  1. If fans in the end block of the Dolman were to stand persistently, there is no doubt that the SAG/SGSA would put pressure on the club to address that. There are then only two possible solutions: (1) install rail seats or barriers to remove the risk of progressive crowd collapse, or (2) use draconian stewarding methods / stadium bans to force fans to sit.
  2. That atmosphere is largely down to the fans (ultras) themselves. But Phil Alexander (and Steve Parish) always encouraged it, had an open dialogue with the group and helped it to flourish. He won't personally be able to create an impoved atmosphere at AG (which we badly need), but he has shown a willingness in the past to work with those who can.
  3. I've met Phil Alexander a few times over the years when campaigning for safe standing and always found him approachable and friendly. It looks like a good appointment to me, not least as it has been made in a timely fashion, leaving a good hand-over period between Richard Gould and him.
  4. Yep, really good write-up, thanks. Picking hairs, one slight correction re Peter Coates' involvement with Signal Radio (as it was called at launch). Having joined the pre-launch team there in summer 1983 (moving from Radio West), I would say that's wrong to call Peter the 'founder'. He may well have been one of the many shareholders and even a non-exec director, but he was not chairman in the first few years. He only took up that role some time later. So, I don't think it can be said that he 'founded' the station. He's certainly done a lot of good for Stoke as a place, though, over the years.
  5. Due again to Covid, the second group that were due to use these tickets tonight have sadly also had to cancel. So, all 8 tickets are now available if at this short notice anyone has a group of kids they'd like to bring along.
  6. Due a Covid-related cancellation, there are now four last-minute tickets available on the SC&T's 'Fans of the Future; scheme for Tuesday: https://www.bristolcitysupporters.org/kids-be-our-guests-take-4/ It's one adult ticket, and 3 under 19s (though you could pay to upgrade one of those to make it 2 adults and 2 kids). If interested, please e-mail FansOfTheFuture@bristolcitysupporters.org
  7. Thanks - So, there are now two sets of 1 x adult, 2 x kids tickets up for grabs. We can organise Big Al & Toby's tickets in the same way as the Fans of the Future tickets. Please e-mail the address shown on the page below if interested: https://www.bristolcitysupporters.org/kids-be-our-guests-take-4/
  8. Over 83% of the tickets available for this season have now been allocated, with only two games (Blackburn and Wigan) where all 8 tickets remain available. For this Sunday against Cardiff there is still one adult and two kids tickets up for grabs. So, if you'd like to take two deserving youngsters to the game for free, especially if they've not been before or are rarely able to go, click below for details and let us know: https://www.bristolcitysupporters.org/kids-be-our-guests-take-4/
  9. Survey deadline extended by a day, to midnight tonight. If you've not yet done it, now's your final chance: https://www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/SCandT_Survey_2022
  10. The SC&T is again running the 'Fans of the Future' free tickets scheme this season. So, if you have a group of kids you'd like to bring along to their first (or first-ish) game at the Gate, just apply now. Full details here. Apologies for the late notification of this. Work got in the way! PS: If you've not yet completed it, the SC&T survey is also still open: click here to take part
  11. The SC&T would like to know your views on a variety of issues, so that when we're talking to the club about these things we can correctly reflect fans' views. So, please spare 10 minutes to complete this survey: SC&T 2022 Supporters Survey Thanks! PS: Please note that the link will work only once on any given device. So, if other family members want to complete the survey, they will need to do so on another device (PC, tablet or mobile).
  12. Actually, these discounted tickets are being subsidised by central government. As a way to help citizens during tough times.
  13. I am currently the proud holder of such a ticket. The 9 EUR payment covers all travel on all local public transport in the country (buses, trams, underground, metro, mainline regional trains, even some ferries) for a month. The only exclusions are express intercity trains. It's a move by the government to ease the cost of living burden and to encourage motorists to leave their cars at home. It will be available again in July and in August.
  14. And I'd agree that Crouch has integrity. As Ajax says, I believe this will happen. It will just take time. But as it has cross-party support, even a change of government shouldn't derail it. We'll get there in the end.
  15. Fortunately most young kids going to their first game don't care about the result or the quality of the football!
  16. The SC&T's free tickets (2x adult, 6x kids) are available for the final home game of the season. Full details here: https://www.bristolcitysupporters.org/kids-be-our-guest-take-3/
  17. Cash vs Hull (from a punt - East End to Open End).
  18. Voting closes at midnight on Monday, 4th April. https://www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/BCFCPOY2022
  19. Nearly 2,000 votes so far. Keep them coming! https://www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/BCFCPOY2022

  22. Used to do some work in a building across the road from Strangeways. It's a grim, red-brick, Victorian edifice. Not a nice place.
  23. All e-mails to info@ come to me and are automatically forwarded to @Blagdon Mike... then forwarded to relevant board members, as necessary. We'll send the Zoom link tomorrow to all who have asked to 'attend'. Thanks for your interest - new views and opinions are always welcome.
