  1. Due to issues between the Supporters Club and the football club, it's being done online at the moment. Usually raises around £800 per match I think - hopefully they'll get back to tickets being sold in person, at the ground. On a similar subject, do you still have programme sellers wandering around outside the ground, or are they sold from kiosks?
  2. Apologies, feeling a bit defensive at the moment - which is more than can be said for my team! ?
  3. Sorry that your friend and his children had to put up with hearing unpleasant stuff. I've had that myself, when you find yourself standing by somebody with an IQ of single digits, who uses foul language all the time. One bloke was putting so many four lettered words into each sentence, that nothing he said make sense. There was definitely a turning of the tide re. feelings against Barton at the end of the game - all water of a duck's back to him I guess.
  4. I've got a video on my phone of him coming off the pitch - I'm not a bullshi**er. Happy to post it, if somebody can give me instructions. He didn't celebrate his goal, which was noted and appreciated. I've posted his Tweet below - do you think he was thanking people for staying behind and booing him? Chris Lines @Linesy8 Wow....what a day thank you to everyone who stayed behind after the final whistle that really meant a lot to me and thank you to everyone at BRFC for making sure my family had a fantastic day to remember
  5. I understand it is in the ground, but not supposed to be used!
  6. Lines got a good reception, and was also applauded off the pitch at the end.
  7. Please try and talk things through with somebody, be that via the Samaritans, MIND, or a trusted friend. I made the mistake of keeping my negative feelings within my own head, where they multiply and magnify. We can't change the world, however, we can make small changes within our own lives, which is a start. Please reach out to somebody, just expressing your thoughts out loud, and sharing, can offer some relief. Take care.
  8. He's a wise man - ignorance is bliss at the moment!
  9. Don't believe everything you read on Facebook.
  10. As I said in my earlier post, the irony of it did not pass me by, however, on this occasion he did the right thing, the same as most managers do in that situation.
  11. The irony of the situation did not pass me by! ?
  12. Apologies, somebody had written exactly the same thing on the forum, so I wrongly assumed that was where you'd got it from. I was referring to that poster with regard to posting negative things, not yourself (to be fair, I wouldn't expect you to post anything positive).
  13. It was posted by one person, who only ever has negative things to say - plenty of other posts pointing out that what he said was incorrect - wonder why BCFC11 didn't quote one of those? He referred to said person as "lineswoman", then hastily corrected himself, as one must do these days.
  14. He was making sure that they didn't confront the referee, physically pulled one player away - same as a lot of managers usually do when the players have been riled by some of the ref's decisions. If you're going to criticise, at least keep it factual.
  15. I think we did sack him too soon, you could see that there were improvements on the pitch, and I think that he would have kept us up. It seems that the players who were signed/disposed of were not all of his choosing, although he carried the can. I'd like to see him do well, even if he is just up the M4.
  16. Shameful, made worse because other Rovers supporters were telling those who started the booing to shut up - which only added to the noise. I didn't really care about the result that evening. I don't think there's any moral ground to be gained by either club with regards to this sort of thing, unfortunately we both have history. Rovers were also guilty of the Aberfan chant, as I'm sure other clubs were at the time.
  17. Unfortunately I have heard similar sung by fans elsewhere, sewer-rats tend to pop up everywhere. Bloke moved to further his career and earn a better wage for his family - they should just get over it.
  18. Of course not, Danny Simpson was playing at Ashton Gate.
  19. No need to go over the top with the insults!
  20. The love child of an illicit Norwich and Yeovil coupling, with a bit of spider's web thrown into the mix.
  21. First thing I noticed. Wonder if he does those hair transplants ads, like Darren Gough?
  22. Thanks for sharing your knowledge @Fordy62 - very interesting to get a take on this from those of you who are involved in the legal system. With regards to the awful statement, which I understand has now been amended on the Rovers website, the club were originally quoting from the Evening Standard report with regards to what the Crown Prosecutor had said in Court. The Evening Standard have also amended their online copy now. I saw online that some legal eagle with a blue tick had picked up the Standard reporter's error - which, I understand, should have read "victimless prosecution". I would liked to have thought that the club's legal adviser would have queried the accuracy of this before the notorious statement was signed off - maybe the tea lady signed it off, it's Rovers after all. Apart from that, there was no need to include it in the club statement, and I think that they were trying to mislead those who didn't have knowledge of legal terminology.
  23. Thank you. You've obviously cottoned onto the fact that I don't always digest information first time around. ??
