  1. Not in the last 3 games! Looks like the quality Vyner left with Nige and Holden era Vyner is back to haunt us.
  2. We won't because we can't, everyone could see it wasn't possible within this squad, it was obvious that Nige was trying to implement the front foot football that the owners want but was limited by the squad, he clearly settled on a kind of front foot football as much as possible in a style that suited the squad in a balancing act. The owners didn't think that was enough and we could do more so have brought in someone to just play front foot football and when it doesn't work hasn't got a clue what to do.
  3. Expectations have risen because of communication coming from the top, it's only right that we now expect this team to be top 6 and challenging and pissed off if they aren't.
  4. For those saying that some players take time to develop - hope you're not suggesting we should have kept him as a bit part player until the last couple of seasons. He's 29 now (which makes me feel old), he needed his time at Fleetwood and Ipswich to give him the chance of being the player he is now and was never going to do it here.
  5. I don't think I have heard him say "sell" I think he has always said "invest", beside the point the language seems to have changed to "work alongside". I think he is obsessed with the Barcelona model, no inside knowledge but I think he is trying to appeal to someone's ego. By invest I think he means renting everything to someone in something like a club president model where they get to run it for 3 years for say £40m. Someone who is a billionaire or even half of that isn't going to care about £40m - it isn't all about money at that level of wealth it's usually about prestige and building a brand around yourself for a legacy. That way SL cover's the losses, the investor gets the profile and god like status if we get promoted, SL keeps the underlying assets and mitigates his losses. All guesswork though.
  6. Both fit in the sentence equally IMHO. Logically I wouldn't be surprised if he has been talking about it behind closed doors as an overreaction as a defence mechanism for his own mental health if nothing else, dismissing it as a lunatic fringe (certainly looks that way from the fans forum last night). He just took that language into this fans forum at the end of a statement.
  7. Had another watch this morning and he certainly says overreaction. It's at 1h1m and 43 seconds for about 10 seconds. People can make there own minds up. I would normally give him the benefit of doubt but I'm struggling to give him the benefit of doubt with how much disdain Steve had for fans opinions.
  8. Right at the end it looked like he leaned over to Manning and said something, the microphone didn't quite pick it up but it sounded/looked like "that was easy" .
  9. He lives abroad and watches the games on robinsTV.
  10. I've just gone back to listen to it again. In the context of what the could change and looking back in hindsight "I think you're not going to be able to change that overreaction". Therefore he just believes it was an overreaction.
  11. Did I hear that right that JL believes that the response to NP sacking was just an overreaction?
  12. They've turned up on Monday night to a pub they should be pretty clued in.
  13. There was a point where I thought it was more entertaining than the football.
  14. I get your point and in general I agree but this time I disagree, for me there needs to be some continuity for fans - otherwise everything just feels a bit transient, we also need the current players to understand the nuances of the club history, someone that can explain the Ashton gate 8, Tinnions goal at anfield, Murray running along the line at ninnian park Murray doesn't hold a position of power (important but not power). Now Tinnion on the other hand I think is in danger of being promoted to the point of incompetence, done a great job with the academy but now as technical director seems to be struggling a bit.

    New song

Agreed - if all the fans join in so won't be very good then .

    New song

Bit of a derge as we mumble our way through it but better than silence.
  17. If he thinks that's true then find a way of saying it or implying it maybe?
  18. But then it's just anything anyone could tell us about any football club. I'm not interested in Manning and his philosophy until it impacts on Bristol city. Nige managed to at least imply things that were happening and what he had to change. What is Manning trying to change? Where does he see the problems at the moment with Bristol city?
  19. Something insightful rather than just platitudes, something about what's actually happening within the club.
  20. And look how it's going under his ownership and not listening!
  21. There's a freedom of speech but there isn't forced listening - he doesn't have to listen to anyone.
