  1. I’m losing track on it all to be honest. There’s so many contradicting statements/comments. Put in the other thread, but Tinnion said pre Man City (I think, might’ve been later actually) that we had a list of targets for if Alex stays vs an additional list for if he goes. Pearson says the players signed pre season were signed to play alongside Alex, quote Knight isn’t a replacement for Alex, he’s here to play with him. After Alex js sold, SL says in his Guernsey chat that we always knew Alex was going to be sold, so we preemptively spent some of that money on the incomings that came in before he left. ??????
  2. He’s probably in the mindset of this is my last ever year of work, so why stop early. Clearly loves the job, immersed in the area that he lives in….no real need to if you’ll be finished up in 8 months anyway. Sad reality
  3. You and me both. I genuinely have no idea why, of all the times, Lansdown decides that now is the time to pull the rug up. Hearing Pearson last night on RB depressed me and has properly dampened my excitement for the season tbh. Tinnion went on record to say there’s a list of targets to sign if Alex stays, and if he goes. Pearson said Knight was signed to play alongside Alex for 46 games, not replace him. Lansdown says…….we spent some of the Alex money ‘in advance of him leaving because we knew he would(??!?!??)’, and now there is no replacement, at all. What changed? This is where we can just hope for a decent, challenging appearance on Radio Bristol or something not from the club media, because there’s a lot of stuff not adding up for me.
  4. No he will be involved of course, but I’m saying it’s not going to be solely down to him. The front 3 set up is definitely an issue. They’re far, far too far apart from each other in the home games. That needs to be a coaching focus. Not helped by losing Tommy for 3 months, 60 minutes into the season of course
  5. And considering the club arent backing Pearson for a Scott replacement, he’s gonna have to try make it work with what we have. And that’ll mean trying stuff like this.
  6. Far too early to say on Mehmeti….some were saying better than Semenyo after his first 2 games. Will we sell him for more than we bought him for in years to come? Definitely, imo. Cornick, jury’s out still. Want to see him centrally. We did try to sign the lad from Bolton on a perm, long term deal and got offered the same to stay at Bolton. It happens. TGH is a really good player, and was forced to leave WBA because of their money issues. I’m sure if Pearson could’ve, that would’ve been a perm too. Absolutely none of these will be solely Pearson decisions. They’ll be Alexander and Tinnion choices too, so definitely not managers call. Managers call, rightfully, as we can all read between the lines is that we need more reinforcements with the Scott money. But he isn’t going to get it.
  7. I think, in SL’s eyes, that season was the season we went up. LJ got sacked the minute it was mathematically impossible to get into the play offs, and said in an interview somewhere he felt we should’ve gone up that year. Based on basically nothing, but he does seem to get himself set on something with no reason why with no one saying the opposite, even more obvious recently with him saying our squad is far better than Luton’s!
  8. Deffo not L2 or conference… but highly doubt he will get offers from a L1 club he’d happily want to take. Would put money on going abroad.

    XG?

Is based on the chances you create, basically. So if you have a penalty, that’ll create an xG of 1 straight away as you’re expected to score in that situation. Or if a team gets battered, but scores a 35 yard goal, their xG will be tiny as they’ve scored a worldie which wasn’t expected. People call it pointless, but it’s very very indicative of overall performance and dominance of a game. Give me consistently positive xG over possession any day of the week, as is being shown with a lot of clubs atm as largely useless.
  10. No shock Holden has been given the boot. His record there is pretty abysmal. Be amazed if he gets another manager gig now. Clearly a great coach but seemingly lacking the discipline and authority, if his time here is anything to go off.
  11. That’s literally their only strategy for the foreseeable. Done it every season for as long as anyone can remember. This season it’s even heavier on that with even more expensive loans, and even more expensive 1 or 2 year deals on ancient players who they think are brilliant, but will be in for a cold dark winter if they’re forced to play 3 games a week consistently. Compounded by their brilliant owner earlier in the year saying there’s no point having an academy as the cost of it doesn’t warrant it….brilliant.
  12. Would be amazed if he takes another domestic job next. Can see him going abroad. Don’t think many L1 clubs would take a chance on him, the ones he would want anyway. Penny for Reuben McAllister’s thoughts too….risky/silly career choice.
  13. Sounds like he’s been listening to his da…..agent a bit too much and is probably waiting for a top half prem team to come in and guarantee him 90 mins every game.
  14. They are just genuinely very thick on there. It’s like a bad car crash. I know I shouldn’t look but I’m just intrigued. Some of the stuff they really debate or believe is incredible. They do truly think it’s the Green Party who’ve stopped the whole stand rebuild process. Beggars belief! **** me. Case, point. They were pushing top 2 when they signed Hunt last week. Now suddenly they need a final 104th signing of the window or else they’re doomed ??
  15. Schalke have had crowds of 60,000+ for their first 2 home games of the season. Crazy.
  16. Can’t be too far off the sack at this stage. The replies to their ft tweets say it all
  17. Ffs radio Bristol saying they didn’t deserve to lose. Christ. They were dominated and keeper had to make a few brilliant saves to stop it being worse. But yeah, local media are negative about them and love us. Ffs
  18. Imagine being bantered off by ******* Wycombe ffs ???
  19. What a brilliant win for L1 galaticos. I’m sure it’s all the refs fault despite being totally dominated and Wycombe losing two players to injury
  20. Wycombe walking all over them. 0-2. If not for their keeper it’d be 0-4.
  21. Blimey, if that’s the standard of the L1 galaticos after the team of superstars they’ve assembled, R Joe is gonna be after another 6 signings before next week
