I was looking this morning at seats in the Dolman. It's still obviously more than I would have paid for a South stand season ticket but less than the Lansdown.

What is going through my mind is the marketing spill of "only a limited number of sesson tickets on sale" "we don't want too many more season ticket holders" etc etc.

So I'm sat here thinking I'd be annoyed if we did have success and then I was unable to buy a season ticket.

    I’ve cracked it mate.
Buy one in the Family Stand, invent a phantom 8 year old in order to be eligible. Total £460.
Then sit somewhere in the South Stand where there will always be an empty seat somewhere due to other phantom 8 year olds.
    😉

If you can’t beat ‘em, join ‘em!!

And in my eyes the greatest ever, but I don’t see how that compares to a footballer who won 50 caps for Wales(every death is sad)

You’re the one who mentioned him?

    That EFL statement in horrendous.
    They just don’t get it.
All they mention in there is that things were previously discussed but there were no financial agreements.
Basically they are saying that if they get some more money they’ll agree to it.
They don’t appear to mention anything about the joy of the competition and how enticing and exciting it can be for fans of non prem teams to be drawn against superior opposition. The chance of a battling draw at home to be given the opportunity of a lifetime for some players and certainly of fans to visit the top teams and stadiums.
There is zero connection to any emotions in that statement. It’s just all financial.
And we’re expected to believe that the likes of Parry, Ridsdale and Moxey sat there and said nothing! Yeah right.

Hang on - youre saying if we didn’t have replays, Tinnions goal against Liverpool wouldn’t have been immortalised? And by extension, he wouldn’t have been portrayed as a club legend and engineered his way into a role on more than one occasion where he could bugger the club up from the inside?

Ive changed my mind. **** replays.

And we wouldn’t have had our tinpot celebration days this season!!

Was friendly with a few Pompey lads years ago ( lost touch now ) a few of them use to come up to Bristol and have a few beers with other city lads , proper down to earth blokes , proper old school tough city with the added bonus of a nice front in southsea ,

if I’m correct they got no real town centre bit like Stoke ( mind you Stoke got xxxx xxx)

Don’t know if it’s the same lads but there was always a decent bunch of old school Pompey lads who we always met up with at England away days. Pete Mayes and his mob.
    Thoroughly good blokes.

That means one of these two. Osman was Manager from Jan 93 to November 94 apparently.

Pretty sure I was at the 3-2 win.
The book says Shelton , Bryant & Gavin got our goals.

That 3-3 in 1992 was an interesting game - both on and off the pitch!

    Dear Bristol City Fans,

We are 4 Belgians (in our late thirties) visiting your lovely city the last weekend of april.

As we are massive football fans, we bought tickets for the Rotherham United Game (Dolman Stand seats).

As our passion for beer even exceeds our passion for football, we're looking for a Bristol City legend(s) to show us the Bristol City FC pub life before, during and (god willing) after the game.

Beers, snacks and tales of heroic football games are on us + an invite to do the same in Bruges for the next Club Bruges game.

Please let us know by replying on this post, or contacting me on whatsapp +32498760835.

    Thanks for considering our request.

    Bart, Bruno, Thomas & Frederic

    Hi Bart.
Do you guys have any rivalry with Royal Antwerp?
We have a couple of Antwerp fans who come over and watch us quite regularly (a strange connection that started with an online disagreement after they visited us for a friendly but ended with a good friendship - a few of us were treated very well when we visited Antwerp too).

For pubs - guess it depends what you’re looking for.
The Mardyke was suggested above - good cheap pub that is often frequented pre match by ‘lads’.
The Nova Scotia is a nice pub with outdoor seating by the river. Your more discerning gentleman would be present here.
El Rincon (otherwise known as The Spanish Bar) is a small pub but the lads in there are great and here you’ll find some of the Section 82 lads (those who you’d likely call Tifosi). I’m sure they’d make you feel welcome. @James
For just a more normal pub near the ground there’s the Rising Sun or The Robins.
And course nowadays there is the Fan Zone at the ground with lots of food and drink available.

Loads of other pubs and bars, especially on North Street for before and after.

Here’s the contribution by one of our Antwerp chaps when we played Man City in the cup semi final a couple of years ago 🤣🤣 …..

    @Harry I doubt you’ll make the edit!

Which was exactly why we used some rather colourful language when he was filming in earshot.
I didn’t give my consent so I didn’t wanna make the cut! 😁

I think it's as simple as Alonso is waiting for his Real dream job - Madrid next summer.

    Yeah could be.
That’ll be hilarious, if Liverpool want him but he goes to Madrid. Those humble scousers won’t understand, as they think they are the only attraction

Fantastic for them and hopefully they can go the rest of the season unbeaten which I think will be a first.

Amazed Alonso is staying to be honest as how many times will the Liverpool job come up but something very refreshing about him wanting to stay and lead them next year.

Who wants to follow Klopp though? It’s the poison chalice that was following Wenger and Ferguson.

I think Alonso is being very clever avoiding it this time around and they’ll be clamouring for him in 2 years time once the Klopp successor fails.

If it was the duo I saw elsewhere around the stadium, their cameras had the Feverpitch "fp" logo stickers on them.

In the lawless wastes of the family stand, it was probably a documentary on feral kids.

    Very true.
My daughter and her friend went into the girls toilets a few games ago and were accosted by a 6 year old girl who threw her coat over my daughters head!
They call her the scary goblin now.

  13. Anyone know what the 2 guys with cameras were doing?
At one point one of them sat behind us and was filming. As I don’t know what it’s for it made me uncomfortable so I decided to say “please do not say **** or ********” so hopefully that footage won’t make the cut 😁

No seriously though - anyone know?

  14. Since when has “on the grass” come into the game? They all bloody say it nowadays. It’s probably only been the last 2-3 years I’ve heard it and now everyone says it!

They used to say “on the training pitch”. And in those days, the training pitch was actually made of grass.

Now they say “on the grass” when in fact the training pitch is now made of artificial fibres!!

How stupid. Surely they should either say “on the training pitch” or “on the desso”, because saying “grass” is not strictly true!

@Harry - do you think that this is purely linked to MJ being a “Pearson Player” - didn’t want to extend, knowing that NP wouldn’t be here beyond this season?

Now NP has gone - JL and BT want rid of any NP “people”?

Like many others have said, subject to terms, I’d like us to keep MJ as we are currently, a better team with him in the side…..will also allow Bird to settle in, if he is seen as MJ replacement long-term.

No. I don’t believe it’s got anything to do with James being a Pearson player.
It’s more to do with the ‘identity’. Sorry. There’s that word 🤢

As far as I was aware, we want more “knight-types”.
This is a direct quote from someone “we need to get quicker in centre mid”. And that’s why James was not going to be in the plans.

Now, this is all dependent on how you interpret what our ‘style’ is.
If we want to be an out of possession, counter attacking team, then legs in midfield is definitely required.
But if we want to be a possession dominant team, then we need midfielders who can pass and retain.

“More Knight’s” is good for option 1. “More Knight’s” is not ideal for option 2.

So for me it’s a fundamental shift of plan/style/philosophy/identity if we go a certain way on this. Which of course has always been the major issue with moving from one managerial ‘type’ to another.

You don't take him to Boswells cafe?

I do frequent Boswell’s sometimes for lunch. But I only do takeaway. I don’t like to sit inside with the other mutants. 🤣

I have taken KITR to the Vintage Birdcage in Charfield, which he enjoyed. But he did seem very twitchy and out of his comfort zone. You see, as he’s a resident of Long Ashton, he seemed like he was half expecting someone in the cafe to be shouting obscenities, drinking cider so cloudy you couldn’t see the brewers foreskin in there, and for a disturbance to occur between a group of teen moms. So the next time he visited he preferred to stay in my house for a cuppa instead.

Or Manning wants him to too, but the club (Tinnion) still won’t allow it. Not sure what would be worse.

Yep. Could go either way. All I know is that the James contract extension was definitely something that Nige and “the club” disagreed on.
