Our form from February onwards and the signings we've made this summer have made me very optimistic about our chances this coming season. In fact, at 11-1 to.get promoted I've decided to have a flutter at that price.

It's a myth that tackle ended Haalands career as it was a previous injury to the opposite knee that ended it. He even took Keane to court over it which Keane won due to it not being the leg Keane made contact with. A disgraceful tackle all the same though.

Whilst Cornick hasn't torn up any trees so far so for us, he certainly hasn't been terrible and you can see he is trying. A new signing trying to fit into a side that has been struggling for the bulk of the season not having a huge impact straight away is expected. Agree with all of the above. When we first started spending heavy on getting a Cat B academy a fair few people on here were wary of a club our size spending upwards of £1m+ per annum, which to a small degree I could understand. 10 years later we are starting to see the fruits of our labour and a return on the investment made by the club. The irony is, if it was just Scott and Semenyo who were making an impact at first team level you could still argue that the academy still wasn't producing as they didnt actually come through it but considering we have seen the likes of Conway, Bell, Kadji and others making appearances this season, nobody can be in doubt it's working now. A huge credit goes to all the academy staff, both past and present, for getting us to where we are now. Tinnion definitely deserved his promotion in the summer and that will ensure his ethos of promoting youth should continue for years to come. At long last, the club seem to be doing something right and something we fans can be proud of. Long may it continue.

The one thing that keeps coming to mind when I think of where we can be as a club is what Brian Tinnion said last year with regards to the academy players in the first team and that is, although we blooded a fair few which was impressive, the next lot coming through are even better. Considering we have had Antoine, Alex Scott, Ayman Benarous and now Tommy Conway making an impact thats a huge endorsement. Maybe, just maybe, we can afford to sell one or two of these to dig us out of the financial hole we're in and replace them with kids who cost us nothing in transfer fees and who can still make us a better team? Maybe I'm clinging to straws after too many false dawns but I honestly feel very optimistic of our long term future. If we suffer a bit in the short term, I can live with that.

There seems to be a fair few people on here who have forgotten how bad it got under LJ and Holden. Very few shots on target let alone goals, game after game... yet are happy to scapegoat Pearson who hasn't, relatively, had a pot to piss in financially yet we are now a team that look like, and have been, scoring every game. As a club we have needed a massive seachange in structure, finances and expectations. The club are doing their bit for the first two, yet some fans still can't understand the third bit. Smacks of entitlement to me, and of people who have no idea how hard it is to win games of football.

Happy with survival as thought this year would be tough. Even happier that we actually look like we can score goals which wasn't the case under LJ's last season and under Holden. Also, they both had money to spend and we were still no threat in attack Sort the defence out and get a little bit more strength in depth and it' certainly could be looking a bit more positive.

That is a common misconception. Haaland retired due to a reoccurring injury to his left knee, not because of the damage Keane did to his right knee. Horrendous tackle, nonetheless. Still, the worst tackle i have ever seen is this one.... Makes me chuckle that Souness had the audacity to point to his leg like he was the one that had been caught ?

He's 20 years old. At that age my bad days outnumbered my good ones as I'm sure it did for a lot of us. There certainly wasn't a lack of effort from Han. Alex Scott was just as poor and there doesn't seem to be the same accusations laid at his door. Personally, I don't think there's anything in today more than that.

I see it slightly differently. When he came into the team under Holden he was one of the few players who would look for the forward pass, whether from deep or in a more advanced position and was one of our more positive players in a time when we were utter dogshit offensively. Problem was he would split the lines once in the first 10-20mins of the game with a decent bit of vision and think this is easy and start walking around like he was Glen Hoddle. Inevitably the game then passed him by. The issue with Tyreeq isn't his feet, it's in his head, which, for me, makes it even more frustrating

Antoine came into the pro game quite late so never had the academy coaching that most pro's have had. It was always about raw potential. After a few years of being coached properly he has now learnt how to use his natural talents for the greater good of the team. Let's face it, he is quick, powerful and can go past players for fun. He just needed to learn how and when to shoot or pass at the appropriate time, which he is now doing. I personally think there's a lot more to come from Antoine and he will only get better

With Bakinson I've always had the impression that through his youth he's been the best footballer wherever he's played without having to put much effort in. He then got signed by us as a top prospect which kind of justified his belief that he's a great talent and that will be enough. The problem with him now is he still seems to think that ability alone is enough, when the reality is he is now surrounded by people who were also the best players growing up, and the majority of these players have now realised that you have to work extra hard in the pro game to make it as a player at thus standard. I hope the penny drops for him sooner rather than later as there is definitely a player in there. He needs to realise talent alone isn't enough before its too late

As disappointing as that is to the normal person, football clubs seems to have a history of ignoring disgraceful actions by players if they feel its in their own best interests. Take Ched Evans for example. Yes, his conviction was, eventually, overturned, but his actions that night were less than desirable (to put it mildly) yet he still manages to get contracts. Greenwood, being a player of huge potential, will almost certainly have interest if/when found guilty, once his sentence is served. Football is the greatest sport on earth, but its morals are usually in the gutter.

Spudski, condolences to you about your dad. With regards to the virus, my decision to originally be double-jabbed and then have a booster has been based on 2 things. Firstly, the mortality rate since people have received a vaccine has dropped dramatically in comparison to the first and second wave of infections, prior to the vaccine rollout. Even now, with record infections, this is still the case. To me, the vaccines are working. Secondly, I want to be able to look at myself in the mirror every day and know that I did everything possible to try and stop me spreading it to some poor soul who may die from it.

Towards the end of his time at Man Utd Ferguson mainly delegated all the coaching to his staff. He was more hands-on earlier on his career though.

Away at Preston last game of the season mid to late 90's. Drove up, couldnt get a ticket so walked back to the car to listen to the game on the radio as all the pubs were shut. Lo and behold, the local commentary was Burnley vs The Gas. City lost and we lost one of our mates and spent hours trying to find him (before everyone had mobile phones). Got back to Bristol around 9:30pm.to find pur mate in the pub as he forgot where we parked so jumped on a supporters coach.

Echoing all above, I thought he was excellent. I thought it was telling when Alex Ball said on the commentary for the Millwall game that Williams was one of the most competitive players he has come across and he even argues with him when he refs 5 a-side games in training.
