  1. Or Plymouth? Bakinson, Reid and Bryan all went there and have come back better players. He’s still 19 and we need to remember that. Bakinson is 2 years ahead of him, and didn’t Reid go there when we was 22. Long way to go yet for young Han Noah.
  2. This first half screams to me how much we need a midfield of Morrell or Bakinson, Williams and Walsh. We have no link into our forwards this afternoon, whatsoever. Why does he struggle sometimes with the most basic of passes to a team mate?
  3. We need to find Martin's feet and find the runners off him Just the one too many dinked balls over the top to no one right now. Martin less than impressed with Pato just then.
  4. Bannan is a lovely player to watch. He just glides over the pitch.
  5. The best way to beat Barry Bannan is to prevent him getting on the ball in the first place. As long as our midfield fight to win the 2nd balls and we retain possession, that will go a long way to keeping Bannan quiet.
  6. Great write up I’m guessing we’ll go unchanged from last Sunday and rightly so. I also always feel more comfortable when teams match up our 3-5-2, as I feel we often get picked apart when facing 4-3-3 or similar. Holden did mention that we might have a few back and ready for injury so perhaps Dasilva could be ready? Straight swap for Rowe it so. Would love for Kalas to be ready too, but I have a feeling we’ll give him until after the international break just to make sure that the shoulder is strengthened.
  7. Really want to see a midfield three of Bakinson, Williams and Walsh. Could be exciting that.
  8. Exactly. We’ve been trash pretty much all over the shop. I’m sure you could give me more shocking stats on others too. Are we gonna slag Semenyo off for that shocking shot just then too? Team as a whole has been brutal and a huge reality check.
  9. The whole team look bereft of confidence tonight, not much coming off for anyone. Really wish we could stop singling out individuals when the reality is most have been completely overwhelmed by the opposition in terms of class and tactics.
  10. Fam cannot make the ball stick like Martin can. Makes the jobs of the midfielders so much harder when your striker is having a mare.
  11. Possibly, but he went on a run out of defence (which was encouraging) in the first few mins at 0-0 and gave it straight to them, allowing a dangerous counter. Just needs to calm himself down.
  12. You're focusing on things that I didn't mention. He's had plenty of time to find a red shirt on several occasions but has overplayed and given the ball away on numerous occasions. Vyner has found his passes most of the time, even Rowe has. It's the other stuff that Rowe has struggled with. I'm only bringing this up as people bang on about him being a ball carrying CB, but he's not showing it so far. He just needs to stand up and be counted tonight, which is what I'd expect from anyone who captains Bristol City against Premier League opponents in a cup game.
  13. Ridiculous isn't it. I'd say the only players to come out of that half in credit are the keeper, Vyner, Sess and Semenyo. Villa have targeted Rowe/Eliasson just as any competent manager would upon seeing our line up. We have absolutely no bite in midfield, spending too much time admiring them at the moment.
