  1. Leicester City. Premier League champions and FA Cup winners from nowhere. And they're about the same size as us. As Gilbert (Fridge) used to say "You's can always dream "
  2. Can remember watching the home game against Millwall, going 3-0 down just after half time and thinking that it didn't look good for him so early in the season.
  3. Atmosphere. Location and surroundings. Tradition. Its all about the feel of the ground and surrounding area for me. I love Villa Park. Been there with City a lot and also as a neutral. Big stands and atmosphere. White Hart Lane was fabulous (Soft spot for Spurs). The old shelf along the side of the ground which used to bounce. As for smaller grounds, I like old grounds. Burnley, in amongst the terraced houses and Bradford
  4. Definitely not as we're going to barnstorm our way to promotion next season playing progressive, front foot football.......... Aren't we?
  5. It was. Up there with my favourite away games. The old wooden stand rocked that night. And the performance was special
  6. Or as Milletts once said "Now is the winter of our discount tents ".
  7. Jacki. Genius. Flawed yes but under the right manager he'd win games on his own.
  8. When I started going regularly to home games I was 7 years old in 1968. I used to stand at the back of the old enclosure against the wall and stand on an old wooden box with my uncle. My grandad used to sit in the front row of the old stand right above us. Always worried his false teeth were going to come flying over the wall as he was ranting so much! When I was about 12 I was allowed to go into the East End on my own. Magical
  9. Dickie came into the City side a few years after I started watching. He had a prodigious leap on him for his size and was a decent footballer unlike some of the 'Stopper' centre halves in those days. Geoff Merrick came though in exactly the same playing style and could also jump a lot higher than his height suggested. The Collier/Merrick centre half pairing was the foundation of our promotion winning side along with big Dave Rodgers as a more than suitable replacement. RIP Dickie
  10. Along with Buster Footman
  11. Didn't see that one. Thanks for the update
  12. Very long and detailed article on the BBC sport website about Millwall being a Championship club and getting to the semi final of this tournament. We get a one line mention halfway through. Talk about London bias!!
  13. Roughly translated, it says "Domino hoo hoo".
  14. This was a party political broadcast on behalf of the Lansdown Party
  15. To a certain degree, I agree. Let it go. Manning’s here for the next 6-8 months at least. Accept it. It might taste nasty but it's real. And we're winning again. Pop back again in October if we're struggling.
  16. Manning ups not an issue. Suffering fools? Now that's different
  17. Frustrating isn't it, but hey ho, I'm off to the pub
  18. Torrential rain and thunder clouds in North Devon at the moment
  19. I never get used to it. My opinion is my opinion. If somebody doesn't agree I encourage constructive argument. Not just someone saying I'm wrong with baseless grounds. I've left this forum alone for long periods in the past because every thread seems to deteriorate into abuse and irrelevance. It's disappointing but then again it's symptomatic of people's inability nowadays to accept that someone else might not agree with them. (Stands back and waits for face palm emoji)
  20. Man City 2/1 with some bookies to win the league now. That looks tempting
  21. Fergie would have put his arm around him on the pitch and painted the dressing room walls with him when they got inside. I couldn't see what Grealish did that wrong but then again I'm not a world class manager!
  22. I'm not questioning Peps record. That is untouchable. I'm just saying I think he was out of order singling out Jack in public. There were just as many players who underperformed yesterday than played well. On a personal aside I can't stand Arteta. I'd rather anyone won the league than Arsenal
  23. They were well off the pace yesterday. KdB has looked half fit for a while Haaland was out for a long time and not been firing on all cylinders. I think Peps loyalty to certain players might cost him this season. As for Arsenal, I've a massive soft spot for Spurs so I might not comment but I think Liverpool have the easiest run in.
