  1. Very League One style football at the moment. No real momentum

I had a chip repaired in my windscreen this week by Autoglass which was done by the only female technician they have in the South West and she was a QPR fan. She was amazed at how poor Nakhi had been since we signed him - they were very sad to see him go and just don’t understand why he’s never played as well at Ashton Gate. As said before I reckon (hope) he had been ill, as when he was bent over double after a shortish run made him look like he’d been on the pitch all game rather than the last 10 mins! We just need a quality centre forward who can score goals on his own and when put through by the likes of Knight etc, I hate to say it but think Nakhi ‘s best days seem to be over!
  3. Can't agree more. The teams that excite, get fans off their seats and generally progress - attack at all costs, try and try to make things happen but all in all have a clear and simple plan on how to score goals. At the moment it seems that City only want to keep possession, not concede goals - rather than score them and if you asked the players what the tactics were to score a goal I don't think any of them would know. Think back to the Scotty days running down the right wing - ball passed to Tinnion (the only thing he's done really well for the club is ping a pass with his left foot) who passes it out to Scotty who runs down the wing and crosses for one of numnerous forwards to run on to and score. Simples!!!
  4. Haven’t you heard “Tomorrow never comes”!!
  5. Bring back Nige - all is forgiven!!!!
  6. Any chance we can get his name right - MEBUDE - not Mbude
  7. But the Lino's have to make an instant decision and don't get even a "still" to have a look at! You get some - you don't get others!! Thankfully today we got it!!
  8. Max always has been and always will be tactically inept. Not pushing that shot to the side was Lg 2 standard
  9. The throw in was his only real bad judgement he made - having minutes before allowed a free kick for offside on the Dolman stand sideline and near the Corner flag be allowed to be taken almost at the top of the penalty area was an absolute joke! That kept happening all night - throw ins from the wrong place so why get totally obsessed with Cornick! Give linesmen “magic foam” and mark where the throw in has to be taken - that’ll stop massive encroachment!
  10. Likewise a constant frustration - we never seem to look for the quick throw in and have very few "different" ideas of what to do - this must be down to training - or lack of it, as if the stats are right and we had 38 on Saturday then it is crazy we don't practise these more - or if we do practise why on earth aren't they any better. I don't really think if you take a throw in during a Championship game or Premier Lg game there is much difference but Prem teams seem to keep/gain much more of their own momentum at throw in's than we do - and have done for many years! It surely isn't that difficult to improve!!
  11. It takes little or no time for those who walked to the centre of the pitch to wave or clap to all sides of the ground - show some respect to all fans - there is plenty of time if it is planned correctly.
  12. Its a shame with all these presentations that whoever is being presented to the crowd forgets Block A - C of the Dolman (or whatever numbers they are now) and the Atyeo end of the Lansdown - are these fans not worth parading in front of as much as those in the South Stand and today the South Stand end of the Lansdown. Come on Bristol City - give enough time to parade the "guests" in front of all City fans - not just a few!
  13. The overriding comment from last weekend when I was listening to some commentaries on the radio was the fact that so many pundits were saying how great it was NOT to have VAR, as the players just got on with it, played to the referee's whistle and if it was shown later that they got it wrong - then tough, that was just one of those things. It would be interesting to see how much "additional time" was played on Saturday in games with no VAR, compared to those with VAR! My brother spends half his life in Germany where they have had VAR for much longer than the UK and long winded decisions just don't happen - why can't we learn from them!!
  14. That's because the FA Cup game at West Ham was only "scheduled" to be one game - had there been a result. With the Lg Cup semi-final it is always two legs hence the decision not to use VAR as both grounds haven't got VAR - for a Semi-final involving two Premier Lg clubs no doubt VAR would be used. But I agree that a whole competition should be with or without - hence both the FA Cup and Lg Cup's in England should be without VAR!
  15. Wait for Manning’s post match comments with his head bowed looking down at the ground and having almost no eye contact! Total lack of self confidence!
  16. Oh to have a goal scorer! Please sign one - we are in such desperate need for someone to be clinical in front of goal!
  17. Not daft! I totally forgot to click the buttons!! All sorted - thanks.
  18. Trying to buy my tickets - but when I click on "proceed" having got to the screen where it lists my season tickets - just goes back to the "Buy Tickets" screen Come on get this sorted!!
  19. So why should those who want to sit be made to sit pitch side??? What we should work towards is the structure it used to be in the 60's and 70's - allow Home and Away supporters who want to sit - sit, and those who want to stand - stand. When I went away to many games in our Promotion year in 1975/76 we always 'sat' in the stands - mostly in an area for "away" fans - but there was always the "standing" area for away fans as well - mostly at the ends behind the goals. Give fans the choice - but don't disadvantage one for the other. The idea of the South Stand being all standing - would only work if you could fill it every week - otherwise extend the current Safe Standing area but also consider introducing other areas around the ground - perhaps the lower Dolman - if there was a need? I personally don't like going to many away games - as there is no guarantee I can sit and have a good view - rather than currently either be forced to stand or made to sit at the front of the fans - and have to suffer a crap view.
  20. Look what we did with Sammy Szmodics - let him go and now he can't stop scoring! We can't let Tommy go yet! Get him to sign a new contract - let him regain his confidence and let's see how well he does!
  21. The best of Conway was seen when he and Wells were playing together - we need to play with a front two - and play Knight deeper so he can affect play. No space for Weimann and Knight as they play the same role - Weimann needs benching (sad to say) and we need to give Knight a chance to be creative. The passing yesterday was shocking (apart from at time Matty James) as the ball was played to feet (or behind) so every recipient had to stop their run and couldn't take the ball in their stride - this slowed everything down and encouraged too many back and side passing that we have seen for toooooo long. Watching the Liverpool v Newcastle game when I got home (to S Devon) the biggest difference - apart from the quality of players) was that both teams tried passes, lost possession regularly - then the opposition tried something, and lost possession and they all carried on - more exciting and positive. Possession football at our level just doesn't work - for the players or the crowd!
