  1. Was Ashton watching us or Ipswich today? Anyone know?
  2. I appreciate that but SL said the balance sheet will look horrific this year and I don't expect we'll get 15000 s/t sales for the coming season. I will renew cos I'm a 70 year old life long supporter but I know many who are hesitant and have found different priorities.
  3. I agree with your post but the trouble with a 2 or 3 year rebuild is that it requires you to trim the deadwood each season and add to your strengths. The trouble is we tend to sale our strengths each year in order to survive. Can City afford to change that policy?
  4. Selling our best players will always put us back. We should build a squad around our best assets to propel us forwards. However its not the City way.
  5. The Uncle Albert of the footballing fraternity.
  6. Going back to Rowe. The thing about that backpass was not that he got it wrong, it was that he thought it would be ok to play it anyway. Who instills this "play it backwards" mentality into our players, especially when chasing the game in the latter stages. we have ended up with the ball to Bentley from our own corners this season, and from free kicks in the opposition half. Its utter madness and negative in the extreme.
  7. Thats just as I see it CC. Our first thought is backwards, always. Getting it forward doesnt have to mean hoofball. Anyone who saw Tinnion play will tell you it IS possible to play it 40 yards forward to your own player. Our players seem to accept protecting the score even when we are losing.
  8. Seems to me that with SL stranded in Guernsey, and JL stranded in Bermuda, we are sailing a rudderless ship, and it shows!
  9. Back passing possession football has been my pet hate at City for years. We are just soooo negative on our approach. How much are we missing Weimann? He may not always have done much with the ball down the channels but at least it was a forward pass in the opponents half. We are so frustratingly slow going forward. The first thought is ALWAYS backwards.
  10. You make it sound like I'm suggesting 2 or 3 seasons time which I'm not. If we could view the league tables now for 10-12 years in the future, I'm sure there would be many surprises. 10 years ago who would have thought Bournemouth would have had a spell in the Prem or Sunderland be league 1. Footballs a funny old game, someone once said!
  11. I hope the injury isn't serious. Callum is like so many in our team. Good individually but not able to function as a team.
  12. No one red wants us to drop to their level. But if we got established in the Premier and then Rovers worked their way up to the Premier too, then whats wrong with that? Some on here are just scared that they might beat us. Get real. Its just a game of football. Have the past 12 months taught you nothing?

Thought he looked busy and positive but no movement ahead of him again. Why are our forwards so static all the time. Midfielders have no options ahead of them. Keep him next year but ditch Fam and maybe Wells too.
  14. I'm City through and through but a Premiership Bristol derby would be great for this region. Never happen in my lifetime though. I'm over 70 now.
  15. NPs training manual. "Kick towards the opposition goal." It's working well so far innit?
  16. Wouldnt have enough dough!
  17. Wait til Nige asks for 25 million in the transfer window.
  18. I'm going right out on a limb tonight and going for Wells and Semenyo to nab a goal each and for Taylor Moore to NOT score an OG!
  19. It's what he does and does well. Deflects attention away from his players. It's why there is a thread on NW and not one on his players. Job done.
  20. I've said on previous threads that our squad has plenty of players who are good enough if they have the right coaching, which hopefully they will now get. Wells will be a different player now , if played correctly, and it will give our midfield options forward rather than sideways or back. I am cautiously optimistic but it wont be an instant fix.
  21. Maybe players will try to up their game to impress NP. We might see an improvement but I'm always wary against NW. His mind games seem to affect us.
  22. Good luck Rovers. He may just be the right fit for you.
