  1. Err... I think you meant Joe Jordan? Neither TC or Bob Taylor left us for Hearts.
  2. No kidding it was 150/1 Friday night, the odds can change very quickly. Unless you're a regular, the maximum bet they'd allow at those odds is probably £10, so you're never going to get a life-changing amount of money. I wouldn't say we are certainly safe at this point, lose the next 3 league games, which is possible and we'll certainly be looking over our shoulders. For me there's an air of complacency over the place with these signings for next season.
  3. Some people scoffed when I said this and I must admit that I thought it would take longer than 6/7 weeks, but they've well and truly been reeled in by Leeds and Southampton. Will still make the Play-Offs at least barring a total collapse but you wouldn't fancy them against Leeds or Southampton.
  4. You're almost certainly correct but stranger things have happened in football. 150/1 at the bookies for relegation, so £100 would cost you £15,000 but I very much doubt bookies would allow the bet, prob max stake of £10 or £20. However its fair to say at least one of the bottom 4 will put a run of 3 or 4 consecutive wins together between now and the end of the season, probably when one of them appoints Warnock! The good news is that he can't manage two teams....
  5. Could be a decent signing at L2 if he avoids the curse of the returning player. Also he was apparently behind returning from injury Adam Le Fondre in the pecking order at Hibs. My big takeaway from that is Adam Le Fondre is still playing!
  6. Looks like they're about to lose Collins to Bolton for £750k. A player Joey Barton valued at £5 million. He has been rubbish for last 12 months though, clearly disgruntled since not getting a transfer away and who can blame him.
  7. Good effort, draw was fair. Not much threat upfront. Would like to see Wells and Conway together at least for 15 mins. Struggling to explain Chris Wood's header in the second half!
  8. Finally started working at half time for me, fine since but no sound.
  9. Good God! 363 pages of whining!!! that's a herculean effort but it can be summarised as:- "Always the victim, it's never their fault..." One question re: Man City, if they can go back 10 years or whatever for their breaches, does that open the door for more retrospective charges. e.g. Leicester, Bournemouth, Villa?
  10. It's a typo, they meant to say Chris Martin is 111. Sorry, the old ones are the best.
  11. Those are actually the dates but it's an odd bit of scheduling!! The FA must be assuming that no team could get to the FA Cup final and the Championship play-off final. While it's highly unlikely, it's certainly not impossible that say Leeds, Leicester or Southampton could get to both with a favourable run of cup draws. I mean Leicester won the FA Cup recently.
  12. Yes we couldn't score for toffee but Pulis permanently had Tony Thorpe on the bench. Could never understand that one. I don't know if it was the same game but I remember a Friday night home game v Wycombe that I drove down from London after work for. It was to this day the worst game of football I've ever seen. It was 0-0 and literally nothing happened in 90+ minutes. If they'd carried on playing for 24 hours it would have still been 0-0. I wish I'd left after 30 mins! I do sometimes wonder that if Pulis had stayed, would we have eventually have become Stoke City? i.e. top flight for a good time but with ugly hoofball football. It wasn't our choice anyway, hevwalked out to go to Plymouth or Portsmouth I think.
  13. Yeah what's that all about??? Maybe they can have bigger gigs at the stadium; if they take the stand down, there's a stage already there. Actually I genuinely think that might be what the thinking was, you can't really rule out anything where they're concerned.
  14. It's not just that they don't add up, it is literally insane. Every home supporter could be accomodated in hospitality! The costs were from 4 or 5 years ago and that includes a green business park. Building costs have gone through the roof since then and a large percentage of the UK workforce now work from home. The supporter base is more from the other side of Stroud than west and if he thinks large numbers from Gloucester or Cheltenham or even N Bristol will suddenly start watching he is catastrophically mistaken. The attendances are actually even worse than it appears because almost every other Sat game is Kids Go Free which adds 200-300. Last I read Dale Vince was worth £100 million but a high percentage of that is tied up in Ecotricity. So it could quite easily bankrupt him. Would that stop him going ahead, who knows???? His ego and thirst for publicity overrides everything. Last time I walked down that way J13 M5, Autumn last last year, work was proceding on the new training pitches. Well there were a couple of diggers and a vaguely flat bit of ground but I don't think anything has moved on any further since then.
  15. What about if he's the signing to stop us sleepwalking or even nosediving towards the relegation zone? The gap to the bottom 3/4 is a healthy one right now but last 3 league games have been poor and the next 5 are very tough. There's usually one team that sinks like a stone after Christmas.
  16. Seems pretty clear that Dabo's head has gone in one way or another. He was one missed penalty (his own) away from the Premier League last season but 4 months later he's ended up at the bottom of L2 playing in front of <2000. That's got to have an impact on even the most resilient of mindsets. Probably why no-one else picked him up when Cov let him go. He seemed to be fairly well regarded by the Cov supporters last season.
  17. Yeah my benchmark was that if he improves on NP's points per game this season I'll be happy and we'd be in the top 10 by May. It was looking good 3 games ago....
  18. Deeney may well be right but he seems to forget that, for almost 6 months, he's had a senior role on and off the pitch and I'm told his attitude on the pitch in that time was one of the worst. He scored I think 4 goals in total but 3 of those were in the same game which they lost. It's nothing but a circus under Dale Vince which is why I've had nothing to do with the club for many years now. The club became everything I hate about football. Ironically the least sustainable (financially) football club in the Football League. Top 5 or so budget in L2 on gates of 1500. Vince will still be happy though, lots more publicity in the national and probably international media today and tomorrow.
  19. Without a new investor, its a pointless exercise. If they were to walk out tomorrow it would be Administration, -10 points minimum and probable relegation. Until something/anything is confirmed about a takeover there is no choice.
  20. I could have sworn that I saw the new temporary stand at Wrexham was in use over Christmas? I think they only started building it in November. Amazing how having competent people in charge means that things actually get done in a timely manner...meanwhile over at Bristol Rovers...
  21. They've got to beat Wigan first
  22. Bit harsh of the chairman complaining that they've fallen down the league table when they've only played like 1 or 2 games in a couple of months!
