Len, I'd settle for the winners' track record in major tournaments with the odd non-qualification, wouldn't you? It's perfectly normal.that expectations for this tournament include beating the USA, considering Euro 2020 and WC2018. TBF, before the tournament started, most weren't picking England as favourites (Brazil and France are touted as that). Besides that, I think the manner of the draw against USA is what has irked most, it certainly did for me.

Agreed until now, poor control, which is normally one of his strengths.

Don't see how we can continue to play Naismith, if he continues to give goals away. He looks good, but he's costing us right now. Reminds me of Magnússon, who often saw his mistakes punished with a goal. I like lucky players.

The fixture list is a very relevant point; without a quick turnaround a lot of the damage could already be done. The defence is a worry and in over a year that hasn't been fixed, not sure there is evidence this can be quickly resolved now. Kalas coming back is also no guarantee in an upturn in performance, since he has been, for long periods, a part of that porous, problematic defence. On the point about SL, I would suggest he left the building a lot more than 18months ago. He essentially handed control of the club to Mark Ashton a long time ago. We continue to pay for that misjudgement now.

What concerns me is the whole familiarity. It feels like last season again already. Very concerning. Any teams due to get point deductions this ti.e around?

Never a good sign when a decent performance brings a poor result. Very familiar feeling and I hate to say, sign of a weak team... Let's hope we getter a better result next week.
