  1. Will he mention his time here? Could be worth a listen, amazing to think we binned him off and he's now top scorer.
  2. You say "well done the board (in jest)", but funny thing is we don't have a board! It's just two men who know almost nothing about running a succesful club and an owner who doesn't seem to care anymore, even though his name's on the bloody biggest stand! Personally I'd like to see a board made up with OTIB members, for me I'd go for Exiled Ajax,DaveF and Silvio Dante join the board, with Mr Pop running the finance side! Come on guys, make it happen!
  3. I know you're a genuine City fan, but for me what you've said is strange, as the pull to watch your club is usually stronger than not enjoying the odd game here or there and blaming it on the gaffer's style of play. It is crap sometimes, perhaps like today, I didn't go. But the Blackburn and Leicester games were fantastic, enjoyed them both. I bet you ten grand you'll be back to watch games next season!
  4. I'm not so sure, I think I can already hear SL rubbing his wrinkled hands together and muttering about his nest egg ....
  5. This is bloody brilliant, City are on fire and Blackburn are absolutely crap!
  6. Should be a decent game, you'd have to imagine Sammy will definitely score, and I reckon a 1-1 draw looks about right
  7. Some absolutely fantastic and wild answers here, and some that made me crack up laughing, you bunch of legends!
  8. Out of all our former players still in the game, who would you have back? Scott, Semenyo, Kelly, Webster, or even going back to Reid, Bryan, Flint, Pack, Bentley, if you could tempt one back who would it be? I know Scott is the obvious, but I would love to see Bobby return to his roots and bang in a load of goals for us again. Any other options, or choices? And now if you were gonna go crazy for a moment, which player from the past? Now that's a tough question!!
  9. Never heard of that club before, but my god, now I really want them to suffer back to back relegations and end up back where they started. I might check that in a few years to see if that happens, there's probably a good chance it will!
  10. But the opposing player obviously used a Bruce Lee style old-school karate technique and touched him with a feint finger of death that can almost render a man unconscious or paralysed with the slightest, barely visible moment of contact. Poor sod Ben White is lucky to be alive. Quite a few football players have this very dangerous talent, beware!
  11. Wow I would kill to have that model in place here, if you were a member you could claim to be one of the many owners of the club! Let's do it, let's buy City! Thanks for all responses, makes for fascinating reading!
  12. This question has always interested me, especially with the suggestions on here that SL should sell up, but what happens if he decides he doesn't want to be the owner, this isn't for him, and there's no one else waiting to buy the club? Is it too simple to suggest that would be the end of the club, or not just City, but any other football club in that circumstance? Does the FA have any plan in place to prevent that sort of thing? I find it amazing to think that there are that many wealthy groups/ syndicates / individuals willing to pump so much money into owning football clubs, without having the guarantee of making significant returns on their huge outlay. They all open themselves up to the possibility of being abused or villified, losing tonnes of cash, and must all be a little bit bonkers! Football club owners, I salute you!
  13. Unfortunately SL seems quite happy to let the club meander along the river of the Championship, growing each year in small ways, providing expensive and sometimes decent football in a nice, modern, quiet stadium, that offers the occasional brilliant game amongst a sea of sub-standard football, and one day his ownership might take us to the Premier League, at this rate in about 15 years, in which case he probably won't be around to see it anyway and Ryan Reynold's Wrexham would have won the Premier League at least three times by then, so what's the bloody point? I wish they would speed the whole thing up, chuck a little bit of Luton magic at it. Oh, if only we had Tony Bloom, or the Brentford owner, although I don't actually know who that is! I like SL, just wish he woke up one day and realised this club would be freaking huge in the top tier.
  14. Is it possible we could have Hogg as the manager and LM his assistant? Hogg delivers a much better interview!
  15. Yep, that also sounds good to me! I like nothing better than seeing City youngsters breaking into the first team, but if we could spruce that up with some Premier League trained talent, I'm all for it!
  16. Was thinking about this yesterday and there's something nice about getting a top ten finish, so let's go for it, get as many points as possible, see if we can hit at least 60.
  17. Trying to think of a benefit of having Manning as the gaffer, and an obvious one could be using his former Hammers connections to bring in some young ones for a season loan? Maybe the next Declan Rice, or going back a decade or two - the next Joe Cole? It would be a big boast for the squad for next season. I'm still waiting for us to bring in our next Tammy and a West Ham player would go down a treat.
  18. And why would it even matter if CNG is a Bristol Sport employee, so what? I'd work for Bristol Sport if they paid me enough to get out of bed each morning!
  19. Good question, but I'd keep them both, I love both of them! But if James does want to leave, I'll tip my hat and respect his decision, he's been a quality player for us. AH TO HELL WITH THAT, PLEASE STAY, MATTY!
  20. Unbelievable saves today, especially the two (3?) from Vardy. His reflexes and agility are truly sensational. Hope he stays here for a while yet, but also curious, is he Premier League bound or is this his natural level? What would his value be? I've no idea his contract length but would definitely give him another 3 years. We do still need a better back up keeper though.
  21. fwiw, I still believe that Pearson was released mainly due to his health situation, but the club agreed to keep this out of the media due to respecting his privacy wishes. I've heard that from quite a few people and it stacks up with the fact NP isn't straight back into management, and probably won't be for a while longer.
  22. Can't wait for this game, after a break the next match always feels like it's gonna be something special. I have the strange feeling it's going to be a 2-2 draw. Both sets of fans bloody love Pearson but he was sacked by both clubs. Football really is a funny one. I guess almost all managers have to be sacked at some stage, just part of their journey and life.
  23. how do you know that's a slogan at the HPC? It's just a stupid phrase on a red screen, I can't imagine for one second that is used to try to motivate players! (because obviously it's nonsense), unless they were about to play a game of Family Fortunes and good old Les Dennis was waiting somewhere off of camera. Does anyone think we're trying to find ludicrous reasons to bash the Lansdowns? Because I do!
  24. Good luck with getting your hands on the tickets, although your trip might be best served if you give the game a swerve! Saying that, I bought my ticket this week, and am still hoping to see a thrilling game, although I'm ready to be disappointed.
