  1. excellent from Sam Bell for the goal. Composure we have often lacked.
  2. think Id be bringing McCrorie on for Mehmeti, and switch Sam to the left fairly sharpish if we don't fire in the first 10 minutes..
  3. find the negativity odd. How about he helps Tommy Conway score a hatful of goals in the remainder of the season or Jason Knight to play in his best position. Both then increase in value, potentially substantially and gives us some excitement between now and the season end. Glass half full for me and excited to see how he fits into the team and whether we can start scoring some goals!
  4. Would like to see Weimann pushed forward alongside Tommy tomorrow with TGH playing right midfield and Knight alongside Williams/or James. Think that may help cope without Sykes. Hoping there will be a decent stream...
  5. if all 3 stay fit then keep all 3 while academy players grow into starting 1st team. All 3 continue to be effective when fit, and playing, and can be rotated along side TGH and Jason Knight.
  6. best thing about the Sykes goal was Mehmeti shooting with his left foot rather than cutting back inside. If he continues to grow in confidence that will make him a real handful. Williams finally seems fully fit and that is probably the biggest difference.
  7. because he did a top job, communicated with the fans and knew how to be a CEO - just for starters! wont happen but would need someone who can do the role.
  8. for me the most frustrating part was the incessant kicking from O'Leary - each time giving the ball to Blackburn. Only when we started to play out from the back when 2-0 down did we progress the ball with any guile. Otherwise we relied upon interceptions or Dickie and Vyner stepping out (which they did well). A poor performance with the notable exception of Knight who was a bright light in the gloom.
  9. Gary Collier was superb but difficult to argue against Gerry Gow ....
  10. decent performance - hope wide players watch McGinn's goal for Villa. As with better delivery from promising positions we would have one comfortably. They had one real chance from the breakaway and scored. We fashioned plenty but final ball often poor- would bring on Cornick ahead of Mehmeti who disappointed when in promising positions. Good to see Sukes back on the right.
  11. cant think it possible that Jason Knight could work any harder. Think he was non-stop again last night as was Sykes who did very well in an unaccustomed position. Pring being absent and the required positional changes were big negative which we managed to overcome. Hopefully come Norwich well be more balanced and will take the chances that present.
  12. did someone have a cheap lot of blue material they needed to offload?
  13. and just set up Englands 3rd. Has looked lively.
  14. better once Bell and TGH came on, and perhaps more importantly Knight moved forward which seemed to work much better with Sykes. - we were quite dominant for the last 20 minutes and with better crosses would surely have scored. The first 70mins quite turgid with Cam Pring unable to get forward and Mehmeti offering little. Dickie again excellent as was James
  15. Think Fordy says it best so far!

    Nige

For those not on Twitter Nige messaged this morning with the below: "I would like to thank the incredible consultants, nurses, staff and medical students at Kings College Hospital, in London, where I am staying this week, undergoing numerous tests to help determine my future treatment, in the hope of making a full recovery..." Clearly a tough time for him but hopefully he's getting some good answers from the medical team and will find a path to swift 100% fitness.
  17. thought he came across very well in yesterdays press conference. Lets hope to see his passion reflected on the pitch on Saturday.

    The Return

perhaps but in the interim think he would build on what we have.... even better of course would be if owners saw the strength of support for Nige, realised the error of their ways and asked him back but sadly know that ain't happening.

    The Return

Chris Wilder would be good if Sheff Utd stories happen to be untrue - though perhaps a bit too much like Nige for the owners.
  20. very disappointed by this decision, which has no football rationale. Just as we have a squad playing with energy and commitment and a clear style the carpet has been pulled from underneath Nige's feet. Clearly this has been on the cards for a while. Timed with two winnable fixtures upcoming. I imagine Nige ruffled a few feathers but he moved us forward hugely on the pitch and that should have been enough.
  21. committed, energetic performance where we dominated the 2nd half, could have had a penalty and on another day would have taken a point. Given absences that's a testament to the squad and to Nige...a loss today certainly no disgrace - 6 points from the next two games would see us in a healthy position going in to a much needed break. Will leave OTIB alone until then as the negativity from many is something I really can do without.
