  1. Maybe they’ve given up all hope for playing in the EFL and going to join the 5 a side league instead....
  2. So, "going in with my eyes open", "have I the right" to expect a win? City, "you don't have to be a star," but "don't stop" til you get a win? "Oh boy", "gimme some" wins and play "free" and LJ won't be a "lonely boy"! We don't wanna be "rock bottom". City fans, "stick together" and"enjoy yourself" but if "red light spells danger", you could be saying "good morning judge". "I might be lying", but "Knowing me, knowing you" we'll stick "together".
  3. Thread title should probably read (imho) : “If, in the very unlikely event based on SL’s current strategy, we reach the Premier League” Or just I dreamt I dwelt in Premier League’s marbled halls... Seriously, in answer to question - can’t see any I’m afraid.
  4. Similar boat. I agree, as clear as mud. on the one hand says will auto renew but then above says previous subscribers will have to create a new account. When going to BS page, didn’t recognise my email details so created a new account but haven’t paid yet for audio renewal yet (in case renews automatically! Some clarification would certainly be useful including if previous bcfc order history retained.
  5. About time “The Vixens” became “The Robins” to align with the men’s team. Doesnt make sense to keep the old nickname when Bristol Academy is in the past and they’re wearing our strips now (including I presume the white away top this season with a robin and not a vixen). Probably will happen in time but they may as well get on within it.
  6. Based on EPs article yesterday, it seems we can’t have 2 badges on playing shirts so I’m not expecting robin on third kit now. Stuck with the crest for another season but I live in hope it might change in the future.
  7. Now understand a bcfc robin t shirt. (Hadn’t seen the video).
  8. Much like Wolves, Forest and Derby, the badges look cleaner without the club name. Just the bridge, robin and ball will do for me. Fans should recognise our badge without us having to spell it out.
  9. Great to see the robin back. While not as iconic for me as the 76 badge, it’s infinitely better than the insipid coat of arms. well done, the club/BS/Jon L.
  10. I lived in Glasgow through the 70s so me and other English boys had to put up with “we gonna win the World Cup” big time (as well as the 77 Wembley calamity after which my teacher had Wembley turf in her car, but that’s another story). They started well with a Jordan goal but from then on went pear shaped. I cheered when Cubillas scored the Peru third from 18 yards. I even looked at the Peru replica top in Sauciehall Street but thought better of it. then the 1-1 Iran draw and the surprise 3-2 win v Holland. To be fair that was a cracking game with some memorable goals (Haan and Gemell’s particularly) but it was too late for Scotland. That was probably the best team they’ve ever had and the high point. It was a shame for them but at least it shut them up and “the English” had the last laugh even though we didn’t even qualify :-)
  11. SL has said he considered 35k capacity before the re-development started and decided against it as if we get to the PL the capacity is secondary to the PL money. Shame really. Can't see it happening for the foreseeable future even if the ground looks a bit unfinished with the Atyeo being dwarfed by the other stands.
  12. Here's the link (at about 4 mins.) Speaks for about 15 mins. https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p064nktj
  13. That sounds about right. Better trying to sign the other Watkins, Ollie (Brentford) though missed the boat on him first time round.
  14. Certainly in fees it seems. Maybe not wages. They did pay £6m for Madine I acknowledge but many of the others were frees including Bamba, Hoilett, Etheridge and Mendez Laing). We've spent a lot cumulatively on fees (£1m-£2m on various players and £5m etc) and many haven't played regularly or at all. Maybe if SL were to tweak his approach and pay less on fees and allow for higher salaries (but same net spend), we might get some better quality in (and have to rely less on higher risk foreign buys)? Anyway, no doubt Warnock has done well with the players they've signed as a whole.
  15. Exactly. In any role, past performance/experience is the best indicator of future performance. Warnock's done it again and again... Congratulations to him. The only time SL has employed someone with Championship promotion experience was Coppell (that didn't go too well). With the funds, LJ's had, would have loved to see what Warnock could have done here.
  16. Fair play to them. Done well. I wouldn’t begrudge them that. Not as if our fans did anything like that this season....
  17. Probably 3, including SL who sets the strategy and for appointing LJ and MA for the poor recruitment.
  18. Warnock seems the Cotts version for the Championship. Players running through brick walls echoes our L1 title winning side so definite similarities. Great team spirit too but that's what promotion winning sides tend to have and need.
  19. Not an LJ thread but about the person many on here love to hate - Neil Warnock. (Personally would love to have seen what he could do with City but can't see this happening). An interesting read: https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/43948672 Good quote at the end too: "You won't always agree with some of the stuff he does or says but, by the time that whistle is ready to go on a Saturday afternoon, you want to run through a brick wall for him."
  20. Thanks for that. Clearly is used then and everything may help to give you an advantage but ultimately team selection, substitutions and tactics etc. are much bigger factors influencing the final result and we could certainly improve there.
  21. Whether LJ measures the grass length at away grounds I don’t know. Has anyone seen him doing so? But if he does, has it made a difference to how we play? It doesn’t seem to have made any difference to away results in the second half of the season so there’s a question why he’d even raise this unless to create a perception of being a manager using scientific techniques and “finding the extra 1%”. It’s a small point and it’s unlikely to win you games but not convinced it was worth mentioning in the first place.
  22. Clearly a new Pilot strategy.
  23. Even though effectively 2 points with goal difference, you (and jrabrewer) are quite right. Apologies.
  24. Not if Derby win unfortunately. We’d still be 3 points behind them.
