Ha ha. Yes mate, I remember that, you belter!!
Sadly I wasn’t able to enjoy the evening in Bath afterwards. I got arrested when we were 3-1 up and carted off to the station.
When released at about 8pm, I got the Badgerline bus back to Longwell. I was singing “we beat the Rovers 3-1” all the way home on the bus and was getting some funny looks. Twas only when I got off the bus and met some mates in the Crown at Longwell that they told me we’d won 4-2!!I’m sure it was the same night that we ended up at my mates at 4am watching the Bruno-Tyson fight.
I must’ve been absolutely wrecked that night!!!That was definitely the fight. We got the train back from Oldfield Park and walked from Temple Meads to the Wedlocks. The playerss came in for beers with us and stayed in the boozer until about 6am watching the fight. What a day and night

The sad sags will all be tugging one off and hoping to draw us now for their cup final.

I have just started watching it on the BBC red button, I didn't realise it was on but Jesus that ground looks even worse than I remember. I should imagine it's one of the worst that Darlington have ever played in.
Darlo’s old ground Feethams was really scenic. Rumour has it they are going back to the 25000 Darlington Arena

Coincidentally, 0-5 is what I expect Darlington to win by on Sunday.
I really hope so. Darlo are my second team so can’t wait for Sunday.

From the CEO's interview today, I don't think it will be another Garner-type. Tisdale being appointed wouldn't surprise me - he lives in Bath, so no major upheaval for him re. family etc, and he fits the club's brief fairly well. Maybe he'll bring Andy Tilson in on the coaching staff, as they worked together at Exeter, and our defence needs sorting out.
But Tisdale is former Ted. That should have you all spitting feathers

The new man whoever it is will be cheap. Either an unknown, an ex player or someone from non-league. How much would it cost to get Beadle from Barnet?
The way Barnet are playing in the league Beadle may be unemployed soon so could be perfect.

I expect many of them can no longer remember what the second tier is like. Its changed totally in any case from when they were last in it. (1992?)
Close 1993, they were last ever visitors to the original Den. Surprised they didn't try to squat there.

So what happened to their ‘dustbin thread’ about us on Slagchat?
The thread that popped up after we lost a few games and quickly racked up 20 odd pages full of mutants stroking themselves about how we had apparently become ‘the gift’?
Strange...
They moved it to the Non Rovers Chat folder to hide it

Cotts & Clough wouldn't go near the club.
The cowley brothers is a funny one, they hated their old manager for hoofball (which got them to 3rd in the table) and that's the main tactic of the cowley brothers.
Even funnier they used call Coughlan the PE teacher sarcastically and weren't the Cowleys PE teachers?

Rovers were shite, end of mate.
Oh I wasn't helping with their excuses mate. Just pointing out how bad Kettle is. Not surprised he was equally poor for both. I noticed the 4 bookings in first half hour

I watched it, the ref wasn't good but they were dreadful, 4-1 flattered them, it could and probably should have been 6 IMHO.
The gas keeper made one save towards the end iirc. I was too busy laughing to remember any more.
They were totally outplayed!
The ref was Trevor Kettle so not surprised he was poor. It's all about him when he referees.

The fans being needy is one thing, but presumably Northampton are asking this of their fans on behalf of Bristol Rovers (the club) becuase of an official approach.
I like how most Northampton fans are recounting the playoff semis in 1998 where the gas tannoy man "counted his chickens" by mentioing or singing about wembley (or should that be wembly?) when they had secured a 3-1 first leg advantage only for them to be done 3-0 in the second leg.
Standard. My mate drove one of the supporters coaches that night. He borrowed a City scarf from me and put it up for the journey home.

Bloody hell Tom that’s a name to pull out of the hat, he was another of those who was going to make them millionaires wasn’t he?
Ended up at Yate after leaving the mighty Port Vale, I believe.
He was the arse having a go at City fans on Twitter because Leeds went up. Came across as a right knob

Do any of them ever tell the truth?
Or maybe like most of the blue few he doesn’t actually go to matches so they could be playing in Frankie and Bennys for all he knows.
Also the point of the interview was to talk about getting kits of teams the Sags have played yet he is wearing a Sampdoria shirt. Have they played them?

BBC News - Bristol Rovers football shirt fan close to away goal
https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-bristol-53734494Bonkers!
Something not quite right in the Sags memory. He states his first match was at Eastville in 1988 but they were already in Bath then.

Not quite true - I was player-manager of a local team for 12 years - we were the only team in the league that had to affiliate to the Somerset FA due to our location in south Bristol. It meant we had some very long away trips in the Cup!
Thanks for putting me right. I just assumed everyone was GFA because all the club's in my old league were.
