  1. Taunton have been paying players big money for the last 4-5 years, this was always on the cards. Lloyd Irish who has come out with this statement, actually left Taunton 18 months ago to play for Barnstaple. At the time Barnstaple had a new chairman and were throwing cash to players. Irish soon returned to Taunton when Barnstaple got relegated, and that money stopped being paid.. I think that tells you everything about him as a person. It seems the money is more important than any kind of loyalty. Taunton rely solely on gate money to pay their high wages, so potentially this was going to happen sooner or later.
  2. Actually i got it wrong, it was “steaming in”, not Fever Pitch
  3. I think it’s Nick Hornby’s book “fever pitch” that covers the episode when Arsenal came into the East end, and got smashed.
  4. Hull look so more comfortable on the ball. Every time they go forward they look very dangerous. Technically they look better than us.
  5. I was there tonight, City stopped Stoke from being able to play, it wasn’t an organised press of any kind, just really quick closing down all over the pitch. As said above, City’s no 7 is ‘very’ pacy, and Stoke’s left back really struggled against him all evening. City controlled the game for 75% of the time, and looked decent all over the pitch. Thought the referee was superb as well.
  6. Take it from me, anyone who stops going, and goes and watches non league football, won’t regret it. Best thing I’ve done, no stress, enjoy the football, easy parking, no queuing, close to the pitch and proper football. You even see shots on goal, and goal mouth action . A rarity at AG!.
  7. I walked away from the club when LJ was put in charge, 45 years of home and away travel. i don’t regret it for a moment, the club couldn’t care less about the support they get, it’s all about the control those at the top have/want. Obviously I still read the forum, I see how angry and frustrated everyone is, well, you have a choice, stop going like I did, you will start enjoying your football again. There is plenty of football out there to watch and enjoy, I can vouch for that.
  8. I’ve got 20, do I get to use SL’s private jet
  9. Was living in New Zealand in the late 80’s, was in work and my Managing director was showing a visitor around, they both walked up to me to chat, and the visitor was wearing a silver Bristol City tie with the Robin crest on the front!. Needless to say, we ended up having a long chat, which I don’t think my MD was too happy about!.
  10. Awful defending by Vyner. One ball lumped forewords and he was unable to cope.
  11. Pass, pass, keep the ball……. then continues hopeful balls into the box. We have zero guile or creativity in the last third. Even a one-two would be nice!.
  12. They aren’t outdated though. You could potentially have 11 players in a team knocked out of the 2nd round today, then they all play in the third round for the team that beat them!.
  13. It doesn’t matter, there are rules, the clubs know what they are, if they break them they have to accept the consequences.
  14. The real problem is the amount of young referees who are quitting the game, assaults are now common practice in non league grassroots games. These ‘were’ the future referees.
  15. I’ve no opinion either if he’s good or bad as a football manager. My only thoughts are, when you are talking to someone, you look at that person.
  16. Was there something on the floor!. It was a hard watch imo.
  17. I’m surprised that others are surprised we haven’t signed anyone else. I’m sure Pearson said in an interview about a week ago, that all business was done.
  18. Thought this may interest some of you.
  19. Living in Somerset myself, I have had to listen to her numerous times over the last couple of years. She has been the commentator on all of Yeovil’s games. She is 100% not the sort of commentator I want to listen to, I can’t handle the screeching voice, it drives me nuts.
  20. Thanks mate, much appreciated ?
  21. I’m slightly hijacking this thread!!. I have bought 3 digital tickets for the Bristol Bears v Exeter Chiefs. They are for someone else, is it easy to send these tickets on to another person ?
  22. The Bountyhunter was different class, no City fanzine has ever come close to being as good as it was.
  23. Boxing Day, potentially Plymouth.
  24. They weren’t good either, but Pulis and Osman didn’t have the luxury of spending the massive amount of money Johnson was able too. I think it was four transfer windows he said he needed?. Whereas he was actually doing alright until he let all of Cotterill’s players go and bought his own in!. He was given all the riches, and dismally failed. I actually quite liked him as a player, as a manager he ended up sending me to sleep!.
