  1. Looks like in the main an inverse relationship ... between cards and league positions ...
  2. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/video/news/video-1504525/Lions-fans-tour-perform-Yorkshire-Haka-Auckland.html
  3. some huge crowds here! http://european-football-statistics.co.uk/attnclub/league/brir.htm
  4. Average crowds are historically superb just now .... but what is the story behind 1956? http://european-football-statistics.co.uk/attnclub/league/bric.htm
  5. If you read the detail this is more to do with political protest ... shame that we don't engage in politics like the Europeans ...
  6. "Seems mad though, 14-15 hours on busses and coaches for 90 minutes of football." Exactly which is why I gave up a few decades ago ... I will drive to Avebury after England win the World Cup Saturday morning, have a stroll across to the West Kennet Long Barrow, a beer in the Red Lion, up to Wroughton for the game versus Trowbridge and down the M4 to a friend's in Bristol Saturday night. Cost? Maybe £30 ... and far more relaxing than driving up north on a Friday night. Non League is the way forward ...
  7. no .... never heard of either .... I read the Express ...
  8. "Specifically with this deal and with any deal I have to ensure we protect ourselves financially but also ensure I balance the risk with bold action to ensure we continue to improve our quality going forward. Let me be absolutely clear that this particular loan, and indeed every loan, is structured to ensure we protect our financial exposure whilst simultaneously giving Lee and his staff the very best chance of achieving our shared goals. I hope I have given you the clarity." Crystal clear!!
  9. Anyone know if Vue Longwell Green have pay on the night tomorrow or do tickets have to have been booked in advance?
  10. Stewards are not always that switched on. My son was once asked to show his bag so he pulled up his shirt and showed his colostomy bag and said 'I need a loo urgently'. The steward didn't have a clue what this was all about so summoned his supervisor who immediately opened a disabled toilet with a radar key.
  11. It's a mentality issue. Even at local non league matches with crowds of 50-60 supporters leave early ... it doesn't happen at the cinema as somebody pointed out .... or at the theatre .... and talking of LJ and s*x  ... imagine saying to the partner 'we're almost there but I must go now'. It's daft .... just park about half a mile further away and walk for about ten minutes extra and traffic is far less of an issue. Trouble is too many supporters are joined at the hip to their cars and won't walk.

  13. Other regular bus services do exist from Yate to Bristol Y1 Y2 ...
  14. It's called price discrimination and it happens when there are distinct markets with different demand elasticities and no seepage between the two markets .... that is if I remember my Economics correctly! A very common business practice .... bit like when you pay £1.50p a litre on the M4 service station for petrol .... £1.25p in Tesco ... a pint at Ashton Gate far more expensive than in the local pub ... etc.
  15. A significant minority of football 'fans' are still morons ... FACT.
