Sorry, he played RWB for Aberdeen and a lot was made of his versatility. He was woeful last night. Looked like he just wanted to have an argument/fight with someone.
-
Great we've managed to replace a bloke who's now running English cricket with a delusional ex-pro whose achieved very little in his playing career. Also a replace a proven manager with someone you would best describe as a student of the game. They never learn the Lansdowns do they?
-
Perhaps he doesn't live in Leeds?
-
It's a lifestyle choice isn't it? No one is making you travel to Rotherham on a Wednesday night. Fair play if you do btw. If you look around other 2nd tier leagues, they don't play 46 games. It's ridiculous when you think about it. All the midweek games. Drop a couple of sides from the league and you lose 4 midweek games. That's clearly what is needed. No chance it will happen though.

Probably people queuing for a pint...
-
That also happened with the rugby last Saturday

100% there will be more Friday games next season. With 5 out of 7 games on TV each week and fixtures rearranged early, I imagine clubs will indicate whether they want Friday, early Saturday or Sunday for games being moved. Stadium is set up for Friday games. They make more money in the bars.

He lost his way after that Quins game as did half the squad. We've been better this season. Have a 50/50 record in the league. We need our best players back for the end of the season. Genge, Thacker, Sinkler, Vui, Malins. Only Genge involved in 6 Nations but he's had 8 weeks off. If we start with a win v Northampton we have a chance for top 4. Lose and it's gone
-
Of course he has. He thinks he knows an awful lot more about football than rugby.

2nd highest behind Leicester

You really need to get your eyes looked at. The only manager able to properly compete with Guardiola's Man City for any decent amount of time. Transfer business was excellent virtually all the time. Always a good watch and won every trophy he could win. What a failure

we will be away on the first day of next season 2024/25
The Bard replied to Never to the dark side's topic in Football Chat
It's like that in Rugby. 3 of 5 games are on tv. If you work for NHS etc you are on shifts sorted out a long time in advance. At least people will be able to request time off so they can watch. -

Think there will still be the same slots for Championship games (Fridays, Saturday lunchtimes, occasional Sundays early and the odd Monday). Guess they will have the additional games on red button mostly on Saturdays. Argument being it's less disruptive moving kick off forward a bit than changing the date. I think I read that because so many games will be live that kick off times and dates will be decided a long way in advance. This should at least allow a bit of planning. -

First Summer Friendly Confirmed v Aldershot Town
The Bard replied to Sandhurst Red's topic in Football Chat
But they're in their 60s and 70s. Do they ever grow out of it? -
It's not because of being tribal. It was tribal in the 60s but the players didn't abuse referees and managers didn't just blame refs after the game. It's more about how every day standards of respect etc have gone. People don't now how to behave. Being a moron seems to be socially acceptable.

I heard something on the tannoy on Tuesday about free tickets..
-
Bristol Sport are going to be loving it. City v Forest Friday Bristol v Bath Saturday CIty women v West Ham Sunday Bristol v Bath is practically sold out. City v West Ham has a very good chance of selling out. Think they are virtually giving away tickets for the women's game. Pitch will be a bit ****** though...

Henry Winter, The Times - West Ham match report
The Bard replied to ChippenhamRed's topic in Football Chat
Henry Winter is a reporter who got lost in the journalist corridor. Born to report on either Rugby Union or cricket but turned into the football room. Establishment - Telegraph, Times. as B O S said he's just ruffling our provincial hair. He can **** right off. ..and I'm both a rugby and cricket fan. -
If you are playing 2 in that position then one of them needs to be able to dribble distance. Remember LJ trying the formation at West Brom. It didn't work as we effectively had 4 CMs. We lacked mobility and couldn't carry the ball out of defence. Is Twine a dribbler?
-
Well it technically is but the fee for TGH went down accordingly. We could have sold Weimann for £9 million and bought TGH for £10 million. The difference between the 2 fees is what matters to the clubs
-
It's clearly wrapped up with the Weimann deal isn't it? We were happy to get the price for TGH nudged down a little whilst AW's wages were off the books. They get someone experienced, reliable and clearly a good egg and get a fee now.

Man City have no African or Asian players. Pretty sure that's no accident. Bet they win about 15 games in a row now. African football has got real strength in depth now. Probably 10 sides who you would say were competitive on a world level.

Ludicrously, standing is legal at rugby but Ashton Gate Stadium will not facilitate it. It's not legal at football and Ashton Gate Stadium do facilitate it. At rugby People who go in the corner all sit. I have a ST in the middle of the SS for rugby and we have occasionally gone in the corner. Unless we find a place at the back we get tutted at and told to sit down.
