What are your immediate end of season thoughts?
1960maaan replied to Jerseybean's topic in Football Chat
This season has been the first step forward for a while. Previously we have done housekeeping, repairs and some patching up and laying foundations. Now this feels like we are starting to actually build something and move on. We have the bones of a decent squad. We have a side willing to work hard. We have some promising young talent, even if Scott goes. We have an idea how the team wants to play. We have a squad who seem to know their roles. And we have targets to fill out and boost the squad. I genuinely feel we have reason to be optimistic for next Season. -
My dream of seeing City at Goodison next Season is fading fast. Bloody selfish lot , all of 'em

I could get picky with a few things, but seems pointless ATM, sorry at the moment I think we have a genuine reason for optimism for next year. Good summer, signings in early and we could be pushing towards the top 10, 6 even. It's going to be a long summer. -

Ref didn't see the kick fair enough. But he has a word with Dykes so what's he seen. Should be a booking at least as Sykes got sent off for the same. -

Shame Tommy hasn't got his shooting boots on, 2 very good opportunities and should have done better when he hit the side netting. Sykes proving he can get goals is a big bonus for next year and having Naismith pinging those passes to him is a real threat. Pring has been good at both ends and James has been good. Good away performance so far, but need to be clinical against sides when we dominate. -
So many favs. The original T.C. as Manager at 40ish bombing down the wing ? Has Chris Garland had a mention? Gutted when he left, hero when he came back. Dave Smith, never seen anyone cross that well at full pace. Clive Whitehead , still the best winger I've seen. Daren Barnard , Dave Rennie , Ade Akinbye , Carl Shutt , Albert of course. The longer you think the more you can come up with.

I know not to make assumptions about who's on or not on the bench, so I'll just say that we are not going up to park the bus -
Just watched Northampton get Promotion at Tranmere, then the table flashes up. Mansfield 2-0 away win and Salford losing t home 1-0 , meant Salford nicked the last playoff spot from Mansfield by one goal !! Over the entire season they are one goal conceded better. Both scored 72 but Mansfield let in 55 to Salfords 54. Talk about small margins. In the Championship less excitement . In reality Millwall score earl and that's that. But , If Cov & Millwall start slowly and Blackburn, Sun'land and WBA get early goals it might add some interest.

Great track & really good band (we'll ignore Wigwam bam & Little Willy , even though I bought them at the time ) . Always seemed to be peoples 2nd band, my favs were Slade and a mate's T.Rex , they never really challenged those two even if they may have deserved it.

Would have made a hell of a last day, and my money would have been on Cardiff dropping down ...... shame Huddersfield V Reading Burnley V Cardiff Wigan V Rotherham QPR V next years Champions

Milner is 37, feels like a back up signing or making up the squad, all be it a good player. Scott would be seen as one for the future and could be eased in , while Milner is ready to go, for a year at or so least. They seem in good shape financially . Looking at the posts above. TV (£100M) , Net transfers (£100m), Potter + Caicedo (£90M) . Best part of a £300M War chest without doing too much.

I was just thinking I had some great video of the pitch, all lost in the great bag of old phones purge of about 2011. That clip is superb.

First few notes, yeah, hell of a spot that. I had to Youtube the track to remind myself.

Bit of a new convert to Jazz, never got it before and still don't get free form stuff. Just got Almost Blue by Miles Davis to go with fairly recent stuff by Mose Allison and Art Blakey. A newer album by Merton Parkas & Style Councillor Mick Talbot and Chris Bangs is great too. At the other end, got "Casual sex at the Cineplex" by Sultans of Ping. I've only ever watched the youtube stuff or listened on Spotify , meant to see them a few times over the years and not made it, my mate's a fan. I heard they were good live.

Agree. While it sometimes feels like one game defines your season, because you need 1/2/3 points and you don't get them, in their position you have to look at the 6 points and where you would be without the deduction. Sheff have nothing to play for, and while I don't think they will just turn up and roll over, I doubt you will get the fully committed side. I think even lacking that 10% could be enough and for me, it feels like a draw.
