I think the main attribute Mehmeti misses (and the others possess in the same position) is real pace and the ability to get past a player. That seems quite obvious, whether it’s enough to give a seemingly very talented player very limited minutes when we have a small injury ravaged squad and very little attacking options is another question only NP knows the answer to

The key difference for me between Max and Dan was always Max's ability with the ball at his feet. Its become such an important role now for Keepers to be able to make pinpoint long range passes to start attacking plays, and very recently his kicking in the Plymouth game was brilliant. Nigel has been trying to implement playing out from the back ever since he became our Manager and it starts with the GK.

I knew Scott very well (he took my younger sister to Prom) and he was actually due to sign for City before going to Preston. Everything was agreed (a 2yr deal with optional 3rd year) but Preston came in late with better contract offer (ie more money) and he openly admitted to me that although he’s a boyhood City fan, he had to make the right decision for family and as he believed it would be his final big contract he accepted Preston’s offer instead. As stated above City did indeed try to sign him again but injury put curse on that. City had also had him on trial whilst he was 14/15 but decided he was too small and wouldn’t make it as a footballer, an all too common theme many years ago……

Including the Semenyo sale (10min) and deducting Cornick (500k approx) and Mehmeit (1m approx) from January - that’s pocketed Bristol City/SL a cool £30 million over 2 windows.

I don’t see many natural pairings in our front players thou, and you’d be making players like Mehmeti and Sykes pretty redundant with no wing positions. I don’t see Bell as a striker either He’s bought players for a 433 formation with 2 players (when everyone is fit) battling for 1 position on the pitch so that’s what we will be doing, regardless of injuries or form

I was thinking this last night in regards to TGH loan move - it says a deal was "option to buy included" but who has the final say on this? For example, if he has a successful year and City decide to activate the pre agreed amount (apparently 1.3 million) do West Brom still have to agree to the deal, or is it solely up to City whether we continue with the pre agreed deal?

Surely Cornick would be a better option through the middle as he’s more likely to win something in the air, and probably has more championship experience in that position, let alone Bell being more effective playing from wide and cutting in

I would imagine the main squad will be split in 2 fixtures to give maximum amount of playing time for main squad, with both teams supplemented by fringe/u23 players

If City were reasonably confident of selling Scott in the coming days/weeks then surely its in the clubs best interests to try signing players (or at least agree a fee) before officially Scott, as selling clubs would obviously use the fact we have just received a hefty initial payment against us during negotiations.

No chance will half the money be reinvested. I could see City signings 2-3 players within 5million budget to Improve the squad in weak areas

And I’m sure a decent sell on (and maybe buy back) clause would be in the deal
