Sacked on 29 October 2023 right? So 6 months is 29 April 2024. Does this podcast come out after that date?

6 months is a fairly common length of time in settlement agreements...it might be that he can say certain things from Monday onwards...?

PS (I may be guilty of stirring the pot a bit here)

PPS I thought I was quite up on the football podcasts but I'd never heard of this one. Is it big?

You may be right, but I think it depends on whether he wants to work at a club again.

Would you employ someone who'd slagged off his previous employers once it was legally possible?

  2. Not that I originate from the west country but have lived here for over 50 years and quite like their stuff. Can't help but smile at their versions of Wonderwall and Ruby.

First saw them at Uni in Liverpool - they were on the same bill as The Who and a band called Brewers' Droop. Of course everybody had turned out for The Who, but I can still see Adge looking out at the audience and the audience looking back. Let's just say there was a culture gap. The evening was stolen by Brewers' Droop though who had a fairly decent lead guitarist - turned out it was some bloke called Mark Knopfler, who was absolutely f'ing awesome.

I’d have that in football too.

I'd agree with it. Would also like us all to hear what refs are saying, and possibly even think about sin bins. Much to learn from the egg chasers.

Re. extra time, does anybody else think the whole issue around added time could be solved by scrapping it completely and just stop the clock when the ball isn’t in play, when there’s an injury, substitution, goal etc. just like rugby? That way there can’t be any complaints and the game just finishes when it reaches 90 minutes.

Rugby doesn't finish when the clock reaches 80 though - the ball has to go out of play and that can take quite a while.

Well. I've seen some poor opposition individual performances.

That tonight is the first time I felt pity for an opposition player that they played that poorly.

    Dear Lord.

Our first signing of the summer then...

  6. Good performance and a very enjoyable game. That said, if Vardy has been able to convert his sitters then the result would have been very different.

Interesting to see Manning and Matty James on the pitch afterwards - they obviously get on well. Hope the club will make every effort to keep James, maybe even getting him a bit of coaching to do.

    Just listened.

Sums it up - “off the ball structure against certain teams has been very very good…in recent games from the first half to the second half certainly against Swansea was a lot better…I think when we are more aggressive (when we can be) it leads to more turnovers in the final third and we can be a little more front foot and transitional”

Jamo gets it, knows how we play better, yet our head-coach persists with his plan.

As per LM’s interview - yeah, yeah, we know people are putting a lot of hours in to produce stuff (tech stuff and animations), but is it producing the results?

Question - are you doing the right things and not executing, or could they be the wrong things?

    Very diplomatic interview.

Sounded like a man thinking there might be a vacancy soon.

  8. Don't know anything about our women's team or the WSL but thinking of dragging daughter along for a game or two.

A couple of silly questions if no-one minds:

Is our women's team suffering from a lack of investing, poor recruitment, coaching or what? Obviously they're pretty much adrift at the moment so something is not quite ideal.

Does the women's game have anything like FFP?

If James is fit, he HAS to play.

    i wanna see something like;

                     Max

      Tanner   Vyner   Dickie

    Sykes James Knight Pring

                     Twine

               Wells  Conway

That looks very good to me - not that we'll ever see it.

Yup, think your right. No coconuts though. Watney's Red Barrell on tap as well.

What do we reckon? I'd take three points and snap your hand off anything more from that lot although if he gets a result today that changes it!!

Agreed, but you never know with City. We should take hope from the performance against Southampton. Might be a good idea if Manning mentions that the game to the players.

    Let's see..

    1) Even with the attendances and other revenue gaps, the PL cash and or Parachute Payments make it an absolute chasm. Even Luton assuming most similar or slightly uplifted revenue streams to 2022-23 plus Parachute vs Solidarity could easily be £20-25m ahead next season.

    2) Burnley averaged 19k last they were at this level. A bit lower sure. Is hard to gauge because of so much recent PL or top end Parachute stuff what they may average in a season where they aren't flourishing, bigger club than Bournemouth anyway.

    3) We need not sell from an FFP angle.

*Challenge to bridge the gap to top 2 for sure..hit on a perfect storm Idk.

Rather depressing isn't it, but we really shouldn't be selling out best (IMO) after 1.5-2 years of fixing the finances and we really shouldn't have sacked NP and his team. However if we sell Conway all the money must go back into the side IMO.

All true, of course, but the point is that the players wanted to go, as does Conway reportedly.

Also, despite all the player sales we still make a substantial loss every year, FFP angle or not. Is it therefore reasonable to demand that all proceeds from a player sale have to be spent?

BTW, £10m for Semenyo doesn't look like a great deal for us now does it?

  13. Sorry, could someone explain to me why he was a legend as a player. Long serving certainly, but all his best years were in tier 3. Had the odd decent game in tier 2 but nothing to write home about IMO.

Then there's his performance in the playoff final vs Brighton - he was shocking, but instead of holding his hand up put all the blame on Danny Wilson.

If manning is sacked it could be mr Brian tinnion it would be the owners cheap option again.

The only good thing about that is that when he fails we should see the back of him for good.

Cooper would want a big budget.

Are we going that way anymore? After all the hard work and pain of Summer 2021 to January 2023.

You're not kidding - he spent a King's ransom on getting Forest to 4th in the Championship and then promoted after very lucky playoff win against Huddersfield. Only my opinion, but there's nothing in our history to suggest that Lansdown would provide that level of support.

As the property you are trying to enter is private property the owners are perfectly entitled to put any pre-conditions they like on you entering their property, providing they do not discriminate on the grounds of a protected characteristic.  Likewise if you don't want to be subject to the attention you don't need to go anywhere near the ground.

In this case the OP said that they were police officers (not representatives of NFFC).

Don't think that football clubs can just apply their own rules with no involvement of the authorities - the involvement of the police at matches isn't optional for football clubs.
