  1. Sadly, I didn't manage to hunt down the crepes when I went there for a concert. Have to say that it's an impressive set up you have there.
  2. They were somewhat disappointed that there was no jerk chicken or freshly cooked crepes available. However, the facilities were of a very high standard, and the young uns enjoyed watching the ladies play - which was the whole point of the exercise, so - mission accomplished. ?
  3. I know that a lot of people went to Ashton Gate to watch Liverpool Ladies football team, my niece and her family had free tickets - I'm sure that many others did too. Good initiative to get girls interested in the game.
  4. Absolutely gorgeous - so much love in that photo! We adopted our little rescue dog when she was 8, her previous owner had passed away, she's almost 15 now - the Diva of the house.
  5. Oh no, that must be heartbreaking - dogs are such an integral part of the family, and give unconditional love. Just remember that you gave him/her a wonderful life, thinking of you. x
  6. You need to re-read my post before trying to be clever - I referred to the clubs who finished 1st, 2nd, 3rd, plus the play-off winners in League Two. I don't think that there will be a great deal to separate their prospects when they start life back in League One. For some reason you are referencing the Premiership champions and a team who avoided relegation on the final day - there is no similarity to what I was talking about.
  7. Yes - all the promoted clubs had the same starting point when the 1990/91 season started.
  8. No need the re-phrase what I said, the discussion was about the teams which have been promoted - I would say that there are a few clubs in League One which none of the new boys are equal to. I hear the sound of straws being clutched.
  9. Doesn't matter if you finish 1st, 3rd or go up via the play-offs - all those teams will start off as equals in League One next season.
  10. To be fair, I don't think they get paid enough to suffer swabbing all those portaloos at Rovers.
  11. Agreed - I shouldn't have got drawn in to discussing it.
  12. I was just pointing out that everybody is quick to assume that they know everything about a situation, when they weren't there. With regards to her lifestyle being at risk, I doubt that, I think JB has been shrewd with the money he's earned, and a good lawyer would probably get her 60%. They've been together for a long time, and I would imagine that it might well be a tempestuous relationship at times, especially with alcohol in the mix. I guess she does what she thinks is best for herself and the family.
  13. So sorry to hear that your family has been through this, I cannot even begin to imagine how awful this must be, and where people find the strength to carry on. Best wishes.
  14. Yes, her friends set up a Just Giving page for the RSPCA, as she loved animals, so it is out there in the public domain. I've not mentioned it before, as he obviously doesn't want publicity about it, and, although it is much more widely known now, I think that the press are respecting his wishes.
  15. Yes, I do appreciate that - it's a totally different world, you only have to look at the difference in players' wages in League One and Championship to see what a step up that is. To be honest, I prefer the televised Championship games to the Premiership ones - lacking the individuals with world class skills, but more exciting to watch in my opinion.
  16. It's a difficult one, he had been back at work in a backround capacity for a few weeks, and maybe he felt that he should be more involved for the final push. I know that when I lost my Dad, I thought that getting back into the work environment quickly was the best thing to do, then all the emotions came to the surface about 6 weeks later, and floored me.
  17. Yes, and in the most tragic of circumstances too. Still, the Swindon fan thinks it's quite acceptable to label him as a "thug".
  18. I'm not aware that he expects to get away with it, he apologised at the first opportunity because it was the right thing to do. You've linked him with the word "thug" - which I find pretty despicable.
  19. We've never been demoted for irregular payments either.
  20. Maybe your emotions would still be a bit off kilter if you'd recently lost a child. The first thing he did when interviewed was to apologise to all concerned.
  21. My ex sister-in-law (who liked the odd glass of wine) hit herself in the face twice, and then phone the police to say that her teenage son had attacked her. The lad had apparently annoyed her about something, so that was her "revenge". I've also worked with a female who sometimes exchanged blows with her partner - she was quite open about it. On occassion she would be upstairs on her mobile, phoning the police, and he would be doing the same thing downstairs, both reporting each other for violence - they did get eventually get a stern talking to from the police. She sometimes came to work with bruises, and if she'd chosen to tell us that they were inflicted by her partner, (and omit her part in the altercation), of course we would have believed her without question. The old saying "nobody knows what goes on behind closed doors" exists for a reason.
  22. Anderson was certainly a one-off, I'd be surprised if any League Two club got a loan of that quality again. Alfie Kilgour is returning to fitness now, so will fill one of the centre back berths - he's previously played well in League One. Evans is a key player - the most important one to re-sign in my opinion. Luke Thomas (Blondie) came on loan as he had meantal health issues, and wanted to be closer to his family - for his sake, I hope that the mental health issues are resolved, if they haven't, he might return. JB made early signings last summer, so hopefully he'll do the same again, he seems to have a very well organised recruitment team supporting him - it will be interesting to see who he signs this time around.
  23. My understanding is that the Court case is next month. I am guessing that the CP have irefutable evidence to have brought this to court, and I'll be expecting the justice system to act accordingly.
  24. First season up, I'd realistically be ok with a mid-table finish - bottom 10 is only 2 places below this, and if the tables are as close as they've been this year, there could just be a point between those positions. You finished in the bottom 8, were 5 points adrift of the team above, and that's after how many years in the Championship? .
  25. How on earth do you come to that conclusion - have all the players gone elsewhere?
