  1. I remember oh too well Robbo. Got my fingers seriously burned then!!
  2. Someone will be getting a nice back-hander there. Doubtless in used, slightly sandy, US dollars.......
  3. The sewage being discharged from our club at the present, would make the CEO of any water company blush.
  4. I'm pleased for all of those youngsters who have gone on to play Premier League football. I'm much less pleased that they've done so by having to leave Bristol City, to join clubs that have, during the course of the Lansdown tenure, sailed past us to the top flight.
  5. Very few of us want to be where we are right now. We are saddened by the decision to remove Nige, and the manner in which it was done. Some us fear a relegation battle, which none of us were even considering after Saturday's result. At the moment I couldn't care less who is appointed to replace Nige. Whoever the jokers appoint will have had no bearing over previous events, which shouldn't go unrecognised upon their appointment. At present the only thing we can do is get behind the players, whom I'm inclined to feel are as disappointed as us. COME ON YOU REDS!!!
  6. It's looking more likely that we will dragged into a relegation battle than it was yesterday, for sure. Will Mr Lansdown be snatching Mr Warnock from under QPR's gaze???........
  7. All the best Nige. Thanks for everything. I wish you health and happiness in the future.
  8. Is this really true? REALLY?! What a shambles.
  9. I'm presuming that this is an attempt at humour after a dispiriting day? If so, nice one, because it made me chuckle!
  10. Finally pushed over the edge (no injuries sustained) with this today - maybe because it was Cardiff?! I hear "injury hit Bristol City" on the radio as I'm driving home, and feel compelled to shout back " it's like this every bloody week mate! ". It IS ridiculous and needs to be addressed by the club. I don't have any answers it's true, but from the "in and outs" like Williams to the extraordinary situation with McCrorie, the whole thing is a total farce. I'm not blaming any player for being injured of course and before I get ripped to shreds, I only mention the two players above as an illustration. But this has gone on for far too long now to be just part and parcel of the game. Who would want to be in charge of a squad where you've got no chance of picking the same team from one week to another?
  11. Well exactly marmite. Every club suffers injuries of course, including the occasional serious one. But "full strength" is not a utopian phrase - it's used every week in football. The situation at City regularly seems to be "whose fit enough to start, and we'll go from there". Infuriating for staff as much as fans, and surely not the way to run a professional sports team?.
  12. The players we've got out there are doing their best. It's frustrating that the myth of a full strength Bristol City team, selected from a strong squad, is ever elusive.
  13. So true. As a boy, I often found myself confused as to why fans in the old East End would sing "Terry Cooper's going on holiday!" .
  14. Or the Netherlands. They play in orange, so might suit Joey.
  15. I have a very vivid memory of watching this, in the TV room at Fry's Club in Keynsham. Just a few of us kids in there, watching Dallas etc- until...A small room suddenly became very full!! Good times.
  16. "Good heavens Miss Sakamoto, you're beautiful!"
  17. All round, a good win today, I'm happy with that. Onward.
  18. To add to an already well stirred pot...... Might Nige take on the role of Director of Football - or equivalent, with someone like Robins brought in as Manager? No. I don't know either mind.
  19. It's always interesting to see government and/or the elites encouraging citizens to inform on each other. Remember the benefit cheat hotlines?
  20. I've only just picked up on this. Football really has gone quite mad.
