You don’t want to lose to City - Foster fired
bcfcshorey replied to Major Isewater's topic in Football Chat
Am I right in thinking our last trip to Home Park was Gary Johnson's last game before he got sacked? -
I'd think that it's still worth clearing the site whilst the legal case proceeds. If SL decides to give up on the project and sell the land, the land would probably be worth more as a clean slate ready for other developments. And if the case goes our way, we're not too far off schedule.

City are live on national television this Tuesday - its cliché time!

I think he said if City go to the Premier League, he'd go to watch all the games and wouldn't want to work at them. -
I'm pretty sure it was briefly used when we had a second disallowed, it was clearly offside but I remember seeing the ref signalling that there was a quick VAR check.

Sunderland rolling out the red carpet for the Toon Army

To play Devil's Advocate, I'm guessing their thinking was that it's more likely to get trashed by United fans if it's all red & white with Sunderland stuff. By putting some united stuff up, they might not trash it. -

I used to live above the row of shops where the Spoons is in Stratford so know the pubs well. Spoons won't have an issue with Away fans and probably the cheapest pint around there and will be open early. Most of the nicer pubs don't open til midday. The Cow is very much a home fans pub. Went there pre-match when me and my Forest supporting mate went in the West Ham end for their match, plenty of hammers fans in there. Same for Tap East that was standing room only (it's a CAMRA Good Beer Guide pub).

What pubs are people aiming for? I'd normally recommend the pubs around Hackney Wick, but they all don't open until 12 on a Sunday. The best option in Stratford I can find that I'm pretty sure are open to away fans is The Sportsman (Formally known as The Goose) https://www.greatukpubs.co.uk/sportsman-stratford It's about a 20-25 min walk away from the away end. Other options are the spoons in Stratford (Golden Grove) or Liverpool St (Hamilton Hall). The pubs/bars nearer the stadium like Tap East, Bat & Ball and The Cow are Home Fans only, but you'd probably be okay without colours on.

I must have been lucky as non STH options came up for me.

Thank you so much for the heads up! Just managed to bag 2 as well. Though awaiting an e-mail from the club to say it was an error or something!

If my West Ham friend wished to buy tickets NOT sat around Bristol City fans going incognito in the home end... what blocks would people suggest he didn't buy tickets in...

Looks like there’s a good chance I’ll be in the home end. Surely this is selling out before Monday

Yeah, I'm pretty sure they sponsored the Dolman Stand after it was redone.

Cheers! There is a 0022 Elizabeth Line to Whitechapel now, so might be able to catch that on the odd time it's early. Thanks for the heads up about the 205, should get me close enough that an onward taxi journey to Barking isn't too expensive if I don't fancy then hopping on a N15.
