  1. 135 points suspended ! Makes you wonder what else they could do that they haven't already done.
  2. Yes, if one doesn't turn up they forfeit the game. Never been involved in a situation where neither turn up! I guess the referee would report whats happened. If no result was reported, the AYL admin would know. They would probably ask both clubs to explain their actions and there would be some punishment. A possible points deduction, they're pretty strict at grass roots level.
  3. If only it was that easy. If your team have a free Sunday, the Avon youth league is now actively moving fixtures forward, without even discussing it with the coaches of either team ! The team we were due to play is involved in the cup and the only team they could force us to play, we would have already played twice. So we've got lucky that weekend.
  4. John Galley, my dads favourite player. We were lucky enough to meet him just before my dad passed away. I'd never seen him star struck before and it was a half an hour chat at the bar that I'll never forget.
  5. Well you'll be disappointed. Would you Adam & Eve it, the team we were due to play that day is involved in ...... a cup match, so I'll see you there.
  6. The day he left it set us back years, if not decades. All that summer worrying he'll go to Villa and he ends up there. A footballing tragedy.
  7. I thought I made my stance quite clear on that, if my youth team have a match, that's where I'll be.
  8. It sure was. Thanks Bristol Sport for prioritising rugby over football. Two consecutive days of lots of empty red seats, good work chaps.
  9. No not 6 months ago, I made my decision 40 odd years ago to follow team sliding down to the bottom of division 4. What do I do when I'm ill? Well, I remember throwing up on the old Dolman steps on the way down to the pitch at the last home game against Swindon in 1984. I was very ill but I wasn't going to miss it. You see I don't like missing my football team play. So for me the football runs a bit deeper than a product with some Ts & Cs. Football at Ashton Gate should always come first and should never be pushed around by an over incestuous relationship with a rugby team that nobody asked for. Looks like they've got their fingers burnt with the Cardiff flop (17k was it), let's hope it doesn't happen again and we can all enjoy watching our football.
  10. What do I do when I'm ill? Depends on the nature of the illness, I might spend most of my time in bed or on the toilet. I fail to see the relevance of that question. No, I can't change the fixtures, so the notice period is again irrelevant. If there was a clash with a cup match on a Sunday I'd miss the cup match, so wrong there I'm afraid. Season tickets don't cover cup matches in football so I can live with that. Why should season ticket holders miss out on games? I couldn't agree more. First time football has been moved for rugby. Well unfortunately it's happened now, lets hope it's not the thin end of the wedge. No I don't moan about matches on TV on a Sunday because by definition, there is an option to watch them. As I understand it there is no such option tomorrow. It would help if there was. Enjoy the game tomorrow.
  11. It's not a choice for me at all. They can give all the warning they want, the FA won't allow me to move a youth football match because of a rugby match in Cardiff. I believe I bought the ticket in March, not June. Talking if choice, it's up to you whether you watch rugby or football. Why should football fans miss out because of different sport being played in a different city? Why is that so hard for you to understand? As I said before, it's a complete joke.
  12. Not much of a choice if you're a coach for one of those teams. As a season ticket holder for a football team, I do find it a bit of a joke that a football match can't be played in Bristol, on the correct day, because some Rugby people might want to watch a Rugby match in Cardiff at the same time. Can I understand people being pissed off (me included) for missing out on a match for that reason, too bloody right. I'll worry about the Premier league when and if we ever get there. I'm beginning to suspect the real reason Ashton Gate was kept free today was in case the Cardiff move was a flop.
  13. In my case it's anything between 9 and 18 ! There's a chance the youth games get called off I suppose.
  14. This is true (I used to work Saturdays and Tuesday nights !), but it's a bit annoying when you've already paid for a season ticket and my son and I have to miss out. If you could substitute your ticket (don't know if it's possible) for Robins TV that would help.
  15. That possibly makes me feel even more peeved about it! Thanks for the explanation. I coach an Avon Youth league team on Sunday mornings, so no chance of getting there. Do you know if there's any way to swap a season ticket for Robins TV for the one game, or is it just pay again?
  16. Okay thanks. It's just that W-S-M Seagull suggested our game was being moved because of the Rugby. Do we know why it was moved back in June, if it wasn't because of Rugby?
  17. For the first time.... Are you saying our match was moved because of a Rugby match being played there, but the fact we're sharing a stadium is irrelevant?
  18. You'd hope their would be, the hierarchy have imposed this Rugby situation on us. If not I'll miss the game. As far as I'm concerned it's a football stadium where a Rugby team sometimes play. The tail should never wag the dog.
  19. I agree he got what he deserved for taking the mick, and I'd like to see referees let more of this go. However, for 40 years at least, any sort of contact with a keeper is given as a foul. Sometimes just jumping in the air next to the keeper at a corner is a foul apparently. Given this, I am surprised the goal was allowed to stand.
  20. The ground was crap but the atmosphere when away fans were in that old wooden stand at Fellows Park Walsall was always very good back in the 80's, even if the results weren't. I remember it being particularly mental in there when Trevor Morgan scored with a late header.
  21. Saw him driving a minibus on North Street yesterday before the match, so still around. Always seems to work hard and has the club at heart.
  22. 15/15 Cardiff and Schalke were guesses mind
