  1. Both teams look like they’d be happy to call it 0-0 and end the game now tbh
  2. Ffs we win back to back games and he comes back
  3. I’m at a loss here….why are the trains 2+ hours from BTM, but only one or two stops to Paddington not the usual five? Engineering works? A very slow moving train for us all then!
  4. Stoke have some of the richest owners in the whole EFL, so would (and do) ‘try’ as the wages they can offer both managers and staff would be far above what someone like we would if they could sway with cash alone, have the pull of getting back to being an established PL club as they were for many season etc.
  5. If they thought they could pry him out of there, when they were on a 25-odd game unbeaten streak, at a club that’s arguably bigger than us, they’re even more naive than we thought. Then again, SL tried to sound out Eddie Howe when Holden went, so maybe it’s to be expected!
  6. An owner who doesn’t continue to take a back seat, but then continue to meddle in stuff he really doesn’t need to get involved in for someone of his level. An owner who can actually let his ego and control go, and put a proper football operation structure (and football department) in place, and bring in people properly experienced for those new levels and positions. I find the financial backing stuff a bit tiresome and weak as a reason. There’s absolutely no doubting the money he’s put in. Great. But that sort of comes with the territory of owning something like a sports club. It’s like owning a house and then moaning when you have to pay to fix a water leak. Stadium and training ground, much better than before he took over. It all adds to the value of the club….And he wants all that money back, It’s not like he’s a donator to a charity!
  7. They’re charging £38 a ticket in some areas for the Pompey game as they’re struggling financially. Manager can’t bring in his own staff yet, probably as they’ve spent an obscene amount of cash sacking off Barton and his crew. Matt Taylor will be on a huge contract relative to them. It all stinks of “I didn’t realise we’d have to put THIS much in” from the new men.
  8. October - “we’re replacing Nige to give us the best chance of promotion this season” December - “Liam is settling well, but it’s going to take time” The three musketeers really do contradict themselves at every turn
  9. Merry Christmas all, and a HNY. 2023 has been the worst year of my life by a long way, so very excited for it to be over. Here’s to a much brighter ‘24 for all, on and off the pitch. Xx
  10. Was very good, as expected. Really delicious brocolli rigatoni dish. Service brilliant too. Nice touch that they’ve really taken the OG pasta loco decor with them too.
  11. The latter, yeah. I think it’s rare, but there’s definitely cases of it.
  12. Most impressive he’s looked for many a year
  13. I think near enough any L1/Champ manager gets life changing money to be sacked these days, such is the modern world. Believe we were still paying LJ on a weekly basis until the end of his initially agreed contract before getting sacked, even when he took the Sunderland job and was in employment again.
  14. “He’s trying to implement his style but it’s hard for him because he’s on his own, he hasn’t got his own coaching staff with him. I feel sorry for him. The club need to sort that out as soon as possible” Rag ass lose again, and their own player has to call the club out to back the new man after about 2 weeks. Surely the oil rich legends must be able to afford whoever they want???
  15. Well that ruins any excitement for AJ Wilder then. Again, another one that’s being talked about years too late. What actual genuine exciting heavyweight fights are there left to make?
