  1. I take no pleasure in saying this, but this is the worst performance I've seen in an absolute age. They're stood still.
  2. His militancy cannot be disputed, no. However, much of history is about the outcome of people's actions more than the actions themselves. People will look at how Mandela unified a nation that had been racist from top to bottom for generations and the means to which this was achieved are not given as much credence. I don't know that that is necessarily a bad thing. You can easily compare his militancy to that of the women's movement in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. At the end of the day they achieved equality for all and the means by which that was achieved is not relevant. You find that most militant action comes after a long period of non violent attempts to change the world, when that is met with hostile oppression the only option is to 'fight back' I think it's important to ensure that we understand the justification for violence before dismissing it as a means of protest. Revolution is a necessity in a world where politics and power often drift into the realms of authoritarianism and prejudiced beliefs dominating another people. Fighting back is often the last and only resort and without it oppressive regimes like apartheid, nazism, communism(of the modern European kind as opposed to the ideological Marxist writings) etc would have been able to stand strong for longer.
  3. calamitous from set pieces still. That needs to improve.
  4. With respect, the formation change would hint that yes, that was what was needed in the opinion of the manager. One moment of individual brilliance does not mean our first half was acceptable. The score never tells the full story and thankfully SC seems to have addressed that for the second half.
  5. Just for clarity, and not to be a nob... But, isn't Baldock up front on his own the biggest sin of them all?
  6. it isn't that hard to understand. We look comfortable (In that we don't look like conceding) We aren't playing well. The reason for our comfort, therefore, is not due to us but the weakness of the opposition. Second half, we look much better.
  7. actually a half decent start to this half. Hopefully SC has seen it won't work. Should be 1-1 though. Jesus.
  8. No idea what you're talking about. I take you back to your first post on this thread. "this is painful" I agreed. It is, and it will remain painful as this is not an enjoyable style to watch. I've heard enough people say "it's not different to SOD" and that leads me to think that nobody actually watches the games... We at least tried to move it out of defence before, the instinct wasn't to immediately thump it. Our issue was a lack of movement in midfield and it was starting to come together (Not results, but the way we were playing) Now we're back to square one. And let's be honest here, pal. You're the biggest person I disagree with on this forum.
  9. Never said anything about playing crap. Playing a crap, ineffective brand of anti-football yes. Play this way against a real team we will get murdered. We should be passing it around a side like Tamworth. All day long.
  10. The reason we are comfortable is because they are ******* Tamworth. Cloggers and pensioners galore. Without JET we are absolutely nothing at all.
  11. Idiots like you who gave the previous manager so much grief. Now we have this, against non league shit. Cheers.
  12. Wow Marvin Elliot looks worse than every other player on the pitch, including the railway fella.
  13. tannoy system makes the one at AG look decent....
  14. attacking formation, Taylor in to partner Baldock. Wonder how wide Waggy and Bryan will be? It leaves Elliot very very exposed though.
  15. I'm adding Warnock and Cloggerill to your list of one. I've never felt so disillusioned with BCFC as I do now and that's not helped by JL's insistence that an intangible attribute like 'passion' is at the top of his priorities for the manager... If they get this wrong it's gonna take something odd to happen for me to feel the same way about the club and those destroying running it.
  16. Bang on. There is more to football than quick fixes.
  17. Why not? Because it would tear the support in half, costing the club millions. It defeats the entire object of real football. Rivalries, banter, tribalism. He's an embarrassment to our city.
