  1. Running up debt, probably, and taking out loans to cover them. Which is basically what is happening now, only SL converts his loans into shares as opposed to us having to pay interest to banks or other "investors". We wouldn't necessarily go into administration or fail FFP though.
  2. Though I can’t imagine the absolute shambles of last season would have happened under CH we almost certainly wouldn’t have got off to that blistering start, points wise, as, I would like to think, our players would have done a proper preseason. They wouldn’t have been so fresh but equally wouldn’t have fallen so completely to pieces (literally in some cases) as the season wore on. I would also say he’d have still been “under” everyone’s favourite CEO and therefore probably not having the best time regarding recruitment! Bearing in mind what happened, I am pretty sanguine about things. I certainly would not swap NP for CH right now, and wouldn’t have any time he’s been with us.
  3. There was an article on Bristol Live that mentioned it this week.
  4. I had a conversation with one of the blue few some time ago at work about this. After listening to them pontificating about how amazing their new stadium was going to be (I think it was the UWE one, but there have been so many attempts, it's hard to recall precisely), I replied that there is absolutely no point spending probably several million pounds (which they haven't got anyway) on 8,000 to 10,000 extra seats that they are extremely unlikely to ever use consistently for some time (by which, I meant decades). The only time they would ever need more is pulling one of 15 or so teams in the country at home in one of the cups. It's largely never going to pay for itself. They'd be far better off looking at the whole conferencing/exhibition route, if they did have the bunce to do it. Expecting the typical rage and oral foaming, rather unbelievably, the bloke, I'll call him Graham, as that was his name, then completely agreed with me. I suspect, if he ever bothers to look at their joke of a forum is regarded as one of da shit as a result.
  5. They’d still be in the mire even if they did get 4 points for a win.
  6. One’s 20. One’s half way out the door (mentally at least) and the other one is injured. Again. Pretty much ‘situation normal’!
  7. By and large, I have a lot of sympathy for fans in this situation as none of this is really their doing but there comes a point where they defend lunacy. Their owners and administrators have tried every tactic, greasy or otherwise, to get out of this and it appears that they have breached every single time it comes to audit. Not only that but there’s clearly a godawful culture at the club and absolute garbage being served up on the pitch. We, of all clubs know, from bitter, first-hand experience, that what would be best for them is a reset. All this manipulation just looks ridiculous, every football fan I talk to thinks Derby are basically a joke at this point. By refusing to accept they’ve broken the rules this ridiculous limbo will carry on and on and will probably end up with them being relegated in front of disinterested, dwindling support. Just take the punishment and relegation! Sort out the squad, culture and the pointless excesses! Restore some pride (it’s the name of their stadium for god’s sake)! Basically, get the house in order. Find the right manager and within a couple of seasons they’ll be right at the top of the 3rd tier. If it’s done well then it’s only likely to be a season or 2. It’s not the end of the world. Most of their fans will be loving it and they can be back in the Championship in a much better place than they are now. Yes they’ll lose a bit of sponsorship and TV money in the short term but if they’re in such a state to genuinely think that is going to make a difference they’re absolutely stuffed anyway.
  8. You can’t keep an honest Australian cricketer pleasant.
  9. In other words: ‘How is that cobweb going to dig you out of your numerical mess?’
  10. As far as the 10 year season ticket - Wasn't offering something along those lines, one of the contributing factors into Rangers' financial meltdown?
  11. (Freeview Channel 67)3: Babestation
  12. I know it seems unlikely, but just watch the first minute...
  13. I think any Dutch player signing for the sorry sags would have to be Blind.
  14. I would think it would be fought against but since spending money on infrastructure does not count against FFP then the EFL could say the release of capital from the sale of such an ‘infrastructure’ asset, such as a stadium, or training ground would not count either.
  15. There are a lot of people moaning about that on the comments to the video. To be honest, I don't really know the "cheapest" way of watching PPV's on Sky or, to be fair, the non-PPV stuff, but comparatively speaking, we're soon to be on the wrong end of it. The other thing there is that if Canelo is the only fighter in the US that justifies a PPV (as Hearrn said), then surely only AJ justifies it in this country? Obviously, that's not the case. Any "big" fight in this country is behind the secondary paywall. Is it a case of though we pay less for each PPV, way more boxers are "labelled" PPV attractions? I mean, what have we got between now and the end of the year in this country- Usyk v Bellew and Whyte v Chisora/Ortiz (if it happens). That's just Matchroom. Wilder v Fury (albeit that one is in America). Frampton v Warrington as well
  16. Hearn’s IFL interview yesterday, Fast Car says ‘I had nothing to do with the Canelo signing’ before insinuating that he was involved in every step to do with it bar writing up the contract. I didn’t like his attitude when Kugan asked him about the PED thing. I get it, market forces are what they are, but it felt hypocritical of him to talk seriously about Saunders and then put on a silly voice and effectively sweep the Canelo thing under the rug. I’m a bit new to it and I’ve never really seen Hearn be quite so dismissive of something like that before, even as you’ve pointed out, he’s not really going to have anything to with Canelo beyond it being a bit easier to get big pay days for some of his fighters. I don’t really buy the Povetkin argument either. If AJ didn’t fight him he’d have lost a belt. That’s on the governing body really. AJ wants to achieve something no one else has in ‘the 4 belt era’ so didn’t have a choice. All my opinion of course.
  17. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/boxing/45887432 Canelo getting a million a week from DAZN for 5 years. Part of the contract is for Canelo to prepare himself ever more. Mexican purveyors of contaminated meat are rubbing their hands! Seriously though, would like to hear Hearn’s rationale here (beyond money). It does send the wrong message that cheaters prosper and I am sure I have heard him lay into drug cheats on IFL (though possibly not Canelo personally) from purely the basis of using it and injuring your opponent or killing them. He’s thrown Rocky under the bus though!
  18. Yank-like? Utterly wrong. The only similarity is that Ashton Gate is now a multisport stadium and it is common for Basketball (NBA) and Ice-Hockey (NHL) franchises to share an arena, but the franchises from the same City are not usually owned by the same person/company and will not actually own the arena themselves, since most of them got the local authority to pay for it in order that they would relocate (or remain) in the City. There's only 1 professional football club who franchised themselves out to another City who were originally based in Bristol and there is only 1 professional football club in Bristol begging for someone else to build them a stadium.
  19. Might be a bit low, but still better than a tent, I suppose.
  20. Dire Straits? Mark Knopfler appears to have managed to regrow some hair and poor John Ilsley has let himself go.
  21. I suspect that making up a gratuitous lie about a crime being committed then being told a Police Officer wanted to speak to you about it in order to investigate, might, just might, encourage you to wind your neck in, since presumably wasting police time is still an offence in itself. All depends on how utterly deluded about your own importance in life is, I suppose. Or you could disappear and get one of your sad mates to cast aspersions on the Police Officer in question even though they are clearly willing to investigate. Hypothetically speaking, of course.
  22. Ahem. I assume the bloke who attempted GBH on Bobby for his assist went in the book?
