We have one of the best defensive records in the division and a poor goals scored record. That alone tells you it's binary for the major part.

46 clean sheets in a season will get you relegated if you don't score at the other end. We desperately need to be more positive in attack. Goals win games not clean sheets.

Well, I have succumbed to renewal for City and Bears but I'm still unsure about City being able to do well and  manage to get into the top six after 46 games.

However, as I'm coming up to 81st birthday, still fit and able enough to get to the matches. I have done so because this life isn't a rehearsal, I am keeping all my interests going as long as I can.

So it's dog walking twice a day, model railway construction any spare time, City and Bears for entertainment(?) keeping the garden alive and still doing all the cooking as wife is useless at that. But I still want to see running, flowing rugby and a football team that will provide entertaining matches, win, lose or draw.

PS. Can we please arrange for Rebecca Welsh to referee all of our matches, the best and impartial, referee I have seen in many years.

Likewise and for many the same reasons. Approaching 80 now so too old to stop doing things voluntarily, life stops that in its own time.

I admit I don't like Manningbore so I'm hoping next term he either changes the style of play, or we ditch him because he hasnt!!

Getting to A G is difficult enough at any time without all the ko times being altered. Let's hope it's worth the effort next year.

Right at the very end. It isn't my technology Dave. I'm glad it worked for you this time. They are aware of issues. I've had numerous conversations with them about Word Pay and its failings. That aside, merely pointing out that leaving it to the last minute to renew not necessarily a good idea. Piss take booking fee as well given the large amount of money being spent. Oh, such joy.

How much was the booking fee and was it per booking or per ticket?

No one in your league will want to play you - properly at least. Prem oppo will be on lucrative pre season tours, or will demand a big fee, or send squad playets/u21s.

Decent L1 teams are probably the best we'll end up with.

It's exactly this. We never field our 1st choice 11 in  a friendly so if we were to get Arsenal and Liverpool down here for pre season they would be fielding unknown youth players while the Prem squad were in Dubai or somewhere.

  5. I've said it before and I'll say it again. I don't believe Steve is willing to back us financially in the Prem. Yes, he could afford to but he didn't back the ladies team enough to be competitive and the rugby finances were curtailed also.

It's why he is looking for investors or buyers for the club.

It's not just the on field expenses. If we were to go up we would need a whole new personnel infrastructure in place of people who know what they're doing. That would be a huge financial outlay in itself.

This is only my opinion of course and I hope I have it wrong, but Steve is far less prominent now than he used to be. I wonder why that is.

If we get a Monday, we then move to the following Thursday, if we get a Thursday we then go to the following Sunday etc

When moved we're more likely to be shown

Then flip into one of out opponents being in the above cycle we automatically get moved even though we may not have been originally shown on TV

Thankfully when the fixtures are released in June we will get all fixtures up to FA Cup round 3 weekend in January

Too late for s/t renewals for people with other commitments though.

A little bit I can add, the club are still waiting for confirmation on how the new kick off days and times will impact us, but we are set to get an additional £2.5m from the deal - which clearly makes up for lost attendances

But the assumption is a side will be live at least 20 times over the season

Assuming that's approx 50% home and 50%away, that's an awful  lot of fixtures moved from traditional ko times. (Unless I'm misinterpreting the info)

    As I say ⬇️

Focussing on performances is not "tosh".

Is also like promotion with 30 1-0 wins. However, if all of those were like the win v Swansea then I'd be worried about getting a big fat 0 points in our following season, because we'd look like absolute frauds.

You could go all season unbeaten and get relegated if you drew every game. i.e.  46 points, so its not all about results. Give me performance and entertainment every time.

Apparently attacking intent only comes if the opposition allow that.  It’s not about “us”, according to Hoggy (who sings from the same hymn sheet as Manning).

That’s a slightly facetious comment, but with a large element of truth about it.

That’s what we have, a team / game-plan based on what the opposition allow us, rather than us imposing our style / identity.

    I can’t wait! 😞

I can't think of a recent manager, except Cotts, who has had us playing proactive rather than reactivate . I get fed up of hearing us say things like "they play with wide men so we have to counter that". All games start 11 v 11 so if they stick 2 out wide, we have 2 extra in the middle.

I know it's not quite that simple but what do opposing managers tell their players when they play us?

We should play our own game and see where it takes us. I want teams to worry about us. Let's lose the negative approach and see some excitement ffs. So for me it's performance over results for the run in. Next season won't matter to me as I won't be back unless things and personnel change.

Maybe just like Twine where if he plays well his value will rise maybe we are doing the opposite with this lad and pick him up for nothing or he could just be shite

He will fit in well then.

I've said this before, the list of billionaires who wish to own a football club is quite small already.

Imagine how large the list of billionaires who wish to own a football club and a rugby club is?

Now reduce that further by producing a list of billionaires who wish to own a football club, a rugby club and a basketball club.

I read that as basketcase club.  Can't think why.

  12. I was critical of Manning but it was more his boring style of play rather than his points per game. Many on here said they wouldn't watch Neil Warnock if he was manager because of his style of play, even if he got us promoted. I buy my season ticket to be entertained and that wasn't happening under Manning. The last couple of games have been better but it's still early days for me. The improvement needs to be consistent and then I'll happily admit that maybe he was searching for a system with these players. He may have found out what works well but he needs consistency.

OH!  For Godsake!, I never thought i would hear someone who i have respected for a considerable time, come up with the ultimate cop-out   of  "He is out of his depth"?  Really Davefevs, you are now resorting to cliche's?  My opinion of you has now plummeted to a level that i never thought possible?  Whatever happened to the cool logical analyst, who's opinion I valued?   Manning, just like Semenyo will come good, given time.....and I truly believe that.

    Leave him alone. Hes unwell.
