    Semenyo recall

hmmm slighlty misleading thread title , just to think all the abuse you'd be getting if this was in the transfer forum. I do agree with what most have said better off getting more experience and then see how he trains in pre season.

    David Wagner

Doesn't seem that way regarding Huddersfield statement, as he was only going to be there until the end of the season anyhow .

A day to forget for Joe Bryan and Fulham

Looked to be on target so did the best he could to stop it going in , put in two excellent crosses shown on Motd .

Bristol City v Bolton Wanderers Match Day 27

Good to hear about famara as I do worry about his link up play at times .

    Man C v Liverpool

Brilliant first half I would say Man City have had the better midfield and attacking intent, although Liverpool only need a lapse from Kompany for a goal as mane shows.

    Our "play-style"

I think it does show LJ weakness in not being able to adapt his favourable style of slick ,pressing up high, short passing football , without having a Tammy/Bobby pressing type of striker.

    No Eisa

I was really looking forward to seeing him play , even to bring him on for last 15 mins even just means the opposition to stretch the play with his pace. If he does get loaned out I wouldn't be suprised to see us bring another striker seeing as MT is injury prone.

    Weimann (Merged)

Which is why we should see him in a central position to link up the play... though to be honest I think both of our full backs could of done better for both goals then put all the blame on AW

    Goin Nowhere Doin Nothing

I think with this squad we have this year we dont have the same agreesive game play, maybe LJ lacks confidence in his team. we do miss players ( we sold ) who can turn a game on it's head with a little magic. Maybe the team will improve as we get players back from injury but sadly last season was a really good chance to get a top 6 finish and it didnt work out. There is quite a bit of tinkering espcially with strike partnerships but at the moment the league is close , so I could think of worse times to tinker a little aslong as LJ sticks to a team soon. In the end it just goes back to where you want city to finish and are your hopes realistic? Our defence is organised our midfield although not that creative does it's job , I don't think we'll finish lower than say 14th but with some injury luck and scoring from all over team top 10 is possible.

WBA v Bristol City Matchday Thread

Opened up far too easily! quite frustrating after such a dominating first 15 minutes!

LJ publicly puts pressure on SL for signings

Obviously I do not know who we went for signing wise this season but its so easy to say why didnt we sign those players... I'm on the fence with this one.... my first instinct is to say we signed players early and sold most early too so we knew what we were doing saving money wise...so it is painful for watch us do this. The other part of me wonders maybe we did go for quality players but couldn't persaude them to come here or afford there wages... It's easy to splash 5-10 million on a player but then we have to pay the high wages.we are competeting with teams with parachute payments and teams like Forest who are just throwing money about like there is no tomorrow. I know we havent done that well with the european market.... hence why we have not got this route this time but this also is another constraint if all other champ teams are going for the same players.

    The importance of saying no

Out of interest if Flint and Reid left in days not so close enough do you think you would feel the same ? Might of it been a easier pill to swallow if we had signed their replacements knowing who they were before they went? Flint appeared to want to move on from last season and Reid didnt sign a new contract so made his intentions clear...no one could of known Reid would have such a good season. If we get offers for players Like O'Dowda , Pack, Brownhill would you like the club to make this known to the public knowledge that we rejected their offers?

    The importance of saying no

Completely agree with this... people also forget how much Player/agent power there is too, aswell as people wanting a new challenge. Lets not kid ourself Flint wouldn't of signed his new contract if he didn't have some sort of agreement or clause... Would it be worth keeping a player who didnt want to be here ? I'm not saying I know the truth here but so many are just blaming the club... Yet people bemoaned when other players left for barely anything. Reid going from his goodbye interview I feel like he knows how hard he has worked to get where he is and maybe the prem dream wont come again.... no one told Reid to leave... if he loved City as much as he did he would of signed a new contract or declined the move... which he did neither and would of gone for free next summer unless we make the prem ( which of course I hope we do )

    Adam Webster - Now signed

I think you might be right regarding Baker and a few more players chipping in, I seem rememeber a current player saying in a interview or on the radio that Flint would always want the ball and did get angry if it isnt sent his way. Which to be fair Flint scored enough to ask for it in set peices but maybe we will see more other players score from set plays.

    Adam Webster - Now signed

Interesting comments from Ipswich fans Unbelievable really. He's been probably the most promising player we've had over the past couple of years.. But on the other hand a decent profit. Personally I'd keep him and build a defence around him. I'm in two minds about this one. Webster is clearly a technically proficient player, but he is very injury-prone and I think his form is more inconsistent than some supporters believe. £5m would be a good bit of business, but £3.5m (potentially rising to £8m) which is now being reported is a little harder to swallow considering we bought him for £700,000 odd plus trading in Clarke. I agree that the fee has to be reinvested, otherwise we won't be able to compete. As for Webster, the number appearances for us (because of his injury problems) makes me think we might come out of this deal better off - 25 games out of 46 last season, 23 games out of 46 in the one before.
