  1. Only in as much as they are not Bayern Munich. There is little love for them in Germany, as they are one of the few clubs to which the 50 +1 rule does not apply. They are 100% owned by the Bayer pharmaceuticals giant, so are hardly an impoverished underdog.
  2. As the question didn't specify "UK club", I give you my German club, Union Berlin! No owner other than the 60k plus members all paying our monthly sub. Playing top flight Bundesliga for the last 5 years, last 3 in Europe too (Champions League this season). It can be done without billionaire owners.
  3. The results of the awards were published in full that year, as they always are: https://www.bristolcitysupporters.org/end-of-season-awards/
  4. Yer tiz again: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/1_Awards2324
  5. I very much doubt it. 8th letter of the alphabet x2, and all that.
  6. The SC&T's 'Fans for the Future' tickets have unexpectedly become available for tomorrow. It's three adults and five U19s in the Lansdown Upper. If you want to take a group of kids to the game, just get in touch and the tickets are yours. First come, first served. BTW, the Huddersfield game on 13 April is also available. Details and contact e-mail address here: https://www.bristolcitysupporters.org/kids-be-our-guests-take-5/
  7. Yep, that game was at Bootham Crescent, squeezed in between red brick terraced housing. The new ground is a small identikit job on the Monks Cross retail park.
  8. No idea. But that figure sounds plausible.
  9. At present, there has to be a flip-down seat. In future, who knows. That may change. Personally, I think it should, because it is a safety hazard to have wobbly seats accessible to fans in areas being operated as standing, since fans then can - and will - stand on them and could thus fall off and get injured. In conventional standing areas (terraces) structures on which fans can stand are banned. So, logic says that this rule may follow in due course for 'safe standing' areas too, with a requirement for the seats to be secured upright when the area is being used for standing. As, indeed, is already the way things are done all over Europe and, for instance, at Celtic.
  10. A valid point. Reaching the younger demographic is a challenge that we've faced with other surveys.
  11. As I said, it's very early days, so my discussion was very non-specific, In any case, the whole point of consultation is to find out the views of as many fans as possible, not just of those with a particular interest in this topic. 18 months is ample time to do that and to put in place the necessary arrangements should it transpire that a large percentage of our fellow fans would support changes being made on this front.
  12. Point taken. Yes, it was probably an opportunity missed. He did though respond to my mail, which wasn't a given.
  13. In JL's defence, I should say that I 'reached out' to him following his comments at the Q&A session about being open to exploring new ideas surrounding standing/atmosphere, and he put me in touch with Tom Rawcliffe, with whom I then had a meeting. It's all very early days, but the wheels are in motion for a possible consultation exercise, almost certainly involving the SC&T, which may or may not lead to some changes in time for the 2025/26 season. It has to be that far away so that, IF the consultation shows a desire for change, this can be organised and communicated well in advance of an annual round of season ticket renewals. So, the topic hasn't been ignored.
  14. I was abroad at the time, so missed the game. That font of all knowledge (ahem!) Wikipedia claims that the away following was approximately 10k. The attendance is quoted as having been 36,892, so 10k sounds more realistic than 50% of the crowd. The reality is that there is probably no accurate record, as we paid cash at the turnstiles in those days. Today will have undoubtedly been the highest in the fully ticketed / all-seater era.
  15. Is the Coventry figure documented or just folklore? I did wonder if that game might be the record.
  16. Sorry if this has already been established and I missed it, but was today the biggest away following in the club's history for any game other than a final?
  17. Yes, Germany is a big country. See mileages between host cities here: https://www.euro2024ingermany.com/travel/car-and-coach Even by train, John, it takes some getting about!!
  18. In Munich? https://www.euro2024ingermany.com/groups/group-c
  19. Here you go: http://www.bristolcitysupporters.org/category/minutes/ And those from 2007-2018: https://www.bristolcitysupporters.org/meet/
  20. UEFA have already said that there will be an official resale platform, so there should be no issues with 'offloading' spares (at face value). Similarly, tickets that you may want may also become available through that platform. Whether it will offer the ability to link buyers and sellers remains to be seen.
  21. Presumably, as Germany are A1, the top seeds in each of the other groups will be B1, C1 and so on. If you believe that England (or whichever nation you support) will be a top seed, you could thus apply only for the group games featuring those teams and not, for instance, for games like A2 vs A3 or E3 vs E4.
  22. Yes, as on other days with 3 games. My guess: 3pm, 6pm and 9pm. My point was that the final group-stage games in each group will be played simultaneously (to avoid any match-fixing). So, there will be no need for a fourth kick-off time.
  23. Those final group-stage games will surely be played simultaneously on the respective days. So, I'd suggest that there will be no need for 4 KO times. It may therefore end up as 3pm, 6pm and 9pm (it's already confirmed that the opening game will be a 9pm kick-off / 8pm UK time).
  24. Yep, all just a blind ballot at the moment. But you have to be in it to win it: https://www.euro2024ingermany.com/tickets
