This isn’t the first time a non-terrestrial provider has had the rights mind, Sky used to and aired a fair few of our games against the likes of Bradford Park Avenue (and I want to say Harrogate?) during that period.

FA cup will die for me the moment they ditch replays.  I think that’s probably the only thing making it “special” that remains.

Games were also previously on ESPN and BT sports a well before the current contract with bbc and itv sharing.

55 for for me. I also watch Liverpool occasionally (mum’s family are from there) so done a few prem grounds with them but majority with City.

I believe to join the 92 club, they have to be the 92 league clubs in the season you join. I’ve lost a few that are no longer there, ie  done Highbury but not the emirates etc.

Anyone on here a member of the 92 club?

it’s the current 92 league teams and not the ones from when you start.

I’m an ex member of the 92 club! First ground was Ashton Gate 24/9/94. Exactly 17 years late was my 92nd league ground Gigg Lane for Bury vs MK Dons on 24/9/2011.

I think I’m now back down to the 70’s. As been a few new grounds not made it to yet as well as the non-league clubs that have been promoted.

overall I’ve been to around 120 grounds, probably about 40-50 of them watching city the rest as a neutral.

I could watch that back all night. Sitting in the Dolman, I only appreciated the brilliance of that goal when they played it back on the big screen. Bloodly amazing. I was, however, celebrating the goal before the ball had done little more than left Andi's foot. Sometimes you just know.

It also looked like Nahki was celebrating before the ball was past the keeper as well.

Slightly off topic but could anyone tell me why the Blackpool game on the 11th is at 12:30? it must make getting here from Blackpool a bit of an ordeal for their fans being so early.

    It’s live on Sky.

Williams will be fired up for certain, though he has nothing to prove to them.

Certain Wigan players (especially McClean?) and the home crowd will be eager to wind him up.

Joe will need to keep a cool head and stay focused on playing as well as he has done recently.

Nothing is as important as getting another three precious points and keeping our momentum going.

Wigan are the away team, i would guess won't be many of them at the gate on Wednesday to wind him up.

Got the grey / orange shirt for my boy today, it really is a thing of beauty, so much so I’ve got one for myself (the first one I’ve got since our Adidas days).  The sizings are questionable though aren’t they?!  99% of the time a large will fit me with a bit of wriggle room no problem, however it’s almost skin tight on the replica shirt and XL was required

I got one a few weeks ago. Went into the club shop as nearby and wanted to try it out for size. I could get in the medium but was uncomfortable, the large was a better fit but felt a bit tight round shoulders and back so left with an XL that fitted comfortably but possibly a tad too big round the belly.

I always thought you couldn't charge more than you charge the away fans.

No,no I see it's the other way around isn't it?

You can't charge the away fans more than the home ticket prices?

Is there such a rule, or am 8 talking absolute plop?

I thought the rule was. You can’t charge away fans more for sitting in the same stand or equivalent  area as the home fans with similar facilities.

for example if home fans were in the Atyeo we couldn’t charge home fans £20 (unless on a special offer not every game price) and away fans £30. As the stand/facilities/view would be the same.

As for most games away fans are in there on their own, they could only pay the same as the south stand, although due to the amenities in there likely they’d have to pay less in the Atyeo compared to South stand.

He also (nearly) sells out big venues at £100 a ticket whenever he feels the need, and done that for the last 10/15 years.
I think he owns his own rights as well, so almost everything goes to him.

Not sure how much of a cut he gets out of all the merchandise. However on Wednesday they sold loads of stuff so must make a good living just off those sales.

These photos are just minutes before the start of the concert

I'm surprised how empty the stadium is

I went to go get a soft drink about 10 mins before the start and all the bars round the concourse and outside of the bowl were rammed. I think that was why so many empty seats still just before he got going. Although south stand did look relatively empty.

  10. Email just received from Ashton Gate:

Our postal delivery partner has just informed us that the tickets which were sent out last week from Ashton Gate for Elton John’s concerts tomorrow (Wednesday) and Sunday have not been distributed by them. Obviously we are extremely disappointed by this and have now taken measures to make it as easy as possible for you to collect your tickets on the day.

From 12 noon tomorrow (Wednesday), our hospitality team will be stationed to greet you at the main Winterstoke Road entrance to the stadium (postcode BS3 2LQ). If you would like to collect your tickets before the official opening time of 4pm you are welcome to do so. Please note there is no access past this collection point until 4pm when the Fan Village and Stadium officially opens.

On arrival at Gate 1 (Picture A below) make your way to the left – you will see the Wedlock Wall (as below Picture B) to the left of the Ticket Office – our hospitality team will be stationed here from 12 noon.

Picture B – Hospitality Collection Point
You can either collect all of your group’s hospitality tickets in one go i.e. if you are a small group and all arriving together. OR you can collect individual tickets on arrival separately. In order to do this, we will need a guest list so that we can ensure all of your guests are accommodated correctly. Please email us on: events@ashtongate.co.uk with your lead booker name and the guestlist and we will look after the rest.

Thank you for your understanding – we are sincerely sorry for any inconvenience this may cause. It is regrettably out of our control, but we will do everything we can to make your evening with Elton one to remember!

The promoter was very late sending the tickets to the club who then got them processed and sent out as soon as possible, by 1st class post last Friday.

The woman i spoke with on the phone said there had been an issue with the first batch of tickets they had received as well.

I know mine won't be here in time as walked past the postie after she'd gone past our house and nothing in the post box, so I'll be calling up for re-prints in the morning.

All wages would be included in the total FFP package save for those excluded for the regular excluded areas- shares would be a form of remuneration surely?

Interesting angle though, maybe not impossible although gaming the system for sure and and doubt it'd be accepted.

Isn't the giving players shares in a business (sports club or another linked to a business the owner is involved with) what caused part of the problem for Saracens Rugby Club. In the Owner invested in business ventures or gave shares to the players in those businesses instead of paying them through the club. To get around their salary cap rules. So I'm sure would be similar within the world of football and the various FFP regs to stop that happening, however this is the EFL so might be a massive wide loophole they've left open.

No it’s broadcast footage from two different sources with cameras on opposite sides of the pitch. It would be like ITV showing the game from the Dolman and BBC showing it from the Lansdown. Don’t understand why they’d do that.

I think they do that and have different ad boards for the different nation on the other side of the ground.

im sure I’ve seen it when England played away in Sweden. We could see the English as boards. When they did a reverse angle they had local ad boards the other side of the ground.
I guess they can get more advertising money by having the two sets of ad boards.
