Did we win 5-3? I remember the game - but not who scored! -
I had a struggle and also had to be let in with a card. The helpful man who sorted it made several suggestions, including running the phone from top to bottom over the scanner. I was a bit dubious when the match changed from Preston to Birmingham on the ticket while I was in the queue. I thought, I'm not that late! The date was still correct though. I have used the phone to buy stuff, so thought it would be okay.

Thank you for the tribute Fordy62. Such sad news. Condolences to Woodsy's family and friends. I shall be sure to smile at the robins nesting near my back door.

Despite witnessing far more limp first round exits than exhilarating cup runs over many years, I found myself trying to sort tickets this morning before going on holiday. Oh well. I notice they are not issuing digital tickets for this, by the way . . . !

I was on the East End too that night. I remember it began as what you might call a normal drop kick punt up the field from the edge of his box. It was caught by the gusty wind and surprised Hull keeper Jeff Wealands, who left his line to collect but misjudged the bounce and got stranded as the ball sailed over him and nestled in the net. His startled stance in the aftermath linger in my memory as much as the City players rushing back to mob stunned Cashley. I don't think it was recorded anywhere. This was before Jonathan Pearce's dad started filming matches for Alan Dicks to do analysis, as far as I know. I do recall Roger Malone trying to get Cashley recreate the moment the next day for HTV in broad daylight. Of course, the wind had dropped and Cash's attempts for the camera got nowhere near.

Many thanks. It was familiar at the time! -

What was the tune, please? I have already forgotten! Senior moment. My missus liked the wahoooooo bit! -
Just noticed he's gone on loan to Gillingham, so not impressing the Imps either it seems.

Fabulous to see this, plus the typical tenacity from Gerry Gow to prelude the magnificent strike.
-
Hope he's okay. Perhaps he will chat to the media later.

He had a distinctive voice and spoke with a lot of authority. The iconic match not mentioned by the BBC here was his coverage of City's 1-0 win at Old Trafford in the old Second Division around 1974. I seem to remember him thanking Alan Dicks for daylight robbery! RIP Gerald.

RIP Bobby. A terrier and a bulldog all in one.

The Coronavirus and its impact on sport/Fans Return (Merged)

Yes, that was in today's Times. Got mentioned on the Sky TV Sunday Supplement programme. Would be incredible to win the play- offs and be playing in the Prem perhaps within two weeks. What sort of odds would you get on staying up?! Some talk of the transfer window being open to October. -

Football authorities more decisive than the government - who knew? It's going to be very boring though after the initial shock. -
Tick tock?

I would like to see a change for sure. Don't know who they could get in at this stage.

Spot on.

One of the problems is that top clubs will start signing the best players for the next season in January. Bristol's play-off campaign carried on until almost June so they did not know for sure they would be in the Premiership until then. Most of the players had already opted for other clubs by then. Plus the gap is wider than ever.
