  1. I enjoyed today and I've been vocal against Manning recently but that's because I was firmly in the pro Pearson camp. The team stepped up to the plate today. I might argue that Leicester weren't at their best but we had a game plan and that's credit to the manager. I've accepted for a while that Manning’s going nowhere until at least October next season. He needs a transfer window, a preseason and time to set his ideas and after today he's going to get that. I'm happy to be proven wrong because I love my football club. What I don't want is another streaky Lee. One good result doesn't paper over QPR and Sheff Wed's. That's where we need to improve.
  2. What today told me was that we need a quality striker. Not going to be easy but we need to keep Conway and get guaranteed goals. Defensively sound, interesting young additions coming into midfield and now we need a goalscorer
  3. So do Pompey. Premier League and an FA Cup Final recently, ish. But are they bigger than us? Restricted home capacity and competition from Saints locally. Bolton have suffered from overspending when they were overachieving under Big Sam. Another in the shadow of Manchester. Wigan are ex Premier League and won the FA Cup. What makes us a bigger club than any of these? I'd say that potentially were bigger than all of them. Just potentially though
  4. I think that after the Swansea result we weren't in serious danger from relegation. Sides lower in the table were playing each other so we were relatively safe. I think it needed an embarrassing score to get rid of him and after today's showing I don't think that's going to happen. The team played well and played for him today. Hopefully, the inconsistencies will not return as players come back from injury. I know we've had 'turning points' before but today felt more like a big plus.
  5. I also have to say that Leicester were there for the taking today. Yes, they had chances but so did we. Max kept us in the game a couple of times but on the whole, we played well
  6. I'm prepared to eat a small piece of humble pie and some of my words. He set us up well and the team played for him. We didn't look like the team we've been recently. The jury is still out though
  7. If I had a tenner for every time I've read on here "Obviously I want us to win tomorrow " when what they really mean is "I hope we get hammered and Manning gets sacked" I'd have more than enough for a good night out and a curry afterwards. It wouldn't bother me in the slightest if we lost heavily, played crap, looked useless and were totally humiliated if it meant that something was going to change at our club. Whether that be Manning sacked, Tinnion sacked, Jon Lansdown removed or all 3 preferably. I'm fed up with the shambles that this club has become, angry that we were lied to about why Pearson was sacked and gutted that we appear to have a manager not fit for purpose now. In all honesty, I couldn't care less anymore
  8. A hammering, a rendition of 'you don't know what you're doing' and a post match interview with Binman telling us we're on track. And Southampton gets a mention,.......again
  9. Maybe we appoint a coach with experience of managing a side at international level?
  10. If Carlsberg did penalty shoot outs....
  11. He got the job because of his European record and because there were no standout English candidates. He won the League in Italy
  12. I struggle with the whole England thing. I know we have an abundance of talented youngsters but I feel we've entrusted them with a manger who didn't prove himself at club level and therefore didn't merit the job. I'd love him to succeed. I don't believe that losing a World Cup semi is success although I recognise that people would consider that this is our level. Same goes to losing to Italy in the Euros. I'd just like him to win something and prove me wrong.
  13. Thank you, thank you. This is exactly what I've been saying
  14. He's fighting against expectations. The squad is obviously talented so expectations are high. Is runners up good enough?
  15. Man United watching this and salivating at the prospect of having grey Gareth managing them soon. If ever a manager's been carried along by the quality of his players, its this anorak. Leading in a World Cup semi final and blew it. Leading in a Euros final and blew it. The blokes a chinless dork that says the right things and couldn't manage a w*nk in a sock.
  16. Brings back (shivers) memories of Pulis and Parsons
  17. If that wasn't a 'cut and paste' job you need to get out more Seagull
