  1. Not got a salary sacrifice pension scheme then? I won’t be paying national insurance again come next July - 55th birthday
  2. It saddens me that some are so happy to support the mediocrity they think lower attendances are a positive.
  3. You make him sound like the messiah but :- 1. He is not doing it for free 2. He genuinely believes he is best for this role (I avoided the word entitled on purpose because he is but not in the sense of deserving this role) 3. He does not respect fans as his 30 year comment and us and them mentality show (so thick it did not occur to him some of us have been a part of this club much longer and we have to pay for that) 4. He clearly had influence on people departing this club to his gain - he is a - no doubt about that 5. If it wasn’t for that one goal (and we weren’t so starved of historical success) he would have just been another decent left footed player who older generations remember played for us much like Alan Walsh. Good yes, legend no (and never will be remembered as such due to his failure as manager and impending failure we will soon see ending again in tears)
  4. When Nigel was here and things were bad he was honest with fans and detract blame from his players, he tried tinkering with the system slightly, personnel slightly and maybe switched the speed of play and where the line was to press. Liam is sticking to the same tactics, same formation generally, putting blame on the players already under pressure and changing the team regularly and it does not seem to be representative of who fans are seeing having a bad patch. It reminds me so much of LJ and what became known as his tombola team selection. Manning does not seem to know his strongest team and is not changing our style to combat the system of the opposition. Experience over inexperience I guess.

    Max

I like Max and think he is doing ok. I mainly want him to stay as whenever the camera shows him, he has a bewildered face and looks like a deer in headlights; makes me smile at the thought he doesn’t know the camera is on him so it is just his general demeanour. If he was in USA his name would be Jim-Bob and he would worry the sheep on his farm. A must stay for me
  6. Too many of our fan base like to complain but ultimately won’t do anything but renew and hope. This is why the Lansdowns and Tinnion can bury their heads and presume the boos and online criticism will go away as soon as we get a win or two. Tinns will finally post on X again after his latest ongoing hide-away spell and lots of the usual arse lickers will respond with “you’re a legend Tinns” convincing him even more he is untouchable and adored. City fans are as complicit as the senior management at accepting mediocrity so complaining on here is pointless, albeit fun. We will still be in the championship or league 1 come the 2030’s with our all mouth, no action fan base. Harsh but will be proven right come 31/12/29 !!
  7. Why was Sykes on the pitch is the better question; a shell of his former self and clearly nowhere near fit. It was not just a switch of sides; he couldn’t control a solid fart and that burst of pace we are used to seeing was sloth like
  8. They need to get Sam in the gym and really work hard on his body shape. I actually think 6 months of really hard work could produce a great wing-back / winger option for 24/25. He has the pace, can deliver a decent cross and the judgement of when to release and hold can be coached. He just needs the physicality to be able to shield the ball (ala Pring who looked a shell of the specimen he is now a couple of years back). I think if we get rid then that is a waste of talent that could haunt us As for Mehmeti - too many people who know football 10 times better than me tipped him for the very top so he needs to be taken out the firing line and let Manning, who really wanted to coach him, that opportunity. We are building for 24/25 so get on with it and let’s see less of both for a few weeks and then lots in pre-season to see if the hard work has paid off.

    Tins on RB

My major concern is (once again) one of the Lansdowns friends has massive power at this club and when it comes to the first team and knowing what it takes in this league the guy takes a then wipes the middle region of his arm
  10. Just noticed on bet 365 it is showing as one of the featured matches to bet on and has a “play” button so hopefully it will be available come the time

    Wells

I think reading anything in to Wells performance (or lack of) yesterday is probably slightly harsh because :- 1. He works best with a partner OR as a ‘pest’ type player in games where we are dominating possession and playing a lot in around the final third which was certainly not the case by the time he was introduced where we were very much being dominated in our half 2. He has seen very little football for a good few weeks so nowhere near up to pace needed As said by others he is getting on and maybe lacking a yard but I would hope he is still in around the squad until at least the end of 24/25 season as he has something to offer in the right circumstances and does “father figure” our younger attackers
  12. Phone them and tell them the issue and threaten to cancel - it will get done tomorrow then
  13. If it has got a bar code or (tech speak time) one of those black box things it will scan in the middle bit of the scanner (as opposed to on top where S/Ts go)
  14. Very reflective of Bristol. If I had a penny for every apple that fell out of an Amy Winehouse hair-do I would be able to afford a blond Mohawk too
  15. I am guessing they sell most (leave a bit of movement) and just fit you in so group sat together. We probably won’t know our seat numbers and rows until we receive/collect
  16. Same. I finally saw button at 10 and it said like 209 left in bottom tier but when I clicked in it said none left but then when I finished buying 2 up top there was then 5 left. I guess if you were lucky enough to get in you are e.g. auto-allocated 4 and if you only take 2 then released back at end of transaction. Whatever innit
  17. Interesting you say a few windows. How soon do people think we may realistically be able to challenge top 6 again out of interest - head ruling heart? Do you think that even can happen under the current top level team? Don't want to start a new topic as that happens too often anyway
  18. The board and Tinnion for their terrible decision and in the case of the former, the timing really annoys me. I still do not get why they appear to be willing to back signings will be needed and will give LM funds in Jan or mainly the summer YET gave NP nothing last summer (I know we bought a couple but compared to funds that came in for Semenyo prior and Scott it was never enough). They clearly set NP up to fail so why not get rid at end of 22/23 and give a new manager the chance to make some signings who felt would work in his team and the way he wanted to play. Nobody would know if we would now be better or worse off but we would have players that fit the system. We now seem to be back to “tombola” formation and players as LM is trying to adapt his style and over-thinking.
  19. TBF he barely had a fit team to pick in that period. I would suggest with the player availability of the last 4 days we would have more than 1 point from 6 to show for it without the manager change
  20. I do not do podcasts; never seen the appeal but seeing links on X etc to those 2 “Second Tier podcast” people I feel comfortable I do not need it in my life; just seems like ill-informed uber-fans thinking they are celebrities. So cannot comment on that about Matt, but, on the article side I read one by him a few months ago that was really interesting so I thought ‘he talks sense’ Unfortunately that was one good article and others since have been arrogant, self-indulgent rubbish and rude about fellow fans who are not happy with the activities of the last few weeks. In short, clearly a puppet of the club who is more concerned about upsetting potential future podcast guests than anything else. Will not be reading his articles again as he doesn’t speak for me.
  21. I expected top half with a couple of January low value purchases or maybe a loan to buy with a decent 3 or so players to complete the squad in the summer, unload one or two out of contract and really challenge top 6 in 24/25. I think the change of manager has delayed that by a minimum of 1 season and more likely 2+ (no doubt Manning may be gone within that sort of period particularly if skirting with mid-table or below for large chunks so maybe* another reset to delay much longer will follow). * - Part of me thinks that maybe should be likely
  22. It is everybody’s team for life though. The issue I am wrestling with is if I do what I have always done (ie renew and accept what is being served up) then I am being a hypocrite. I do not like the board or the pseudo Technical Director. The football is bland. The atmosphere is flat but most of all I do not see anything changing in the results side. 30 years of regular support after my younger years of 10 or so as/when and I have not seen top flight football. I’m 53 now and starting to wonder if I ever will. These days that is no age, but I ain’t lasting another 40 years and we have been in this cycle of falling woefully short since we got promoted bar one year when we blew it really against Hull. Football is a passion and in the blood but to carry on shelling out a lot of money for endless disappointment and mediocrity is actually madness when you sit back and take stock surely? The powers that be know this and that is why they think they can do anything. Nothing will wake them up except something drastic like 14,000 S/T sales this season dropping below 10K next. It will never happen but it would be great if it did as it could lead to real team investment, cheaper pay on the day etc. - who knows. All I know is venting on here then renewing with no belief anything will improve is dafty !!
  23. TBF, it was bitter and -1 degrees - not likely to be a carnival atmosphere as a lot were clearly darn cold. I would still say what was probably 14,000 in actual bums on seats were louder more often than the circa 19,000 on Sunday. Doesn’t help the only have one “song” which is singing “Bristol” repeatedly - ghastly !!
  24. Have to say that was me until a couple of years ago. I suspect it would be different if I didn’t have another time consuming option in the rugby with family that I enjoy. I had a period out a few years before COVID and missed football massively and vowed never again, but, mindset has changed. At moment it will likely be membership for me and see how it goes; always half-season option but I do feel this time I won’t go much at all unless something radical changes.
  25. There has been a lot said in the last few weeks and it is interesting to see if this is genuine frustration that will probably wear off as it invariably does as we are a fickle lot OR this is S/T holders who normally renew adamant enough is enough and voting with their feet. For me, I am at highly unlikely. I have had a S/T for most years of the last 30 or so but I am disillusioned; not just City but football in general. I used to watch a lot of games but really don’t bother much with premier league games or any other. With City itself, I cannot face yet another reset; I have seen so many and it is always the same end result and I spend a lot of money on both football and rugby each season so something has to give and as much to my surprise it will probably be the City S/T. Rugby only really started 3 years ago; always followed Bristol but from the armchair. Now I go with my wife and our friends and I really like it; the beer flows and we have a laugh and totally different vibe. I know not for everyone and I get that, but, take this weekend - Saturday a thrilling derby win whilst getting slowly giggly compared with walking out peed off on Sunday. That said, if the regime at the top was to change in near future it would be a much harder decision for me so it is mainly a general flat, deflated outlook of the “rinse and repeat” unfolding and the brain winning the battle with the heart strings !!
