  1. Flood Warning Ive just recieved from the EA: Storm Eunice is expected to bring severe gale force winds across the Bristol Channel early on Friday, coinciding with low spring tides. We are expecting this to cause very large and powerful waves along the coast. Forecast high water is 08:15 on 18/02/22 with a level of 7.43 mAOD and a Force 9 South Westerly wind. All times are local and refer to the high water time at Avonmouth, mAOD is height above average sea level for more detail refer to local tide tables. Flooding to roads and farmland is possible at these times, however conditions may apply two to four hours either side of the high tide. We expect flooding to affect the Severn Estuary at Oldbury-on-Severn, Northwick and Avonmouth including Aust and Old Passage. We are closely monitoring the situation. Our incident response staff are closing flood gates and liaising with emergency services. Please be careful along beaches, promenades and coastal footpaths and roads and stay aware in case further warnings are issued. We will update this message as the situation changes and new information is available.
  2. They had Bradley on Talksport earlier, came across as a really nice lad passionate about the club and devastated that he was in this position and how badly the club was being run. He said GMP couldn't impose any ban and no law had been broken so they would not be getting involved and he was also advised he could still attend away games. They asked for a Oldham representative to come on and 5mins later the owner phoned in from the UAE I couldn't catch everything he was saying as the line wasn't clear and I was driving but he basically said it was his club and he could do what he wanted, he also felt the protests were aimed more at his family and the club than himself and that was what offended him!! He was a arrogant **** and stood stead fast by his decision. When asked if they could attend games he told the presenters they could come back only if they apologised and promised to "behave" when asked what he meant by behave he skirted around the issue but basically said don't criticize.
  3. I did say "for some". We are all different I'm sure if you are a "social animal" the lockdown was hell and I'm sorry to hear you suffered. Personally the football was the last thing I missed, so much so I will probably never attend a live game again not because of Covid I just didnt miss it. I presume you would be vehemently against another lockdown based on your experience ?
  4. Yes mate but it wasnt a dig as Im sure a fair few missed work and the interaction but I think people forget how many had to carry on throughout and put there selves at risk whilst still having lockdown restrictions imposed on them. Im sure those pushing for it wouldn't be so keen if they had to do a 12 hour shift mixing with all and sundry and then having their freedoms taken from them in their spare time.
  5. If you were sat at home on furlough it probably felt like it but millions in this country still had to work so for some it didn't feel much like a lockdown.
  6. Well they have binned this season, the top layer of the pitch is gone down the minimal !
  7. I can guess why people were out yesterday, they are not being selfish or stupid I would guess these are the same people who have had no option during the week other than to go to work. Apart from the fantastic NHS staff you have the supermarket workers that are taking daily abuse and keeping the shelves stocked for the same people who want a steady stream of food so they have the ability to self isolate. The lorry drivers that deliver the goods, the manufacturers of the goods right down to the makers of the cardboard boxes that pack the goods. The garage workers and tyre fitters who have to keep the transport on the roads, the fuel attendance who are keeping the pumps going. The Water workers that are keeping your taps running and the sewage workers that are making sure you can still flush all that bog roll that’s being hoarded. The bin men that are picking up all the extra rubbish being created and the landfill workers accepting it, I could go on………………. ! Slagging them off because they have gone all week keeping services going under the threat of the virus and knowing they are having to go back to work this week whilst being put under the same threat to be told they are thick/stupid/selfish for having a walk in the park on their day off is just not on. Yes there are some extremely selfish people out there at the moment but how many on public transport and tubes today are doing all these “key services” to allow those that can self isolate the luxury ? My wife and I would love to self isolate (we have vulnerable relatives that we cannot see) but it would be one less person keeping the shelves full and one less ensuring you can pull your flush so please think carefully before you judge. Take care all.
