  1. But we are getting a decent windfall, surely a million of that is for reinvestment. Cant wait to sell Scott for £25m in the summer and sign Lansbury as his replacement!
  2. Here’s hoping he goes to Swansea and we get someone decent enough to replace Semenyo! I get £9m needs to balance the books but a chunk of that needs to be reinvested in the playing squad. How has it come to us looking at Luton’s fringe players ffs!
  3. But what difference does it make? A player signs for another club then he is their player. They should be able to do as that want ”Sorry, you can’t play in this semi final as you played in the third round three months ago for a completely different team that were then knocked out in the fourth round anyway”. I really don’t get the point in your argument. With transfer windows nowadays a club couldn’t get to a final and just sign a load of players?
  4. Is it just me who feels this cup tied rule is very prehistoric? Would Semenyo playing in the cup for Bournemouth make any difference to us?
  5. Went to Preston away on coach many years ago. In fact it was the season we were promoted under John Ward. I remember it so well as the lock on the toilet on the coach broke on the way up and I was stuck inside for what felt like half the journey!
  6. Keep watching the first goal from yesterday, mainly to see Scott’s pass to Pring. It looks so simple but so much to admire. Outside of the foot, perfectly weighted, Pring doesn’t have to break stride. To make such a pass look so easy just confirms everything we already know about him.
  7. I think that was more to do with it looking shoulder to shoulder at the time. Watching it again Nahki definitely trips him. Not that we care mind you! Anyone think the complaint to the FA could have played any part in the refs thinking? I guess this is the sort of thing we wanted out of it, putting the pressure on official to give us more favourable decisions.
  8. Think we had the ref on our side for when Wells scored. Seen it a few times now, first thought it was shoulder to shoulder but the more I see it the more convinced I am that Wells trips the defender. Clever play maybe. It that goal is scored against us we’d be fuming the free kick wasn’t given.
  9. This league is crazy. At one point today Luton were third and yet finish the day in ninth!
  10. I thought the turned down Villa’s bid and said they would not be letting him leave. Could be wrong on that though.
  11. I referred to them as Utd and City and I’m not a fan or the media. Just an easier way of writing it. Plus I bet you know the exact two times I was referring to straight away.
  12. Anyone who likes to watch a game of football?
  13. And also of that is the case with Shaw and Maguire, which clearly it is, why are Utd refusing to let Maguire leave?
  14. Big Manchester derby! Just an observation… Utd have over £160m worth of centre backs on the bench and have a left back at centre back. I’m sure it makes sense to someone…
  15. Let’s be honest, no one thinks Scott is worth £25m because he plays for Bristol City. No one would question the price based on pure ability and potential. ”came through the ranks at Bristol City, no way is he worth £25” Balls to the lot of them! We hold the cards. He is worth what we say he is. As others have pointed out, there are young players who have gone for big money from championship clubs to the premier league and I don’t recall many being questioned over the price. Scott outshines all of them. £25m, 25% sell on clause, shake hands and be done with it.
  16. Find out more about what is happening at the club via the manager’s agent than we do from the club itself. Maybe there would have been no need for this if our own board were not so invisible!
  17. Doing arguably a bette job at Shrewsbury than he done here if you were to compare what he had to work with. Just not sure it would work him coming back here.
  18. Coburn possibly getting recalled by Carrick at Boro next month. That would be nice
  19. Given what was at stake, it was the greatest match of all time
  20. It is a tough one as others have said. When it comes to major tournaments we look good against teams we should brush aside. When we face decent opponents we fall short, albeit with a good performance against the French this time around. It is the crap that happens between these tournaments that’s the issue for me. Many will say the nations league means nothing. Just competitive friendlies. But that doesn’t hide the fact in the build up to the World Cup we were a shambles. 3 draws and 3 defeats in a campaign ending in “relegation”. This included a 4-0 home defeat to Hungary! Southgate has the most talented crop of players in recent years so he needs to use them or let someone else do it.
  21. Bring on the French! Come on Gareth, let them play with freedom and creativity and without fear.
  22. Southgate’s comments suggests Foden has little chance of playing at the top of a midfield three, which is concerning given Mount seems to be the only one he will play in that role.
