  1. Assuming we are neither promoted nor relegated (which looks a pretty safe assumption), next season will be our 7th consecutive season in the 2nd tier. That hasn't happened since Alan Dicks was manager. A mere FOUR years ago we finished 17th in the Championship, having finished 18th the previous season. It's not that long ago that we spent 8 consecutive seasons in the 3rd tier (ending in 2007). Now we are a well-established top half Championship side. TV commentators keep describing us as a Premier League club in waiting. Our infrastructure has been transformed in recent years.
  2. Definitely keep. Seems to be a pretty unanimous view from the City fans on this thread.
  3. Just because the gesture might have less effect as time goes on doesn't mean that it now has a negative effect. Will that do?
  4. Dyche's comments are absolute nonsense. Money isn't the constraint on the vaccination programme (or a lot else) at the moment. If they want to help the NHS, then they can donate some of their vast wealth without linking it to vaccinations. What would make a difference would be if all professional footballers started obeying the ****ing lockdown rules, rather than continuing to behave like the spoilt little rich kids they are.
  5. I've just signed up for the FA Player after days of trying and failing on different devices and with different browsers. Eventually I contacted the help email address this morning and they responded within a couple of hours. In my case the problem was an apostrophe in the second line of address. Apparently other characters such as - or / can also cause the registration process to fail. Rather than using the address finder, if you select the "I'm not in the UK" option and enter your address manually (without the offending characters) then this solves the problem. Poor
  6. Derby, Wednesday and Forest to go down
  7. Sean Dyche. Wonder where he is now?
  8. I do worry about you. After the high of Thursday night you must be absolutely gutted at how the league season is panning out
  9. I confidently predict that Holden won't make a save all season
  10. Maybe we made them look dreadful? They hadn't conceded before today. Bet you were gutted again
  11. Leave it Chris, you flunked the interview, move on ...
  12. Or, put it another way, someone who's really motivated and is brimming with ideas, or someone who just sees us as the next pay cheque, assumes he'll breeze the interview and can't be bothered even to do a bit of preparation
  13. Alleged breach of contract, according to Wales online
  14. You really don't get it do you. Racism is still a major problem. And the fact that it's no longer blatant makes it far more difficult to address.
  15. We were a club yo-yoing between the bottom half of the Championship (if we were lucky) and League 1. We are now credible play-off contenders, with the infrastructure to match, and hopefully still improving. I don't call that failure. If you're not a critic of SL, I'd hate to see someone who is.
  16. For those of you citing crime figures to justify racist statements, take a long look in the mirror (if it does nothing else, it will keep you off here for a while, and you'll also know what a racist looks like). It's not that simple. You need to take account of the bias that has existed for decades throughout society (including the education system, employment opportunities, what the media tell you about your place in society, etc). Generations have been deprived of life chances, told that they have no place in the upper echelons of government, business and pretty much any institution you
  17. Two days ago you said you had had enough. But obviously not, as you carry on delighting us with your wit and wisdom ...
  18. I stopped reading after the highlighted lie. But I did read the first line. How many times must someone point out that every club outside the absolute elite is a selling club. We just happen to have got much better at spotting and developing talent in recent years. Surely that's a good thing. Even Arsenal used to sell many of their best players, which is how Wenger managed to keep them competitive with clubs with much bigger budgets for many years. We're in a much much better position than we have been for a very long time. And yet people moan and moan and moan and moan and moan ..
  19. I really don't get all this doom and gloom. My first match at Ashton Gate was an FA Cup tie (in 1984 I think?) between City (Div 4, now called League 2) and Notts County (Div 1, now called the Premier League). How times have changed .... After having seen far too many matches in the third and fourth tiers, and visited far too many crap grounds with no atmosphere, I really think the club is now in a better position than it has been for a very long time. Losing at Wembley in 2008 was of course enormously disappointing, but on the other hand I feared for what would have happened had we go
  20. This thread is truly embarrassing, especially when quite a few clubs are actually achieving success by appointing from within (think of this year's play off managers - two internal appointments, another with only England youth managerial experience, and a fourth who had been an internal appointment at his previous club), and others are floundering with managers that have achieved success in the past but may now be on the way down. Where did Bournemouth get Eddie Howe from, and haven't they just appointed his assistant? Anyone would think there is magic formula for finding a successful man
