  1. Absolute quality, really enjoyed that
  2. I was at that game, crowd of 10000 plus I seem to remember. Can not remember score, might have been a draw, Spurs went on to win trophy (again, I think)
  3. I might have this wrong as time tends to play tricks on you but didn’t Norman get sent off with Peter Cormack in an away Anglo Scottish cup game?
  4. Gerry Gow & Alan Walsh. I just missed the Atyeo years. With regards to Norman, I think we all expected him to come down here and kick people all over the place, we were in for a big surprise because he could really play and was a joy to watch. A mate’s dad has been watching City for 75 years, he says Hunter right up there with Atyeo in his opinion
  5. From my memory he used to warm up a few yards in from touch line, in line with pillar 6? which was where me and my mates stood every home game. Loved watching Norman play for City and would certainly include him in my top 3 City players in my lifetime
  6. Blimey you are correct, just done a bit of checking I think it was August 1995
  7. I have 2 goals that I missed David Seal v Stockport ? at home in the 80’s, due to a toilet break, apparently it was a screamer from distance. Jimmy Mann v Forest, I wasn’t in the stadium as I was playing football elsewhere, again a screamer from distance. To this day I have never seen either goal on tv or any other platform.
  8. The Orchard. Used to go in the Sports Bar at the ground but really don’t like in there any more especially since prices went up
  9. Did I see Alan Dicks running on to the pitch for Chelsea near the start off the programme, when Jimmy Greaves made his debut ?
  10. Daily Mail and others behind a campaign to get him knighted, long overdue in my opinion
  11. Hopefully my memory serves me well but feel free to correct me Previous to the “Park End” in approximately 73/74 I remember some City lads being in the open end V Luton where it kicked off before the game and a City lad getting knifed.
  12. I was also there, was it a late Dave Smith winner?
  13. Traffic was light Clarkes pie van was there. Shrewsbury were good to watch.
  14. I go in a group of about 20 usually, only 2 of us bothering Saturday. I am expecting a very low crowd.
  15. Love the thread title, I was thinking of starting one that read “O’dowda, what’s the point?” he was unbelievably useless today
  16. Growing up in the 70s & 80s I really disliked Liverpool because they were winning everything but I find it very difficult to dislike them now Klopp is in charge, he is just a very likeable chap.
  17. Agreed, absolutely not 4-4-2. Their game plan was executed brilliantly, think they identified a weakness on our left side and exploited it particularly in the first half
  18. Swansea at home last season was the last time I left Ashton Gate and said “we played well” However I think that LJ has looked at the squad/team and found a way of playing that produces results rather than pretty performances, especially with our lack of quality in the forward areas. At present we are not going to beat anyone 3 or 4 nil, it’s a very pragmatic approach to get the maximum reward with the players we have. To have lost only 2 games this season is remarkable in my opinion.. Hopefully in January we can add to the squad and be a bit more offensive.
  19. Love him or hate him he’s the best option we have at the moment.
  20. I might be wrong here but I think it’s a business venture by one of their players, Rodman perhaps?
  21. He admitted to supporting Bath rugby on talk sport last week because of the venue where Bristol play. Small minded or what!!!!
  22. Will “cashless” mean that they accept debit/credit cards or will it be like several foreign clubs where you have a dedicated charge card which you continually “top up” on the premises ?
  23. Did you play on the top of St George’s Park using the trees as goal posts like we did (late 60’s, early 70’s)
