Ah, I live in Nottm too - and have done for a very long time - and my Forest supporting mates do indeed have an avuncular sort of attitude to the Notts fans…. but my word the Notts fans frigging hate Forest, and the patronising ‘they’re quite cute really’ attitude of the Forest fans absolutely presses their buttons. I’d love us to have a similar sort of relationship to the Rovers, not only because it would cement our dominance over them, but also because their fans would absolutely hate it. Give it another 10 years or so, and we could get there. Bring it on!

Just because we have sold them three players we are no more a feeder club for them than than Derby or Oxford are feeder clubs for us. We have seen absolutely no hint that there are formal or informal relationships between us and other clubs to either develop players for them, or for them to develop players for us. I’m repeating a point made by others, but surely you can see that Premier League finances - as soon as a team get there - change the calculus of what ‘size’ a club is. For the moment, the resources Bournemouth have put them in a vastly more privileged financial status to any Championship club, absolutely irrespective of fan base, size of stadium or any other metric.

Bristol City should not a ‘selling club’ even though the likes of ooh, I don’t know, Manchester United recognise financial reality and sell CR7 in the appropriate circumstances How many times have football fans discussed and recognised that all but a handful of clubs in the world (add the Saudi ones to that skinny number) who aren’t in that position, but in your myopic particularism you reckon that BCFC ought to included. For pity’s sake.
