  1. It's a solid stand, and was still in situ last time I went there. Wrong ground.
  2. The Family Stand at Twerton Park was added to the ground by Rovers.
  3. Ah, didn't realise that there was a "one season" rule. Not sure what the issue is here. The majority of teams in League One have 3 or 4 players in on loan, a few teams have 5 loanees, Ipswich only have 1. Rovers have 3 on loan, so are no different to their peers.
  4. Didn't you have a lad called Tammy on loan, who's goals saved you from relegation?
  5. The first time I heard they say "moment" instead of "minute" was the match involving Liverpool, following the death of the Queen. There could then be no criticism if they did not maintain silence for the whole minute. Wouldn't have thought that "moment" would need to be used at AG. Seems quite a few teams did the applause by mistake, it's still done as a mark of respect and appreciation for those who did not return, that's the important thing.
  6. I wouldn't look forward to playing you, due to how silly things had got off the pitch the last few times we played. Likely to be even worse next time, as the police tactics seem to be to stand back and film, then use this evidence to make arrests at a later date. A shame, as the atmosphere inside the ground is usually cracking, but had enough of the shenanigins outside.
  7. Come out of Trowbridge via Farleigh Hungerford, Hinton Charterhouse, Midford, down Pennyquick hill to the Globe roundabout. Cut up through Keynsham, then via Whitchurch to Hartcliffe Way. Turn left just before the Three Lions, once you get to the bottom of the hill, start looking for a parking space.
  8. Saw the thread title and thought that Mr Barton had been driving his brother's car again.
  9. That's great news - get ready to deck the halls! ?
  10. Surely if Mrs Hill had given a statement, this would have entered as evidence at one of the earlier hearings? Everything around the case is speculation, as the only people who know what took place are those who were actually there when it happened.
  11. I've seen this mentioned many times, although I've never seen any evidence to back it up. This happened at the Barton's London residence, so, if the Hills were there, presumably they were staying with the Bartons for the weekend - where were they when the police turned up?. I find it strange that if Mrs Hill felt so strongly, they did not come forward as witnesses for the prosecution. Also, Hill remained at Rovers for two months after the incident, surely you'd walk out straight away if you were a witness to what happened, and felt very strongly about it?
  12. It was actually my choice to spend it on my own, I did have invites from family and friends - to be honest, I actually enjoyed it! I must be old and miserable - bah humbug! ?
  13. I haven't got any links, however, I did experience being on my own last Christmas. My way of dealing with it was to pretend that it was just an ordinary day. I slobbed around in my PJ's, ate normal food (cheese and onion roll for lunch!), watched TV programmes on streaming sites so that I didn't see any of "Christmas Specials", didn't open any of the presents my family had given me. I found it was an enormous relief not to have the pressure of being "ho ho ho" all day, and to do exactly as I pleased - I felt really relaxed and refreshed on Boxing Day, and enjoyed opening my presents then. I will confess that my one nod to it being Christmas Day was to eat a lot of chocolate. ?
  14. You still need coins to access some public toilets - you may well encounter these on a journey from Bristol to Sunderland. Also £1 coins to release supermarket trolleys - okay, maybe you wouldn't be doing your weekly shop enroute, but cash isn't quite as obsolete as some people think. It sounds a bit barmy to me.
  15. I'm not into the attendance obsession, although I have seen posts which I guess must be the result of some people letting their imaginations run away with them! I think most people can identify the ones which are talking crap.
  16. Sorry to read this, and I hope the person is OK. the Rovers game was stopped on Wednesday evening when our GK signalled that there was a person in the Sheffield Wednesday end who needed medical attention. It could be a nightmare trying to get somebody out on a stretcher if there was an incident on the pitch which triggered the crowd. (Yeah, I know, not very likely when Rovers are playing - but you get the drift!)
  17. That's a pretty big workplace you're at to be mixing with 7,500 Rovers fans, plus the remainder of the workforce who support other teams. The Christmas parties must be phenomenal. ?.
  18. You obviously come into contact with a lot more Rovers supporters than I do!
  19. When was the last time we played at Hillsboough, not counting last night! That poster must be an OAP.
  20. Crazy isn't it! Home and away attendences are easily available to check these days. ?
  21. He's one bloke, obviously not wired right if he's in denial about figures which have been posted by the ticket office on several social media sites. Haven't seen or heard any other Rovers supporters stating this - him being a season ticket holder doesn't make him a typical example of Rovers fans. Bit like the bloke who supported your lot, and wrote in his book about City fans targetting police dogs, to injure them - I don't imagine that the majority of you shared his views.
  22. You work with a very strange bloke, number of tickets sold has been on social media, around 700 at the beginning of the week I think. He obviously doesn't follow Rovers very closely, or he'd be clued up.
  23. Jeez, that is a tough weekend, that poor 11 year old girl, so young to lose a parent. It sounds as though you've helped a few people to keep going, not always easy to do - you're obviously a good person. For some reason, the black cloud has descended around me - just can't shake it off.
  24. I haven't read his book, so don't know exactly what happened when he was 14. Do you consider what he says in the aricle to be "vile" - that was my question to the OP? Actually, your description sounds like quite a few 14 year olds I've come across in my time. ?
