  1. http://www.historicalkits.co.uk/Bristol_City/Bristol_City.htm https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bristol_City_F.C. 125 years? Can't see any significant happenings in 1895 on either of these sites.
  2. They should have consulted mande70
  3. The Stand Up Stand stand up if u 8 the gas
  4. At the risk of blasphemy There Is A Brownhill Far Away Hymn There is a brown hill far away, Outside Our City walls, Where he was Burnley transfererred, Who moved to save us all. Refrain O dearly, dearly, has he loved, And we still love him too, And trust in Nahki’s redeeming goals , And try his works to do. We may not know, we cannot tell, What pains we have to bear; But we believe it was for us He moved and suffered there.
  5. My grandfather was Mayor of Wells so, on behalf of the family, I now welcome the new King of Wells.
  6. I’ve seen a sign saying Jacobs Wells. Any good?
  7. It is interesting that he can immediately identify Barnsley's style but struggles to identify ours. On the other hand, should he be doing the opposition's scouting work for them?
  8. Every summer we get excited over players. Four months later we’ve been disappointed by 75% of them. We need to concentrate on making our lot better, not throwing the towel in and sp£nking more money up the wall. Pretty sure prayoffs are gone this season anyway so what’s the point of a loanee who will be gone in the summer?
  9. It was certainly risky for Ipswich and there are certain parallels. What I also find intriguing is the way views of players on here have totally shifted in two-three weeks. Recently it was: Bentley: fantastic signing Rowe: so much better than expected Williams: give him a two year contract Nagy: world beater Massengo: worth at least 20 million etc All we needed was a 20 goal striker and we’re going up!!! So although Lee is disappointing me with the negative football, some perspective on the reality of our club is necessary. I’m not saying that change is not necessary but that the response needs to be more than just a knee jerk reaction.
  10. Interesting to look at the names on these various teams, create a squad of 22 and then wonder if you would be confident that they would win promotion to the prem if they actually played a full season together.
  11. Heartfelt condolences at this very sad time. May you, Lois and all the family gain some strength from the incredible outpouring of sympathy from all the football world. Our thoughts go with you all x
  12. Unfortunately the way Fulham have organised their rebuilding means the away fans share the end with Fulham. Although the stewards police the exit from the seats, the fans then share the concourse. It is much more like going to rugby where the fans mingle. Let’s hope that it remains peaceful.
  13. No; doubt you’re right. Don’t live in Bristol so have sometimes bought tickets for other teams. Don’t have a problem.
  14. Snap. Grandfathers: one born in Somerset, one in North Wales. I’ve never lived in Wales but with my name (Gareth)it meant I got plenty of stick at school despite being City, Bristol (rugby) through and through. And yes it didn’t make me immune to the piss bottle and 50p throwers last time I went to Ninian Park to watch our glorious 3-1 win; I probably dislike Cardiff as much as any team apart from the Gas. Doesn’t stop me from supporting both England and Wales in football. Rugby though, now that’s different...
