  1. My uninformed assumption would be that MA needed Marlon to leave to free up salary space for Afobe.
  2. I would play Palmer in Szmodics place and have Eliasson where Palmer is there. You can rotate Palmer and Szmodics
  3. I am hoping this is sarcasm and you have whooshed me. Massongo first played against our U18s for Monaco U18s a year ago and was watched at the summer Toulon Tournament. Nagy was heralded as playing very well at Euro 2016 for Hungary (and yes I did watch the games) plus has more than 30 International caps. I think the homework was done.
  4. I think that Pack and Paterson going is a good thing. I am not a big fan of Pack so glad we finally upgraded the midfield. Really excited about the signing of Nagy. He is far superior to Pack from what I saw at Euro 2016.
  5. Watching that video you can see he presses the last man well and looks better in a passing team. That MK Dons team passed very well. Not sure Stoke play the same way. He could suit our style
  6. Quite happy with this. Afobe was excellent in the MK Dons team that made the play offs during our League 1 Championship season. In fact got one and assisted one at AG. Got a move to Wolves and did well in the Championship. If we can get him firing we have a good striker.
  7. And managed Leeds as a second manager to stop the transfer
  8. Yes very unprofessional and I hope we choose not to deal with them in the future. I understand why Laurent Koscielny reacted like he did. Arsenal may have made promises to him then just reneged. At least I can now despise Arsenal and not pretend to my cousins they interest me.
  9. Arsenal can be blamed because they could reject Leeds approach. They chose not too. Also why inform us EN would not appear for the medical?
  10. Slightly off topic but the stature of the club was mentioned above. Does anyone think it interestin* that we can get goodEuropean players to sign for us but struggle with English based players. Is our reputation here that bad
  11. Don't think he was ever truly a fan. Always supported Liverpool.
  12. Personally I don’t think football should get an exemption I just feel the greed and perceived entitlement of the Premier League will ask for one. Sciences and medical where we are short should get exemptions
  13. I think it is purely that we can shop at the next level up now. We have proved that we can nurture players and get them to the Premier League so it interests youngsters. Also some the networking Mark Ashton and Lee Johnson are rumoured to have done opens up new avenues. Personally I think ‘the project’ has advanced and we can now get better talents. Good debate by the way.
  14. It is possible that the Premier League or FA could request the Home Office relaxes the regulations for EU countries as a special dispensation to football. There is so much money in football I suspect this may happen
  15. That is a retro kit. Hummel did lots of these late 80s based on the Denmark kit at Mexico 86. Saints and Coventry had Hummel back then
  16. This is the current ruling for work permits for Non EU so I assume post Brexit it will count. What are the criteria which will be used? Until 2015, football players needed to have played in at least 75% of their country’s senior international matches over the previous two years to play in the UK. Eligibility for a GBE now depends on a national team’s FIFA ranking, as follows: Official FIFA Ranking Required % of international matches in past 2 yrs FIFA 1-10 30% and above FIFA 11-20 45% and above
  17. Any player that signs this window will be fine. I would suggest that if we have a no deal Brexit then Europeans may require work permits for the January window.
  18. We had Tamas Vasko since on loan. Remember he scored at Burnley
  19. I can just imagine him thinking how does this talentless player Pack get picked every week
  20. Thanks Spudski, was unaware we scout there regularly. That really does show how far we have come. There are very good young talents at the Toulon.
  21. Bob, there is a lot about this deal that just adds up. As you say Jamie Mac scouted the Toulon Tournament plus we just employ a French speaking coach who just happens to have played this lad’s position. This lad has been monitored and the are acting professionally to help him settle and grow. Our transfer department really has improved so is it a shock we get such large sums now for our players?
  22. Is anyone else going to a game tomorrow? I am ground hopping so going to London Stadium for West Ham vs Athletic Bilbao. Only a tenner too
  23. Changed to that horrible orange when EasyJet used to sponsor then.
  24. Just see on asschat that some of the fewers would like to get Taylor back, then one sensibly says that we wouldn't sell to them. Does he not realise it was their owner that said no more deals between the two clubs?
  25. Howard Gayle was the main Blackburn forward. Speedier joined at least a year later
