  1. That’s the spirit! I guess nine games is league games without looking. Anything can happen. We are the in form team. A lot will depend on who in a congested league plays who in the coming weeks and if we stay in form But the likelihood is we will be short. But if we knew none of us would go, right?
  2. Thanks Dave. I would suggest if it’s 900 + add ons that could be because it all needed to be done at the death of the transfer window which would have given WW a little leverage as they could have dragged things out. A release clause was almost certainly in place for us to get him for that, but how quickly and efficiently you release anything is open to interpretation. Like anything I guess. Who on earth outside City and WW knew there was a release could be a factor. I can’t believe we were the only club that was watching him. But who knows!
  3. A couple of times i noticed him/and Scott both having really fast feet while playing the ball to each other. A shame he is cup tied. Someone mentioned cost in the thread. I know it was a WW club record, but I noticed Norwich fans saying we paid 5M, which I don’t believe for a second, however does anyone have a actual clue
  4. I’m not sure about the very very M, but it may have got a bit spicy on here once or twice. Yes he did joke about, but i never had the impression he was that close where it mattered as he was very specifically following his remit.
  5. I yelled straight away! I was almost in line…Pen all day long!!
  6. All those on here, the radio and various podcasts wanting the bloke sacked. Some well over a year ago. The one bloke on a well known poddy was losing it 18 months ago (no not that one)
  7. Oh my god!……Mental! What a pair!
  8. Such sad news. always thought he was very forthright!
  9. There is no other winner! Please mods close the thread
  10. Sat next to him At Gerry Gows testimonial dinner. What a top bloke. We sat chatting for ages about the club and he introduced me to AD Gerry Sweeney and Clive Whitehead as I said I was away at Millwall for his debut which he scored, among others. He Also chatted to my Mrs for ages. Jonathon Pierce was on Brian’s right and we had a bit of a chat about the 70s as we are approximately the same age. If anyone on the thread knows him give him my and my Mrs regards. He will remember the bloke from Chicago I’m sure!!
  11. Against Hull maybe! Is he not cup tied!? Looking at the stats he played for 26 minutes against Walsall in the first round (lost)
  12. I now await comrade @REDOXO's reply - "That's the spirit!" So perhaps it will be Alex Scott keeping Kalvin Phillips in his back pocket as he leads the home team to a famous victory. That's the spirit! ————— If we do get a result you are credited with the assist! In my opinion we will need a little luck and a team that plays counter attacking football which we do! I would absolutely start Wells and Bell if fit. Sykes is a shoe ? in and Williams Scott and James if fit. The back four and goalkeeper pick themselves and I particularly expect Kalas is right up for it. Bell is as fast as anything in any division, so I expect Walker to have a torrid night and Scott up against DeBruyne and or Grealish will be fun. However I think Cam Pring could have a huge influence on the game.
  13. They weren’t great second half today. I am a Bristol City fundamentalist and always think we can win. In this case maybe 90/10 against but they were the same odds not so many years ago against Utd and we gave City quite a scare. Im coming a long way to take up my seat for this one and wouldn’t be if I thought it was going to be fish in a barrel. See you there!
  14. W H A T? It was a comment about a song. Have you done your homework?
  15. Who knows what his plan is outside of his already stated intent to invite investment, which in MnA terms (and fairly obviously) is signaling in of itself. If that’s a sale of shares wholly or partially that’s up to him if there is a willing buyer Selling sooner or down the line is dependent on interest and whether an offer is made that is acceptable As for FFP nothing change’s obviously. The wild card here is SL inviting ‘ investment’ for Bristol City and/or Bristol Sport and/ or all facilities? If you are a seller of an entity/business that has value and you have effective complete ownership it’s often about wanting to move on as much as the financial value and SLs life won’t change because he may of Put in more than he gets financially from the club/s he owns!
  16. Yep. But we don’t know about decision making the bloke now responsible has thrown out his name and that’s that, unless you know something? Im just happy Scudamor is in someway involved in an effective way and I think I would be hard pressed to find anyone that wasn’t A privately held (which we effectively are) corporation tends to worry a lot less about governance, for obvious reasons, particularly as it’s clear who the ‘governor’ is and that individual is aware of what’s being done in his name. I would be interested to know if there is any potential buyers around right now!
  17. You sound like your in MnA!! Mr Scudamore is obviously consulting to his friends at the club, maybe not even in a paid capacity, who knows, and as you allude has been a little while. As you know people at high level in business talk to gain perspective and maybe even a little advice about associated areas that are not core competencies, which I think fits the bill here. I would not list any of that for public consumption, as someone once said to me, “ who I choose to have coffee with is none of anyones business” Nevertheless it’s no longer a secret that there is an association beyond a season ticket, and one or two who gave me abuse when I said it months ago may officially now go **** themselves (not you Ajax)
  18. FBC had a great poddy yesterday, however I also really enjoyed tonight’s show! The comments made by Colin in the interview they played, regarding the only place he wants to be hated is (or words to that effect) Bristol City were outstanding. Having Neil Warnock on the show now is a must!! You guys who are on regularly really have to have a word with Geoff to make it happen!
  19. I think Ian is saying that it’s a tight league with little between the bulk of the teams. I’ve seen quite a bit of good football and games are tight, so perhaps the word average is a little out of context. Or perhaps it’s meant as a barb, that we are sixteenth in an average league, who knows! A lot on the poddy has been said about who is coming down v who is going up and increased difficulty. I don’t really see a big difference with the usual suspects flirting with relegation and Sheff Wed with there biggish crowds possibly getting promotion. One thing for certain if we don’t make a mad dash for a play off spot and go up this season we look as though we are nicely placed for next.
  20. Yes it was pouring rain. The season before or after we beat them 2/1 I think. We did a corner routine and Geof Merrick had the ball cleared off the line. From the resulting corner we did it again and Geoff scored. I think Terry Neil was playing for them.
