  1. What we had was a man who loved the club. Can’t say fairer than that. Unfortunately we could end up with someone who doesn’t give a sh1t. Let’s hope it is someone who builds the love, builds a dynasty and who will say he wants .... eventually... to have a team of Bristolians.
  2. Interesting that everyone thinks that BCFC will only go for a Yes man whereas it’s clear that the model for Bristol is quite the opposite of this. Why won’t SL countenance a similar model for both? is the difference in the general level of intelligence of your average rugby man compared to football? Klopp, Solskaer, Lampard and a few others bring an exception. Or is it an ego issue? Far fewer egos in rugby. The absolute polar opposite of Pat Lam would be John Terry. Lack of intelligence and excess of ego all wrapped up in one. Avoid like the plague!!!
  3. No former Cortinas fans on ere then. Shame: many a good night seeing them play. Supporting the Jam at Bristol Poly in Redland was one of the first ones.
  4. Ah but it’s the Germans. They might be able to make it work but our bunch of profiteering scumbags will only have their eyes on the Yankee dollar. If fans, players and officials get sick, they won’t be bothered as long as the Sky moolah rolls into their and the marquee players’ pockets. Hope it all implodes so we can start football again with a level playing field, salary caps throughout and a ban on foreign corrupt investment.
  5. For all of you who remember The Cortinas, how far-sighted was this?
  6. What a player! What an inspiration! He was not only a great player but he made others round him great too. I shall never forget his marauding runs and those fearsome tackles. Wonderful positional sense too! RIP Norman! This virus is a complete barsteward and it can just fak off!!!
  7. You might as well play it on FIFA or toss a coin. Momentum will have been completely lost. I think that really should be it for this season. Make all games null and void and start next season when everything is back to some form of reality. in the mean time re-evaluate where professional football has got to. Question the ridiculous salaries and farcical transfer fees and realise that it was all based on shifting sands anyway. I don’t want to see clubs go out of business but if that’s what it takes to make the likes of the Glasers and the Levys of this world to do one then all well and g
  8. Fond fond memories. Get well soon Norman. You made us believe in magic! Let’s hope for some for you! Fight like a Robin!
  9. Fiddling while Rome burns springs to mind. Now back to championship Manager u numpties while the rest of us get on helping our beleaguered communities. We’ll be lucky to have a manager at all come the summer as many clubs will have gone under.
  10. I sit corrected: you can ring Pep now. He may have an idea!!
  11. Seen him a three or four times. A little light weight and disappears from time to time but reasonable composure on the ball. Not outstanding at League Two level at all but he’s young and may benefit from playing in a promotion winning team.
  12. Not really Bristol or football related and it took a number of years but this fine Swedish graffiti was started in 1986. The world famous home of..... The opposite of vandalism really!!
  13. Oh come on! Admit it! It is you, isn’t it, Lee? But surely even if you’re struggling, you know that this is not the place to come for a consensus. Perhaps you should ring your mate Pep....... Oh sh!t! I’d forgotten, he’s struggling too. Look don’t worry! Another four transfer windows and then you’ll be sure to know your first XI.
  14. http://www.historicalkits.co.uk/Bristol_City/Bristol_City.htm https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bristol_City_F.C. 125 years? Can't see any significant happenings in 1895 on either of these sites.
  15. They should have consulted mande70
