree tour) AC/DC...Colston Hall Ritchie Blackmores Rainbow...Hammersmith Odeon The Verve...Glastonbury Faithless...Glastonbury Underworld...Royal Albert Hall Simple Minds...Milton Keynes Bowl And as a bonus...James...Bristol Harbourside.
