  1. Yup, it's a pity though - I thought he was on the right lines and deserved more support than he got. Very unlucky with the timing of his health problems. Hope it turns out well for him. Not that I imagine that Nige was the easiest man for JL and BT to manage.
  2. Maybe Nige's unplanned health situation moved things along a bit. Maybe the plan was to look where we were around Easter and decide then. Who knows, but it's not necessarily idiotic. Events, dear boy, events...
  3. Has he stopped eating fruit?
  4. Just in case it is Eustace can I post this. Someone's bound to need it at some point.
  5. Even if you're right what has a new manager to lose? 3 year deal, ends badly after 1. Large payoff and the Football World saying 'Well, it's Bristol City and the Lansdowns - what do you expect?" Money for jam...
  6. Could I have first dibs on your season ticket? Inappropriate jokes aside get yourself a good health check/MOT, even if you have to pay for it. Maybe talk to a a counsellor or something like and then stop worrying about it. Thing is, if you spend all your time thinking and worrying you're giving yourself problems and risk self-fulfilling the prophecy - a downward spiral you don't want to step on.
  7. Well do I remember that shit show at the Millenium. Brian Tinnion didn't turn up that day and was substituted in the second half.
  8. The latest of many brain-dead decisions. Shameful. I wonder what how much our Director of Football supported Nige. About as much as he supported Danny Wilson all those years ago, I would think.
  9. Yup, Vyner also. Mehmeti certainly has the ability but whether he has the will to make himself championship player isn't clear to me. The best thing he can do is to take in NP's lessons and work hard.
  10. Depressing. Junior can't even have the decency to mention Nige - just Tom Rawcliffe and Brian Tinnion. A basic lack of respect. Pathetic.
  11. Saw him quite a few times over the years. What a player he was. Legend is an over used word but totally justified in his case. RIP Sir, thank you.
  12. Indeed, as has been perfectly obvious since the Coppell fiasco.
  13. That's for reminding me of that. One of the most unprofessional things I've seen a City player do. Also remember Billy Mercer had been injured for a while but then miraculously declared himself fit for the final, got beat at the near post by Father Ted (Kavanagh) and then went back on the sick list after the final.
  14. I wish I thought that was a joke but we al know it's the truth. Maybe he goes to Bournemouth - we appear to be their feeder club.
  15. Couldn't believe what Barton was saying on the way home yesterday. What a dispicable piece of work that man is. Quite a lot of Gasheads fully in support of him by the looks of it as well.
  16. On Saturday we see that Nige is on crutches and then on Sunday Phil's gone. Mmm... (This is meant to be a joke, btw).
  17. He might just want to get back to London. He might have done something wrong. He might be ill. He might have been offered another job somewhere. The club might be near a sale. Mark Ashton and LJ might be coming back. No idea - we'll just have to wait and see. One thing for sure: Alexander would have known what to expect from Lansdown - he was at Palace for some of the same time as Coppell and would likely have had a word before signing up with us.
  18. Many of us look forward to a gas free future. Maybe that's it.
  19. I'm sure he's a very decent guy, wants the best for the club and still has ambition - just that he's 71 now and trying to tidy up his affairs before he himself is promoted to the division above. Maybe Jon isn't willing to take it all on, or maybe he's not as business-savvy as his dad. Either way Steve needs to plan ahead. After all he's done for City and the city we could just trust him...
  20. True, but then we are the only side to get anything out of Preston. After 5 games they have 4 wins and one draw.
  21. Fair enough. Bell is a lot more useful than Mehmeti on the left, and I'm not even a fan if Bell's.
  22. Was sat in the middle of the Lansdown yesterday and was watching Nige's reactions, particularly about Mehmeti. Not happy would be the understatement of the year. Was very surprised when Mehmeti came out for the second half. Sam Bell is twice the player on the left.
  23. Calculus

    XG?

Couldn't we just go back to AG as a performance metric? (Actual Goals for those not in the statisterati).
  24. Thanks, that's very depressing. Seems that the Lansdown legacy will only be measured in commercial revenue and assets.
