  1. I guess you’re right it has been money well spent. I hope Dave can provide his graphs for his stats for us this year. All I said was it’s not been £2 million (now confirmed as less than that up front) well spent. Not quite sure what’s so controversial about that?
  2. Sorry I didn’t realise you can’t comment on a player whose not made an appearance for us without his fan club stepping in to insult you!
  3. So far it has been a waste of money? I’m amazed you think differently. He may turn out amazing, he may never play again. As it stands today it has been a waste of £2 million. It’s no-one’s fault and couldn’t be avoided but it’s a fact.
  4. Who said release him and call it a day?
  5. ? Do you disagree it’s a good use of £2 million? Regardless of its unfortunate, we’ve not seen him on the pitch for 1 minute so it’s not been a good use of money.
  6. It’s very unfortunate I agree. its not been £2 million well spent though has it?
  7. Manning got a win against a good Boro today, what shall we moan about? How about the attendance and Downsy? We haven’t moaned about them for at least 3 weeks!
  8. Christian Roberts scored those ones.
  9. If that was the Man City game v Chelsea where she got a 2nd yellow, the ref was 100% correct to do so.
  10. I only ever went for a pee during a game once, and while I was making my way back to my seat up the stairs of the Atyeo, Luke Wilshire knocked one in from 45 yards v Tranmere. Never again.
  11. I think with our current defensive record and performance ms by Dickie it would be mad to either drop him or Vyner to fit Naismith in. Joint second best defence, let’s leave that as it is as let it continue. Where have we been lacking? Movement in the midfield, Naismith might not improve this, but triangles between him, James, Knight and the centre backs will open up space. I would hope this would also ‘release’ Knight a bit more from any defensive duties and give us an extra body in attack. I do feel that the change in formation in order to prevent conceding goals is not affecting us in the attacking third. Our players always seem outnumbered or isolated. Another thing I’d like to see is when we are defending corners or free kicks, leave Sam Bell up top. For well over a season any clearer ball has come back into the box completely unchallenged. Bell isn’t going to be one of the main defensive headers of the ball. Let’s use his pace and presence to at least give the opposition something to think about.
  12. Mid-40s I think. Rushden & Diamonds is the most obscure.
  13. Successful? We didn't have a play style? Unless you include pass it around the back 4 until we get under pressure and lump it up to a forward in the hope Knight picks up a loose ball. Or play it back to Max to boot out of play. The style of play looked exactly the same as the Sheff Wed game. Manning needs to try and coach half the team how to make a 5 yard pass because Pearson sure couldn't! Don't get me wrong, I didn't want Pearson to leave, but lets not pretend we were playing anywhere near something resembling 'good' football for the majority of this season!
  14. To be fair you could look at it as to how bad our GKs could be without PM as coach. Max might be putting every long pass out of play! oh hang on…
  15. To be fair, up until the last 10 mins or so, the high line was working! An extra 14 mins in the first half and 9 in the second probably took it out the 9 men so should have dropped back then.
  16. He’s hardly going to say prepare to be disappointed though!

    TGH

I see what you mean. I can see TGH replacing James. As you say he’s a bit more dynamic and athletic but maybe lacks a bit of nous or calmness on the ball which will come with experience.
  18. NP might have thought that, but the reason for sacking him wouldn’t have been “poor results” it would have been irreconcilable differences.
  19. IMO the third option was the clear one to do. If SL didn’t want NP anymore then allow him to work the rest of his contract, be open with him and the fans that we want to go in a different direction after NP has steadied the ship and hope the fans will support the idea. I would reckon a good 75% of the current SL detractors while may not agreeing with that, would at least respect and understand the decision.
  20. It’s the first time in a long long time my Mrs has actually heard of someone linked with Bristol City! When I said Liam Manning she completely glazed over, but Lampard got a “I’ve heard of him”
  21. But those aren't the two options. It is SL stays and we stay as we are, a new person comes in and revolutionises the club and we get promotion and a sustained time in the top division or someone comes in, strips the club, and we struggle/plummet into the lower divisions. People who say SL to stay maybe don't want to have the risk of potentially losing the club for the chance of better. you wouldn't bet your house on a poker game (or shouldn't anyway!) I just don't get the comments and 'anger' towards people who say "it could be worse, look at Sheff Wed, Reading, etc". I'm happy to support City in any division playing any football, but I want to support them! Not have someone come in, try and change the name, colour of the shirt, not care about the club, etc.
