It is incredible isn't it? Supposedly finished in 2026, which is when I’ll go and see it again.

What really took my breath away was the inside. The outside is spectacular, but you can see photos of it, so it’s not a big surprise, apart maybe from the scale. But I really hadn’t expected how beautiful it is inside.

Yes, we’re planning to go again when it’s finished. Trouble is, I think half the world has the same idea.

    Thanks Silvio.

I do check in with the OS daily, so must have missed it.

I sympathise, Sleepy! It was evidently there, as @Silvio Dante’s link shows…..but I looked and didn’t see it yesterday either. It would be good to have a proper fixture list somewhere.

A friend confirmed it, so I was able to make it, and I enjoyed it. I saw the Sheff Weds game a couple of weeks ago and left feeling that there was no-one going to get anywhere near the first team squad. I left feeling a bit more positive today. There were some good performances.

Why has virtually every thread turned into a "wedge issue"? Is this a City fans' forum or the Conservative Campaign Headquarters?

    Absolutely, 100%, spot on, CA.

This is, quite literally, the first thread on the football forum that I've even looked at for 6 weeks. The thread on the pre-match press conference before the Swansea game was the final straw for me. The place seemed to have become little more than an echo chamber of people looking for reasons to hate Manning.

I can't say I've missed it so wasn't thinking of looking, but I happened to see a 'latest post' headline and thought I'd be interested to see how Yeboah is progressing. Maybe find out how he's doing, some discussion on whether he's showing strengths, weaknesses, whether any of these might be a fit with our style and set up. None of it. About four posts about Yeboah and then it turns into 'reasons to slag off Manning' and 'Pearson v Manning' yet again.

    It's just pathetic.

It seems like little has changed in those 6 weeks, so thanks for confirming that! I'm off again!

I'm gob smacked you've never heard of cloud seeding. I thought everyone knew about it. It's been going on since the 40s.

It's been used to control weather in both good and bad ways.

Disrupt the weather of an ' enemy ' country, destroy it's produce, manipulate their export and profit. It's all documented.

In the same way people try to debunk chem trails. You've only got to look up in the skies to see it now. Water vapour vanishes. You get what are dismissed as thin veil clouds fogging the skies like a white mist.

We had blue skies, clouds and planes water vapour trails in the past. We now get that...as well as the Criss cross of trails that don't vanish, just spread into a white dull mist in the sky.

I've been in some countries where I've woken in the morning to be seen a criss cross pattern in the sky...not on any plane routes...white trails that just turn into one big thing white veil in the sky.

    Happened in California a lot.

I’ve heard of it as a concept, Spud. Just not that UAE are doing what they’re doing with those specific objectives. 👍

Where did you get the cloud seeding from? All ive read is it was a severe rainstorm, that effected most of the UAE and also Bahrain and Oman.

    Climate change.

I’d never heard of it either, but this article suggests a link.

And a Google comes up with quite a few references, from apparently reliable sources, to the UAE making a concerted effort to test this technology during 2024……….

It is surprising to hear that a driving licence is ok, mine has such a poorly contrasted and coloured photo of me I can hardly recognise myself. If I was at Security I wouldn't let me through!

The original photo was fine, it was the licence card process that managed to fade it.

Mrs ID still has her old paper licence. She’s never had to change anything on it so it’s never gone back to DVLA. So her passport is pretty much the only photographic ID she has!

I thought you needed a passport if flying to Dublin ? i should know as i've been there countless times but always used my passport (in saying that you don't need any ID when going to Ireland by boat)

No, flew there last month. Driving license is fine!

As someone who flies regularly, Sky Scanner is the best.

I’ve always used my passport for Dublin ( how big an airport is Dublin ffs huge )

It’s all about risk, isn’t it?

The fact is that, under the terms of the Common Travel Area agreement, Irish and UK citizens can travel freely between the two countries without the need for a passport. That’s the case however you travel and wherever you arrive.

But the point is the “Irish and UK citizens” bit. When you arrive there’s a risk that, at the border, someone might want evidence that you’re a UK citizen and therefore have the right to travel under the CTA.

The risk of that happening is much greater at Dublin airport. Because by the time you get to the border check you’re mixed up with people arriving from places all over the world. When you arrive on a boat everyone is coming from the UK. There’s still a risk you’ll be asked to prove you’re a UK citizen, but for obvious reasons the risk is less.

And for a UK citizen I don’t think we’ve got any way of proving that other than a passport.

We usually use Heathrow and hardly ever use Bristol but I will look into flights from Birmingham in future, roughly the same distance but not as busy .

Out of interest, why don’t you use Bristol?

The reason might be obvious (maybe you live in Hounslow!) or just be about where you fly to.

  9. Drivers licence is good as ID, and is normally enough.

However, in theory you could be asked to evidence that you’re a UK citizen. And both the UK and Irish government advice is to take a passport in case you’re asked to do this.
