  1. 5 Live last night had an interesting interview with someone from the company that makes those GPS vests they were at training, They've measured the amount of time players are within close proximity and it's minimal. If someone did test positive for C-19 they would be able to look and see who was in close proximity at training and they could be isolated. It shows just how much money and the right technology can help nail this. In the Bundersliga the players arrived on multiple coaches as they had to sit far apart from each other.
  2. Add that to the likes of Hughes, Sinckler, Thacker, Vui and Luatua in the pack we have a side to challenge for the very top honours.
  3. 100%. They built these new hospitals but have barely used them. massive publicity stunt and waste of money. Should have moved those they thought were recovering to these before being moved back to their homes only when they were confirmed as recovered. If you look here https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/country/uk/ and compare countries, we don't have any stats for recoveries. So, we don't know how many active cases there are. We are therefore trying to come up with cheaper alternatives to measuring this outbreak which are less reliable than testing and tracing. German football went back because they knew their cases have reduced and where they were and because their game is well run. We don't know where our cases are within the community and our game is 'run' by a load of competing, selfish individuals and organsiations who couldn't lead the game out of a paper bag.
  4. NO they wouldn't. People are still travelling to Wales to work as would the players. The travel be is intended to stop people trying to go camping on the Gower or mountaineering in the Black Mountains or Snowdonia
  5. My dislike of Danny Rose started during his "I don't to be here" loan spell with us and continues through his shocking England performances (how many caps?) and everytime he decides to open his mouth basically. The likes of him and Rooney really don't get how massively privileged they are as Mozo points out. I have to visit people as part of my job, including the vulnerable and elderly and I am lucky to have been able to get 3 pairs of PPE gloves and 1 mask to last me. The danger to him and the other players will be greater when they are at home rather than when they are away playing football. By all means let them withdraw from playing, but don't pay them at all if they do.
  6. https://www.theguardian.com/football/2020/may/11/league-games-every-day-la-liga-outlines-plan-for-return-to-action-on-12-june Interesting that they believe playing will be less dangerous than going home. The number of positive tests was lower than they expected.
  7. They don't need to go into isolation if they subsequently test negative... Surely? Dresden trying to sabotage this probably due to their league standing.
  8. One thing that stands out for me is the difference in attitude to private hospitals/beds. We are 'buying up beds' to quote the Health Secretary. Spain have requisitioned beds. We've still put private industry first whereas the Spanish have put them in their place...
  9. It simply shows the contempt with which we are viewed by our Government.
  10. Difference is they will get a long enforced rest before playing again. No niggles, recovery from injuries and illness. It's not as if they have small squads.
  11. The final option is the only realistic one. Much better to tinker with a season that's not yet started then mess about with one 75% complete. Now, factor in the 2022 World cup being in November and December and the possibility of amended seasons really seems to become more likely. They moved the Rugby season around this year and had the 3rd competition as a pre-season thing. I think the rest of the season could be played out in maybe 8 to 10 weeks including Europe and FA Cup. Saturday, Tuesday, Saturday. Then have a few weeks of international football with the Euro 21 play offs before a new season starts. The new season will have to be condensed somehow. No international windows. Maybe knock the Euros back to later in the summer? If the season is extended, then all contracts should be extended on the same terms until the end. Then have a window..
  12. It used to be almost readable but has gone to the dogs since the Barclays took it over.
  13. For the maths you tally up all the games which is 380 in the EPL and 552 in the Championship. 75% of 380 is 285 which means the EPL is 3 over the target. For the Championshipthe figure is way over 75% as you say.
  14. Absolutely. If the rumours about August/September are true, the logical thing would be to play this season out up to say end of OCtober / November. Then have a longer international break where the Euro qualifiers are played,. Before starting the new season in late November.
  15. The fairest way to deal with this would be to base the final table on the first half of the season where each club has played each other once. That is a league rather than a half-arsed 70% finished league It won't happen though..
  16. Yep. It's a 9 week period of disruption which has already began
  17. It's extremely contagious which suggests it won't go away until someone finds a vaccine for it.
  18. Its called the planning process. If the people AG Ltd have employed know their stuff it shouldn't be a problem.
  19. It will make sod all difference. It's a one track railway and the trains have limited capacity for humans (as opposed to freight). All the stations on the line would have to be quite long for a decent sized train to stop there. Parson Street is really not that far away - Worst Great Western should sort out more regular trains there and actually publicise them...
  20. It's extremely unlikely a club will go bust whilst still receiving parachute payments. They will always have some attraction to a potential buyer. The problem is when they run out and clubs haven't cut their cloth accordingly. If what you say is true, they could be in problems down the line. Whoever chose to hand out new contracts is a complete fool.
  21. Girls league is on Sundays. My daughter plays for the same team as Judda's so they'll be able to watch. Saturdays make much more sense than Sundays...
  22. Ashton Gate could be hosting a play off semi on 13th June. We'd have to finish top 2 though.
